    Nice location, staff friendly

It was Valentine’s Day and booked a table for two in the restaurant. The restaurant turned out to be a small room with 3 tables in it backing onto the bar with dogs. We were going to walk out but there wasn’t any other places to eat! To start with we were the only ones in the room. There was no atmosphere , no background music and the decor tired. The staff were pleasant and the food and wine were nice. Bill was £108 which we thought a bit excessive. My partner was very disappointed with the evening and me! Just hoping she’s still with me for next year’s Valentine’s Day!!

We stayed here for one night for our wedding anniversary and we weren’t disappointed. The staff were lovely & friendly. Our room was clean and very comfortable and given the terrible weather, it was nice & warm. Being as it was raining so much we decided to watch the England Rugby game in the comfort of the bar, by the log fire. We had a lovely evening meal in the restaurant and again, the staff were excellent. I highly recommend the sea bass. Breakfast was your usual selection of cereals, fruits and hot food which was self service. We wouldn’t think twice about returning, but perhaps when the weather is better so we can see more of the area. The outside seating area looks like it would be great in the summer. And did I mention the staff were great :-)

Absolutely nothing to dislike. And the onsite parking was good.

The location of the hotel is great both for the local amenities and as a base for touring the Cotswolds. Lovely fluffy white towels. We met some lovely people there too at The Pudding Club held there on Friday evening.

The room needs a bit of a personality injection and a general upgrade. Very bland and tired.

We were there for a party.

The room was very tired, old furniture, rust stains in bathroom.

Excellent location in picturesque Cotswold village. Cosy and welcoming foyer and bar with nice warm fires. Staff were friendly, helpful and hospitable .Rooms were really clean and comfortable .Liked the choice of a bath or shower with plenty of hot water. Breakfast was really good ,with a great choice ,including varied selection of fruit and cereals .The full English was a proper local breakfast, with really friendly hostessing courtesy of Sally! We had a meal in the hotel on one of the evenings and it was delicious -would recommend the shoulder of lamb (the price of the meals was similar to the two other hostelries in Mickleton.) A particular bonus is 'Happy Hour ' at the bar in the afternoon (which lasts until 6pm ).There was also a scenic view of the hotel garden and the village from our window ,which also indicates the potential for a pleasant Summer afternoon or evening in their beer garden. We will return!

    Perfect stay.Thanks.

We took our Dog and the room was great with a little garden he could use

The location was beautiful. The thing I loved most were the staff, especially the lady on the check in who was so friendly and helpful. It makes a massive difference to be greeted by a friendly helpful face x

Friendly staff, good breakfast, happy hour in the bar, cozy feel to the hotel

Had to move room as the beer cooler was running from 5.45 am to 10.45 pm and the noise was intrusive but they let us move and were very gracious about it so full marks to them.

Lovely building, clean tidy and comfortable

Breakfast was good, the pub serves good food, friendly. The town is relatively quiet unlike the major tourist areas around. Makes for a pleasant experience.

There was a heat wave and there is no air conditioning ( don't think anywhere in the Cotswolds has air conditioning). The first two days were hot, the parking lot fills up fast.

    Location is fantastic

Tired room. Bed very small. TV appalling, no antenna reception. Very underwhelming.

We enjoyed an evening meal on our first night we had planned to eat in the bar but it was so busy and noisy that we requested to eat in the restaurant. Food was good - service was excellent.Breakfast on both days was excellent and the staff were very attentive. We booked a superior double as a treat and were not disappointed.

The bar is a public bar and was extremely busy with locals coming in for a New Year Drink - they were loud and stood around the bar area making it difficult to get in and out.Our room was directly above the bar and there was some noise but it didnt spoil our stay - could be an issue when the weather is warmer.

    9DeenaPosted on: 1-8-2026

Breakfast was very good quality. Comfortable rooms, and excellent staff.

maybe the floors were creaky - so when you're trying to leave early from the top floor, and you're trying to be quiet, its difficult to do so. Nothing other than that minor issue (for others, not myself)

Breakfast was really delicious and in a lovely dining room. Lovely clean, comfortable and quiet room with much appreciated kettle, hot drinks and biscuits.

Room was a little cold when we first arrived in our room but soon warmed up when we turned the radiator up. Also we didn’t realise the heating would go off in the evening so we did get a bit cold later on also.

Lovely breakfast and decent priced bar

We paid extra for a themed room but I didn’t really see the benefit of that
