    Pros +

    • Staff amazing
    • Loved the Snug Bar and location in town. Rooms were cozy and warms and shower was wonderful.
    • Hotel has maintained it's tradition and charm. Bar is great and breakfast (included w/room) had lots of options for all appetites (vegan included). Morning staff for bfast service were great! Decor in the rooms was lush and great amenities (coffee/tea service, shower gels & shampoos/conditioner). Loved the radio/music.Bonus....everyone has their dogs. Everyone is welcome.

    Cons -

    • Nespresso machine didn't work and wiring hissed at me!!;;
    • Keep in mind this is a very old hotel (1700s), so expect narrow hallways, smaller rooms in general, drafty in common spaces and you'll hear your guests inside and out.
    • The stairs were a bit old, but I think that’s exactly what a vintage house is supposed to be like.

The staff were helpful and friendly, and the food was beyond our expectations—so flavorful and beautifully prepared!! We went there for a family holiday with our puppy, and the room was extremely cozy and warm, with a tranquil atmosphere. The location was perfect; even without a car, we were able to get around with ease. Thank you so much for giving us such an amazing memory!

The stairs were a bit old, but I think that’s exactly what a vintage house is supposed to be like.

We couldn’t stay. We booked a twin deluxe room, the only one they have. A member of staff swapped our room type before we arrived so our room wasn’t available. We were offered two rooms but we wanted to stay together so cancelled the reservation when they offered to do that.

Nothing to say we didn’t stay to comment.

Very convenient to the rail station. The facilities were clean and comfortable. The staff were exceptional! There is a spacious guest lounge, and a lively pub located in the hotel. The breakfast was very good.

It is located on a busy roadway, which makes for a noisy staff, particularly if you are in a front-facing room, as we were. But the traffic dies down in the evening, and does not start up too early.

Beautiful historic hotel that served as a great base for exploring the Cotswolds. Excellent location with lots of great food options from the hotel restaurant itself, to tea rooms, and other pubs/restaurants within few minutes walking. (If you go for dinner at the hotel restaurant the cheesecake is a must try!) For those traveling without a car, the train station is quite close and a nearby bus stop also made it easy to access other villages such as Stow-on-the-Wold and Bourton-on-the-Water. The room itself was well decorated and comfortable. There were many pleasant places around the hotel for guests to relax in the lounges, the bar, or outdoor courtyard. We were staying to celebrate our anniversary and the hotel went out of the way to add on special touches in the room and at dinner. It was a sweet surprise!

Only very minor things - we needed to reserve a specific time for breakfast and when it was clear we would need to change it, getting in touch with the front desk wasn't easy. There was no way to dial reception direct from the room, and when trying to call via the number on the website we didn't get any answer. Also within the room found the desk and bathroom shelves to be a bit dusty.

We loved staying in your beautiful inn. We had breakfast and dinner there too. Everything was great!

Your inn is filled with so much history. You should give a history talk for guests. Guests would love it and appreciate your inn even more.

Our room was precious, and the soft classical music playing when we arrived was a nice touch. The location was superb and easily walkable with luggage from the train station.

Our shower head didn't work so we only had a bath, which made washing quite challenging. In addition, our sink had both a cold and hot water spigot, making warm water an impossibility.

The property was very clean and quaint for our visit, located in the Cotwolds.

The property was amazing in every way but that felt the location was a bit quiet in a very small town with only a couple pubs. If you are looking for more to do at night, I would recommend Stratford-upon-Avon.

Charming, well designed, clean and comfortable.

    10GaryPosted on: 9-29-2025

Loved the antique roses outside the large room - very fragrant! Good food and good beer. In the heart of town and only a short walk to the train station.

Great old buildings, nicely kept, huge room, friendly staff.

Our room had a huge whirlpool bath in the bedroom that made it rather odd. The decor in that particular room was not attractive.

The evening meal was very good quality and well presented.Breakfast was a bit chaotic with items 'off' menu mid service and staff often to busy to provide an efficient service.

We were told we had been upgraded - thank you - but the room was small and a chair had to moved to gain access to the wardrobe.Early morning the water went off and when queried at reception we were told it was off for scheduled maintenance work some warning if scheduled would have been helpful.

Loved the history of the building, great location, the courtyard

Rooms were very warm - a small fan was provided but didnt cool the room that much

    9MehjabeenPosted on: 9-8-2025

Excellent location, great service, comfortable big rooms with comfortable beds.

    8GaryPosted on: 9-5-2025

    Great location and quiet room

No mirror over the sink in the bathroom and no electrical outlet in bathroom for blow dryer. Breakfast coffee was tasteless so we brought an espresso from our room to make it drinkable.

Clean room, nice tub, good bicycle storage, excellent dinner and breakfast

Room was small although it had what we needed

The White Hart Royal is so charming, with a very kind and attentive staff. Our room was beautiful, breakfast was delicious and it is just a short walk from the train station.
