Summer Lodge Country House Hotel

The rooms were beautifully done up, the house and grounds were lovely, and the staff, particularly Sherjot at reception, the restaurant staff, spa staff and cleaning crew were thoughtful and pleasant. Loved our stay, would highly recommend.

Absolutely loved everything about this Country Hotel, location was beautiful, gorgeous little village. The staff went above and beyond. Food was just outstanding.Will highly recommend to all our friends. 10 stars !!

Breakfast freshly cooked and very well cooked or prepared with very good ingredients.All the staff were very helpful and very pleasant.Dinner excellent and Acorn Inn likewise very good.Within reasonably short drive to the coast, local towns and other interesting sites.Having had a difficult year health wise wanted a couple of days properly to enjoy my wife’s 75th birthday. The hotel provided some nice additions to add to the occasion. For two or three special days definitely a place to choose.

Excellent food , breakfast,lunch and dinner. Location slightly compromised by road closures due to sewage replacement.

Welcoming staff, wonderful room and food

Beautiful setting, lovely gardens, excellent pool/spa facilities, smoothly run hotel with a lot of thoughtful touches. Staff exceptionally helpful and courteous.

There was nothing about the property to dislike and service in the main was spot on - with the exception of my request for a second cup of coffee at our final breakfast. I had to ask twice and then go and seek a waiter before finally getting the coffee, by which time I had finished eating. Apart from that, and a maid failing to close the window blind before pulling the curtains during the turn down service, everything was great.

Very comfortable and clean stay, friendly and helpful staff, great location to access lovely countryside and coast, consistently high quality food and drinks, lovely touches like delicious fudge and shortbread put in room.

The bathroom was quite cold as only had a small electric towel radiator and the shower temperature fluctuated unexpectedly.

The food and staff was amazing, fantastic.

Only wringle was the bed was too firm didn't sleep great. But a minor issue.

From the minute we arrived until the minute we left we were made to feel valued. The staff were truly amazing and attentive to your every need and nothing is too much trouble.

There is nothing we did not like, only one small bit of criticism would be that some soft background music in the spa, restaurant and bar would be good so you feel it’s to quiet to talk privately to one another.

Lovely property in a great rural location. Bedroom was very spacious and nice decor. Very comfy bed. Comfortable living room and dining room and food was excellent. Very friendly staff.

The staff were exceptional. Their attention to detail was fantastic. The hotel food was incredible and the drinks also. The room was spacious and comfortable. We would certainly return to the hotel and restaurant as it was amazing.

The spa was not at the same level as the hotel. In comparison it was just ok. The staff were friendly but the facilities were standard. The robes did not fit and the changing area was too small for the amount of people using the facilities. My friend and I both had the same treatment with 2 different therapists and the difference was vast. One had a lovely experience the other not so much and for the price this was a real shame.

The location is beautiful in the lovely village of Evershot. Just a really really nice classic small English country hotel.The food was fantastic, we went for their set menu with recommended wines and its was a good choice.Now onto the staff, they really went out of their way to look after us & it tells you something about the establishment when you chat to the staff & discover a lot of them have worked there for 20+ years.A great short break, oh & they love dogs…..

Delightful hotel, with delicious fine dinning restaurant. Location good for Sherborne area. Comfortalbe rooms, welcome drinks and fresh baked good daily.Staff were very welcoming. Nice spa and treatment.

Bathroom was cold, woudl benefit from heater tiled floor in winter with big sash window made it feel draughty.

The staff were super friendly and the breakfast was amazing! We ate at the pub in the village in the evening, which via a door out of the bar was a 2 min walk and food exceptional as well. The Acorn Inn is affiliated to the Lodge so again staff were fantastic. Extra touches like free muffins, fruit and drinks at the pool, service was great at Summer Lodge and pool area very nice too.

There was a holding charge for the room. Some paid it on debit, and some people were held on credit cards. Small confusion re refunds on departure but got sorted!

The food was incredible and the staff were super helpful. Best UK hotel stay in a while. The room was exceptional and the spa facilities were great.

Fabulous luxury break, tucked away in the gorgeous village of Evershot in the Dorset countryside. Staff, facilities and food were wonderful - we were very well looked after and felt restored after our stay!

Room was big and spacious with very comfy beds and linen. Hotel staff were very helpful. Set menu at the restaurant was excellent and good value. Nice location.

The bathroom was disappointing. We were on the first floor and couldn't get any any hot water from the sink and the water pressure was low so the shower was feeble and the shower was in the bath. I don't think it was a 5 star bathroom. Decor needs a refresh.
