Pros +
- We loved the hotel and our room; it was decorated with amazing taste for beauty and comfort, as if entering someone’s beautiful home rather than a typically corporate, characterless environment of many hotels. The restaurant was closed the night we stayed but given the wonderful quality breakfast, we would have loved to sample dinner there too.
- Lovely, comfy bed, great food in the restaurant and fab brekkie in the morning
- Excellent welcome. Sunday evening the restaurant was closed which is understandable, but they provided a wonderful charcuterie board
Cons -
- There was nothing we didn’t like; we would definitely go again.
- That they’re closing the kitchen in March. No more evening meals and only continental breakfast in future, so we won’t be making the trip again, unfortunately.
- Little if anything to criticise

All the staff were so welcoming and approachable, we were made to feel at home as soon as we arrived. Nothing was too much trouble. We were upgraded to the downstairs apartment this was a lovely surprise.
An old property with plenty of character, the location is perfect for exploring Dorset the being coast a 15 min drive.
staff were lovely..nice homemade shortbread in room
the bath was uncomfortable....breakfast could have had a few more cold selection choices but was fine...im nit picking
Very welcoming and helpful staff. We had an excellent supper and fulfilling breakfast after a good night’s sleep
Stayed in one of the self service apartments which was lovely. Great food in the restaurant and for breakfast too. Charging point for our electric car at 85p KW.
the breakfast
the fires were not lite, the staff were school leavers, the bedroom was freezing, as no-one had put on the radiators. The restaurant looked uninviting, and cheap. ( unlike the price). Shame as its a good looking hotel, ( and used to be classy) but run now like a night bar and by people who, not at their fault, not understand what it should be like to stay at a 3 star hotel.
friendly , helpful and attentive staff. food first class both breakfast and dinner
All my requests were met
The parking lot was covered in very dusty/muddy gravel which soiled suitcases shoes etc.
Stylish bar and restaurant, very good food and comfortable spacious room.
Breakfast was wonderful; lovely fresh buffet with cooked to order hot food. Menu selection was extensive, with options to have several 'small plates' rather than main meals.
Good selection for dinner. Breakfast good but slow service.
Service slow at breakfast
A very comfortable hotel in the lovely village of Beaminster,Dorset. It suited our business needs being very close to Mapperton Hall.
Good location in the pretty town of Beaminster.
Poorly maintained property with basic rooms that overlook the car park and some sort of factory. Shabby furnishings and bed linen, room too hot but if the windows were opened you got cooking smells from the kitchen and the sound of a very noisy extractor. All this for the princely sum of £270 for a one night stay. Dinner was ok but menu very expensive and breakfast, well look at the picture below. Says it all. No manager in sight to complain to and the owner has not replied to my emails.
Fab location. Breakfast was lovely.
Room extremely hot. Fan broken. Definitely not at good as the pictures made it look.
Comfortable facilities-bed, bathroom. Food was very good.
Shower could have been better and we were at front of property with extremely noisy traffic noise on main road. Traditional bedroom furnishings not to everybody's taste.
Lovely garden for pre dinner drinks, delicious food and friendly staff
All food and drinks excellent.our room was very clean and well serviced.staff were excellent
Evening staff were fantastic and room was lovely
Menu and price of food. Also morning staff
