    Pros +

    • We had a lovely spacious room, very comfortable, huge bathroom, robes provided. Comfy settee and armchairs in the room as well.
    • The breakfast and dinners we had were delicious. Room was perfect for our needs. Had coffee and tea for the morning to get us started and just enough space.
    • It’s a lovely property, well-maintained, nice tub in room (2), clean. Staff were nice and helpful (Sarah, thanks, and Elliot who helped store our bikes). Good bicycle storage. Cool history. Great outdoor patio.

    Cons -

    • Breakfast was not available on Saturday morning until 8pm. The breakfast was £15 per person, we could have got tea/coffee and pastries but nothing cooked before 8am and we had to leave at 8am so no breakfast before we left. However, there was tea and coffee making facilities in the room with a couple of biscuits.
    • My only small thing was the bed was too soft for my liking but that's just me. Others who prefer a soft bed will be very happy.
    • Dinner was very good and the restaurant was attractive, but service was uneven for such a nice place. Nobody came to take our order for a long time and dinner was paced unevenly. Minor complaint.

This place is amazing, beautiful rooms, location and great pub. A must stay!! Stayed an extra night!!!

    Just everything!!!!

One of my favorite hotels that I have stayed at (and we have traveled quite a bit); they seemed to think of all the details from warm cookies in the room upon arrival to thoughtful touches throughout and extremely friendly staff. Beautiful grounds as well and an exceptional restaurant with great atmosphere.

Nothing to note on our side but for others, if guests have concerns about climbing stairs to their room, would just double check you are not staying in one of the upper floor rooms but plenty of options at ground level too!

It was very pretty! Great location, staff and service!!!!! Very good breakfast!Fresh water bottles everyday and cookies.

Broken shower handle, i cut myself with it a bit because it slipped out of my hand. (Room 5) Too soft for me personally

Friendly staff. The pub the seating outside.

Lack of staff in the dining area, restaurant closed way too early. The wait staff seem to be multi tasking.

Friendly staff and comfortable accommodation. Very dog friendly!

TV in the room was a bit old school, need one that's larger and more up date. Bar meal very average.

It was beautiful and the staff were lovely. The food was great in the restaurant too!

no fault to the hotel but others who stayed were loud in the morning and let their doors slam so we didn’t get a great sleep.

Attended a wedding and stayed the night. Excellent food at reception, lovely location and venue friendly staff, and comfortable bedrooms

The Hotel is beautiful as are the surrounding grounds with the stream flowing through them. We had dinner in the restaurant on the first night and the risotto was absolutely delicious and the lemon meringue dessert was huge! The rooms are really comfortable, clean and well appointed. Breakfast was amazing, so much choice and beautifully prepared. I would definitely stay here again!

The bathroom with our room was very small, but I think that's part of the charm of the old building. The nearby A40 is quite noisy and busy.

    8RachelPosted on: 4-22-2025

Friendly staff. The building is charming. We had a beautiful room with lovely lighting and furnishings and a great shower. Lovely atmosphere in the restaurant and nice food.

It was a lovely room but sadly the bed was uncomfortable due to being memory foam, and the room was hot with only a small window. When we arrived there was really loud music blaring out across the car park - just felt a bit chavvy and didn't suit the lovely feel of the hotel. Luckily we couldn't hear it inside.

    7RebeccaPosted on: 4-17-2025

The room was beautiful as was the setting.

Staff were lovely but didn't seem enough of them as service was a little bit slow.

    7TomPosted on: 4-17-2025

Very comfortable stay in a beautiful location, but the drinks are a bit overpriced, and who I think were the kitchen staff were playing music quite loudly until 1pm and it started again at around 0730. Which isn't a massive problem cause I get that people want music to work cause it's more productive, just maybe not rap music.

    8DanPosted on: 4-9-2025

Location was beautiful although car noise from nearby road could be heard outside. Dinner was fantastic and staff were super friendly.

    More fruit at breakfast please.

    5GaryPosted on: 4-1-2025

Nice room, albeit cold when I arrived. Once I turned the heating on it warmed up nicely.

No atmosphere in hotel, restaurant or bar

    10CarolynnPosted on: 4-1-2025

Breakfast was excellent as were the staff

Just our shower was very slippery and the water came out of the sides of the shower, my husband did mention this as we were concerned that it may be a health risk for another visitor and Frogmill.

We stayed for one night in a beautiful family room - plenty of space for two adults and a toddler, and it was great that we could request a cot to be left in the room for our arrival. The bed was super comfortable, the towels were nice and fluffy, and our toddler loved the giant bath tub. The grounds are very pretty, and we had a lovely dinner and breakfast in the restaurant. Two small complaints about the room - the couch wasn’t very comfy, and there was a crack in the top of the TV screen. We didn’t watch it for long enough to care, but for a longer stay it might be a bit annoying.

    8AledPosted on: 3-31-2025

The staff were very friendly and accommodating, could not fault them at all. We stayed in one of the cottages, the room was great and had everything we needed. Would recommend!
