Cons -
- Maybe a bit run down but all I wanted was a bed for the night for after a lads night out !!! Hotel room was clean and tidy and staff were friendly. Lift had broken down but we were pre warned of that so no problem for us .
- A tough run down, could use a spruce up. Our sink was cracked and looked dirty but wasn't. It was just the repair job, mafe it look that way.
- Central location and my room was overlooking main street so couldn’t have window open as very noisy when local clubs turning out. Obviously nothing the hotel can do about that.

The reception staff were lovely and really looked after us on a very difficult day.

Nothing exceptional but all you need for a few days stay at a reasonable price.

Nice clean spacious room with a four poster bed and also facing straight onto the sea would definitely come back
clean, tidy.. great value for the time price. Staff really welcoming, every polite. Will be returning in the future.
the noise of the nightclub til about 2am. arguments in the hallway were we we’re located.
Location is decent, facilities were good, fairly priced.
Discovered leak through ceiling in the middle of the night, understandably these things happen. We were moved promptly, however not informed that we were being moved into a twin room from a double, “for convenience”, down the hall, and in our new room the window would not lock. Staff had no idea or intention to help with this safety issue, we were offered to move again “free of charge” (which I would consider the bare minimum) but had already moved and for the sake of a two night stay packing up and moving down the hall again seemed like it was hardly worth going. Facilities were clean and otherwise a lovely place to visit, just a shame about the lack of effort from staff.
Clean, big room with lots of light with a big bathroom! Very warm and comfortable!
Maybe promote any other services they provide
Everything met my expectations, most friendly staff always so welcoming. Location great. Lovely relaxing bath. Parking facilities, sea view. Breakfast great with excellent service with a smile. Sarah, Steph and the team working very hard to ensure their guests have an enjoyable experience.
No comments to make.
Location is great. Close to the beach and bars.
The blankets were so thin. I was freezing one night. And I wasn’t allowed to open the windows so the room could get wiffy
Location was great, staff were very helpful.
There is a nightclub directly opposite with an outside vaping area at the front with intoxicated customers shouting, ,making lots of noise and so on from 10pm to 4.00am , which had I known would not have booked the hotel as little sleep was had.
Dirty, unsafe, unable to lock...
Dirty, unsafe, unable to lock to room door whilst in side during the night, carpets in corridor and hotel room were dirty and ripped, general deco in poor condition
I’ve stayed here many times. Yes it needs updating, but rooms are always clean. Great location and good breakfast
It needs updating, but it’s in a great location
Staff very friendly the room was nice also the tea and biscuits in a good location being very close to train station and the beach
Location is great for the beach and access to local areas we needed to visit
It constantly smelt of people smoking weed and a lingering smell of cigarettes in the halls
dont stay there
Grim, don't stay there. Everything is aged, dated, worn out, dirty. From the lobby to the rooms. Had to change rooms as the first room they gave me had dirty linen. 2nd room, both bath towels had multiple hairs on. Carpet worn out and not fitted. Stains on the walls, floors, carpet. Mold around windows and in bathroom. Water stains on the ceiling. The room had a lamp post right outside, curtains were useless, might as well have been day light for all the good they did. Lots of noise from the street. Walls are paper thin, had to spend 10 minutes listening to the guy next door being violently sick. Other reviews have mentioned it being a halfway house or homeless shelter, judging by the "guests" and the state of the place, they seem correct. Luckily I was only staying 1 night, but even so, I checked out at 4am just to get away from the place. You couldn't pay me to stay here again. Vile.
Everything, perfect location near the beach, plenty of bars and restaurants, hotel is amazing and has lots of history behind it, staff are friendly, funny and helpful.
Location
Being put in a room, (room 31!) that was boiling hot as my original room didn’t have a plug for the bath! Said boiling hot room isn’t apparently used for guests, well it was for me, was then moved again to a room with 2 single beds, not slept in a single bed since I was about 10, at this point I’d gave up, was sick of unpacking/packing. As a guest that’s frequented many times, wasn’t overly impressed.
