- Excellent setting, room and staff
Cons -
- Quite a few of the items from the buffet breakfast (hot section) could have been kept a lot warmer. ?
- Christmas dinner was overated. Expected better from this hotel. Other meals we've had there were good
- Bit of a building site right now given that they're building a new spa complex, but not hugely inconvenient. But I hope they don't expand too much. We stayed up the road at Seamill Hydro a few years ago and it's far too big and impersonal - it's the human scale at the Waterside that makes it so much better.

Return visit (stayed in 2018 on the way out to the Hebrides). Great location overlooking the Clyde Estuary with stunning views of Arran if the weather behaves. Great room, good food, good staff, will use again.

We had a nice view of the sea. The room was large & comfortable.
Sadly, it was windy with driving rain while we were there, so we didn't get to walk the beach.
We loved the room and the fabulous view, my granddaughters loved the breakfasts, all the staff were lovely, will definitely be back.
Was blown away with the room, excellent. Staff were so nice, especially receptionist. Very helpful and friendly. View was stunning.
The building work starting at 8 am! Very disappointed, I suffer from MS and find it hard in the morning. It was our first Holiday in 6 years due to this reason. I had a knock on effect when I got home not being able to sleep a little later, didn't feel to well. It's a shame as everything else was perfect.
The sea view was beautiful. The staff were really friendly.
The jacuzzi bath had brown bits coming out of the jets and left my skin dirty so had a shower to wash it off. The room was extremely hot and we couldn't open the window due to the weather but that's not the hotels fault.
Great location and helpful staff
We had a room at front and road noise was very noticeable
The scenery! My second trip here and I was so disappointed by far the first trip I loved second was a total disaster!!!!!!!!!!!
Asked for fish no fish left asked for another dish none left then settled for fajitas which the sauce was far too hot for my friend and I so these were sent back so no dinner for us that evening so we went back to our rooms and looked out the window as the atmosphere in the lounge was like a funeral home no music and the waitress laughed when I asked to take the food back for goodness sake you are taking your eye of the ball as far as this place is concerned you can't keep staff what is going wrong ? No milk for breakfast and no sausages these are basic on orders that's awful I used to brag about this place not anymore I have worked in this industry but you need to shape up as the staff are bad and that's the younger ones I speak about one young guy looked terrified to approach the table to take the order ,during the day the staff are better receptionist and night porter were Fabulous and day breakfast staff apart from the girl who laughed when I asked to take our food back the evening before, also a table outside of wedding facilities full of glasses left over the weekend glasses as you go through the gate lying on sand Health and safety !!! My friends room had not been vacumed properly Kirby grips all over her carpet ,little square upstairs in the hotel had flipflops and other items left from wedding guest who had long left the Hotel the day before
EverythingThe room - the staff - the food - the location and the parking - everything was great. The staff went over and above to make sure our stay was memorable.
Nothing at all
We had a sea facing room with a lovely view of the beach and Arran over the sea. Hotel was well kept, smart and had all you want
no swimming pool. There is building work going on at the sides , but this should be finished soon. In front of the hotel is a busy A road, so you would not want views of that
The room
This is the most pretentious hotel I have ever stayed at. Staff indifferent, website made out that they had a large choice of seafood and shellfish whereas it was fish and chips, fish pie. Breakfast was cold. They make out as pet friendly however pets not even allowed to sit on owners knee.
Fabulous location. Relaxed spacious restaurant, but the staff made the difference. Without exception, they were friendly, helpful and responsive.
We could hear the next room’s TV. Perhaps a max volume TV control is a good idea
Absolutely everything… All of the staff were lovely, our room was spotless and very comfortable and the food, dinner and breakfast selections were great and both very very tasty and well presented ?
Absolutely nothing
Lovely location and decor. Loved having the use of the spa at the sister hotel .Room was really large with balcony window. Nice menu.
Only a few small details could have made it better . At breakfast no ketchup or sauces and I had to ask for them and came in those little sachets . Asked for toast and only 2 slices between 3 people . The shower in the room was so stiff that we couldn’t get the cold water on so had a scalding hot shower . Smell of damp in the corridor outside the room.
Clean, pleasant, great location, great reception staff.
Restaurant pricey for basic pub food.
Location, food and environment lovely
Bed was uncomfortable Expensive menu & drinks
Room was immaculate with stunning views. Comfortable bed and good sleep.
Bar and restaurant prices were well overpriced... Not Impressed!Staff could have been more attentive and more tidy.Lack of atmosphere as place was empty... Easter Sunday!
The room was lovely spacious and well equipped
