Pros +
- The disability room access, the room size, the newness and cleanliness of the room, the location, quiet at night,….everything!
- Very friendly and welcoming. Lovely comfy and spacious room.
- Great location, clean and good value. Friendly staff and fantastic breakfast.Starting to show some signs of tiredness and in need of a facelift in the room I was staying in. Building work on a section of the accommodation block was ongoing during my visit, with no impact whatsoever on me.
Cons -
- The shower needed a shelf for shampoo/soap and a grab bar for disabled to hold or a shower chair.
- External door to room in new external extension building was left by customers to bang shut. Perhaps signage on r a slow closer would rectify this?
- The en-suite toilet and shower were rather cramped, whilst the washbasin was in the bedroom.

The hotel is located close to the railway station and is a short walk from the town centre. The room was very clean and comfortable and there was no intrusive noise. The bed was very comfyThe hotel is a popular eating place and that is not surprising given the quality and range of food on offer, including a good choice of vegetarian dihes. The service is quick and the staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful. All the public areas are well maintained and the whole hotel has an air of freshness.
The en-suite toilet and shower were rather cramped, whilst the washbasin was in the bedroom.
Nice spacious modern room. Food was very good. Staff were friendly and welcoming
i liked the warmth and attentativeness from Jonathan upon my arrival ; the comfort and the amenity of my bedroom ; and both the service and the food and drink at the bar and in the restaurant - and kippers and poached eggs to die for . `Absolutely first class !
Nothing ...
Excellent breakfast efficiently served in comfortable, warm dining room. Staff pleasant and attentive. Table spotlessly clean. Food cooked to perfection, very good tea ,served in a pot.
Food excellent as was service.
Fewer stairs.
Nice breakfast but as we were a big group I took very long time for everybody to get it.
The location was ideal, very central to the town centre. Breakfast was delicious, cooked to order.
Room was lovely.Comfy bed . Location great.11am check out great .
Everything about our stay was easy and inviting. We took the train to Elgin and just walked a few minutes up the road (there is a well-paved sidewalk for roller bags) to check in. The first level of the hotel has a bar and large restaurant and it is all very warm and welcoming. The rooms are each unique and have the basics of what you need. A few minutes walk from the hotel is a cute town with a bunch of restaurants. Check in was quick and check out was even easier (just leave your key at the front).
The staff where incredible. Very helpful when accommodating my 8 month old. The accommodation/room we had was perfect, having it's own access door with no stairs at the side of the hotel. Food was delicious and perfectly cooked.
I could hear the guests upstairs every word as if they were in the room with me.
the breakfast was excellent as was the evening meal
room away from the main road
The staff was friendly and went the extra mile! They took the time to ask questions and felt welcome. The room was very spacious with a comfortable bed and a nice shower. The choices for food from the restaurant was excellent and was reasonable priced! Definitely if I am back in the area will be staying there hands down!
Actually nothing to be honest! Met my criteria
Very spacious and comfortable room. Bed was super-comfy and bathroom lovely too. Staff couldn’t do enough to help, especially Julie and the team serving dinner and breakfast
Breakfast was perfect and choice was great. Only little criticism as that a bit more Scottishness would have been a nice touch especially for overseas visitors.
Missed having a guests lounge but obviously the space is needed for guest facilities such as dining, etc.
Great staff, great restaurant excellent service
My vacation was to short
Hotel in a good location. Breakfast was fine
Room19 - fitted with a rain shower but poor water pressure made it just a drizzle shower. The room is badly in need of an upgrade. Peeling wallpaper and brown visible wallpaper joins over all the walls indicate a distinct lack of care and attention. This room has obviously been like this for a while. One evening meal was so poor it was deducted from our bill. The other was also poor. We have been all over Europe and the UK with Booking.com over the past 10 years plus and trust their ratings but has been one of our poorest stays ever. We booked two nights but stayed only one.
Food excellent. Would have liked plain yoghurt at breakfast, not flavoured and sweetened.
View from bedroom straight into a wall.
