    Pros +

    • Loved everything - friendly welcome, excellent service, food, drinks, atmosphere and of course the room itself!
    • The lovation, accommodations, staff, and food were all excellent. Our favorite stay of the trip.
    • We stayed in the drum and monkey room which occupies the whole top floor. Very spacious, modern decor mixed to together with Cotswold charm. One of the reasons we choose to stay here was to take on the Coln St Andrew walk which led into the lovely village of Bibury and the well know Arlington way. It’s great walk. Highly recommend staying here.

    Cons -

    • Nothing to explore in this town.
    • Honestly nothing wasn't to our liking. If we were being picky the room is a little dark in one corner (maybe an additional light?) and the bed sloped down a little on the left hand side. The shower head dripped throughout our stay, but that is something easily fixed and you could only hear it when actually in the bathroom as there is a good, solid door from the bedroom so it did not disturb us.
    • I liked the place.

Location for seeing the Cotswolds. Atmosphere of a traditional Pub and Inn. Nice bedding. Decor.

Nothing to explore in this town.

The room was stylish and very clean, the bed comfy and the pub is set in a beautiful village. Breakfast was delicious with good choices. We arrived later than planned due to traffic and they were so accommodating moving the time of our planned dinner booking. On the second day we asked to make an addition to what was on the breakfast menu and nothing was too much trouble. The Sunday roasts we had the day we left were the best we have had. We ate dinner there twice also and both meals were delicious and the menu seasonal and varied. The chips were also fantastic. The pub atmosphere was very friendly and we met Jon who is a great host and very funny. Wish this was our local!

Dinner was excellent, breakfast great. Beers were good, the surroundings were calm and quaint. The room showed an appreciated effort to be stylish.

    I liked the place.

We loved the place. Super quiet village and lovely walks .Had a fabulous room. The beer was top and the wine excellent.Food was tasty and good value. The staff were great.Just a bit of weird thing…it was a blue sky April day but only 15 degrees..but coming to 1900 it was getting really chilly. People were moving inside to get warm..which was chilly too ..everyone wearing puffa jackets and jumpersNumerous people asking for the fireplace to be lit..but the staff were reluctant /scared to light it as it was against the landlords wishes. ( we live in a northern Cotswold Village whose pub has recently been turned around massively by a landlord who sees the positive in the small things..a log burning in the fireplace, tea lights on tables to brighten and warm a dark and cold pub)Apart from that a wonderful stay and would come back

Lovely location, dinner was superb. Breakfast was nice but the bacon was really over cooked.

The room was a lot smaller than it appeared in the photos.

Dislikes a lot of noise from the room above us Fab location and good breakfast

    10ChristinePosted on: 4-7-2025

What a super, friendly pub. We had two wonderful days staying there. The room was very nice and the shower was lovely and hot. The evening meals were great and well presented, and the breakfast was also really good. All the staff, and locals, were so friendly. The village is very pretty and there are some super walks. The walk to Fairford was very picturesque.

Fantastic 3 night stay. Brilliant hosts who were very accommodating. The pub is situated in a beautiful costwold village, perfectly located to nearby Bibury, Bourton-on-the-water, and Cirencester.

Great location. Welcoming and friendly staff.Everything a good quality. Fabulous vegetarian food which was a bonus for us!

    Nothing. All good.

    2LisaPosted on: 3-6-2025

Staff very friendly breakfast lovely. Room cosy with amazing views. Good very good. Lovely location.

Very busy as popular pub but very nosy had to shout to each other as the pub has low ceilings and both nights you could hear people downstairs as if they were in the room with you. One night was a party but we managed to sleep after a while. We had a Cold shower one morning so husband went without a shower.
