    Pros +

    • The rooms are beautiful and atmospheric, so well decorated and charming. Beds were super comfy, showers were strong and hot. The room was absolutely spotless and all small details thought of. It was such a nice place to spend the night.
    • Truly, a lovely location and beautiful hotel. The breakfast is incredible. This was my fourth time staying there and every time I enjoy it
    • The building is full of atmosphere, you can feel the history. Bar and restaurant are nice. There is a cosy library room with comfortable chairs and couches. Breakfast is good. Good value for money.

    Cons -

    • Breakfast in the conservatory was beautiful and included in our stay. We asked if we could have an omelette instead of poached eggs and they didn't seem to be able to do that, which was a little odd. In the end they said they could do scrambled eggs with cheese on top, which made me think everything was predone, but it seems like there should be someone in the kitchen who can make an omelette. But honestly if that's my only complaint, it was a great stay. Would absolutely return.
    • The room had a bit of a moldy smell. I supposed to some extent that is to be expected in such an old building.
    • The temperature dropped to zero at night and the toilet was not warm enough.

I went in November 2025 it was very cold to visit the Cotswolds but the hotel was the cherry on the cake.It was cozy and has a beautiful garden. The breakfast was good and with a nice view on the garden. The room interior was lovely and warm. The reception was helpful and nice.

The temperature dropped to zero at night and the toilet was not warm enough.

Very cozy and tastefully decorated. The lobby area with the fire and the library were very comfortable and it felt like a very relaxing place to be.We were in the Lavender room, which looked just like the pictures and it was very clean and comfortable.Overall the hotel retains its old building charm but at the same time it has been renovated to have modern amenities (like USB and USB-C plugs on the walls). The reception staff was very nice and helpful, too!We had dinner and some drinks at the restaurant and bar and everything was absolutely delicious.Breakfast was very yummy too.

The restaurant staff seemed a bit less courteous than the bar and reception staff.

Location is perfect, walking distance to everything around (it’s a small town btw). Very friendly staff, hotel is beautiful and the food in the restaurant was great!

A bit pricey but elsewhere is almost the same around the Cotswolds

We had a lovely dinner and breakfast in the restaurant. The room was cozy but small for us.

It was right on a busy road, so somewhat noisy. The room was pretty small.Price was high for what we got.

On the Main Street in town. Close to the bus stop to take you to stow in the wold and bourton on the water. Very good breakfast.

    10WinfreePosted on: 9-29-2025

The room was delightful, a suite actually. Bath was accomodating and clean. The restaurant was excellent. Even with other choices, we ate several meals at the Manor House. Breakfast, which was included, was exceptional. The location was excellent. We took an Uber from the train station but easily could have walked. We walked back to the train station.

The "queen bed" was really two twins pushed together. There was a gap between the beds, a crack. Not the most comfortable unless you stay "on your side of the bed."

The hotel was charming, clean, and very conveniently located in town. It was an easy 8 to 10 minute walk from the train station. What we enjoyed most about The Manor House Hotel was the food! We ate both breakfast and dinner both nights we stayed and couldn't be happier about it. The dinners in particular were spectacular!

We have nothing negative to say. The staff was courteous and professional and treated us very well. Our overall experience was exceptional.

Location was great. Great breakfast & dinner. Has a pub.

    10KaylaPosted on: 9-13-2025

Wonderful staff, wonderful cocktails in the bar, wonderful breakfast. 10/10 property. The rooms are so charming and well decorated, and I had everything I needed. My room was also quiet enough to sleep with windows open because of its location off the garden vs on the main street. Just book!

I only wish I'd been able to book two nights here!

    9KarlaPosted on: 9-11-2025

This is the second time I’ve stayed here. Lovely facility. Great location. And the friendliest staff!

The bed pillows were not to my liking.

    9DavidPosted on: 9-4-2025

Room was lovely. Service at breakfast. The hotel was clean and comfortable.

Somewhat of a maze and lots of doors to get to our room.

    10DorothyPosted on: 9-4-2025

Staff was most accommodating. Bar staff, in particular, was attentive to a T. Rooms were very comfortable. Loved the decor throughout! Super convenient.

Bed were too hard for me— my bones actually hurt while trying to sleep. Pillows too thin.

Full of character, good location, friendly staff. GRANDE breakfast.

    Location and garden

Ridiculous stairs and doors to get to our room. Property was understaffed and not well run. Restaurant rooms were not fully open with 60 plus rooms

    Property is nice

    - Breakfast was not great - towels were dirty- no value for money

    8JohnPosted on: 8-5-2025

We loved this location for the proximity to the train station. The gardens were beautiful, staff were so helpful and the breakfast was very good.

Only thing that was a negative for us was no central air conditioning. We would stay again, just in cooler months. Housekeeping brought us an additional fan to accommodate, we were very thankful.
