Pros +
- Lovely room, great bed which was very comfy. Beautiful bathroom. Maria at reception was lovely and incredibly attentive. My breakfast was delicious!
- Very well presented in high quality furnishings and design Rooms were well equipped and very tasteful decorated . Staff were very attentive and pleasant exceptional communication skills, Meals were served with a lot of attention to presentation , excellent food
- The room was spacious with an excellent and comfortable bed. Complimentary water, coffee, biscuits etc. are available too. A unique feature is that there are no keys and one controls access to the room (and to the premises) through a keypad - code given at check-in. I parked at the front but there's parking at the back of the property as well. The staff is very friendly and welcoming too.One is given a card to order breakfast for the next day (to be put into a slot outside your room door by 11 pm). The breakfast (French Toast) was excellently made and delivered on time (I asked for a 7 am breakfast). It was delicious and I will probably choose the same for my next stay!
Cons -
- I could hear everything happening in the reception/lobby area and at the front door. Bathroom floor was very cold and no bathmat.
- Could not fault the Hotel
- The control dial on the heater in my room had all its functions rubbed off so I had to guess the functions to increase/decrease the heating. Also, the bathroom didn't have a radiator which could be a problem during peak winter.

Big room with comfortable bed. Location is good to travel to Birmingham centre via train. Free parking in front of the hotel.
There is no heating in the bathroom. So it was so cold that I reduced the stay to a minimum as needed in the bath ?The breakfast is not what I expected from a hotel in this price category. Don’t take the Shakshouka. The pre-booking of the breakfast did not work because they lost our order so they called in the morning while still in bed…
Staff very helpful, room exotic, food was beautiful and different than the normal.
Excellent breakfast cooked for us by Maria, who was friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Large stylish room with comfy bed. Hotel is on an attractive quiet square with on-street parking right outside.
Room service menu was expensive and there weren't many restaurants nearby.
This is a charming hotel, picturesquely set in Church Square. The room was spacious and beautifully furnished. There were no evening dining facilities, but breakfast was excellent with a wide range of options.I am lucky to have stayed in hotels all around the World, but it would be hard to beat the friendly and helpful welcome we got from Maria!
Room was chilly when I arrived.
The receptionists were very professional. The room was well furnished with style. TV has access to multiple streaming services so lots of choices available
No lift in the facility and the stair was a bit narrow for large suitcases.
Unique style, friendly, personable service and great breakfasts.
STAY WELL CLEAR!!!
Woken 4 times(!!!) during the night by a couple above us making a racket - won't go into detailsTold by the woman "we've as much right as you do: we've paid for this room"Complained to the Out-of-hours when they eventually picked up the phone (2 out of the 4 times) - see more on this below:Upstairs quietened down for a while then clearly started up again after each occurrenceWe were given an extra 2hrs for late check-inI wrote an email of complaint and in the meantime found out that I was down as a No-Show by the hotel - their way of getting out of paying the fee to Booking.comThe email was never responded to so I had to chase with phone callsEventually 2wks later I received a phone call from a "joint-owner" and had to explain the whole issue all over again (as if I was lying!)Bottom line they weren't interested in financial compensation, just 50% off next stay; as if!And regarding their landline: Option 1 (room reservations), Option 2 (Meeting and Events), Option 3 (general hotel information) and Option 4 (All other enquiries, INCLUDING OUT OF HOURS): the building can't take meetings nor events and Option 4 (which I started to use in the middle of the night, obviously) states "sorry, you have entered invalid details, goodbye"!!!". I told them this weeks ago and it's STILL not working!! Until I found out about the bedroom phone having an out-of-hours dial button, I had to resort to putting my complaint into the Booking.com "contact the hotel"Finally; who has turkey sausages in and English breakfast?...In short, creaking floorboards, uncaring owners, the area is a dump (loud pub across the road and nothing nearby to see) so suggest you stay WELL CLEAR!
Not good at all
Room was very hot.Noisy.Overpriced in a bad neighborhood.
Clean, comfortable & cool ?
Parking wasn’t the best
Location was good for my meeting.Breakfast choice good.Room individual i.e. boutique style, not 'chain hotel' style.Receptionist really lovely, friendly and helpful.
Access via residential flats and dark garage area. Adjacent properties very run down e.g. broken windows (one possibly abandoned?).Car needed to be parked on pavement as road too narrow to allow other vehicles to pass.Room smelt and felt damp - I put a T shirt over my pillow and slept with clothes on (couldn't leave windows open as ground floor room). Tooth paste over sink surround, vanity set and shower cap boxes both wet and empty and bathroom bin not emptied. No full length mirror and other mirror too high (I'm not short). Room too dim to read even with all lights on. Side lights needed to be turned off from main switch. No instructions for TV, so couldn't read (see previous comment) or watch TV.Breakfast fine but didn't live up to expectations as it was pre-cooked and kept warm - also very minimal amount of salmon, I struggled to find it.
Breakfast was amazing
More tea coffee milk in the room
Breakfast excellent.Maria is amazeballs!!!!
Noise during night from drunken guests.Outside hotel control.
Lady at reception was brilliant!! very helpful and accommodating! Comfy bed, interesting decor throughout, Great breakfast too!!
Towel and glass in room looked dirty. (Everything else was spotless)
Rooms are very nicely decorated and staff were very nice and welcoming. Bed was really comfy and breakfast was overall very nice.
There were a couple of things that could be improved: - breakfast sausage was ver poor quality snd they did not have butter. - there was a terrible damp smell coming out from the bathroom
The welcome to Domo is always 100%, the staff are friendly and attentive. I stayed in a different room this time which was lovely and they are all very unique and clean
I am bit of a coffee snob so something better than instant in the room wold be greatly received. I took my own coffee bags this time. Breakfast is always nice but sometimes something simple, scrambled eggs and salmon or bacon would be nice.
It’s a beautiful boutique hotel in a Georgian building in a quiet area, with parking available. The rooms are beautifully decorated, the staff very friendly and helpful, especially Maria. Comfortable bed, lovely shower, good breakfast choice. You couldn’t fault anything at the hotel except the lack of cooling in this heat currently! I would definitely recommend a stay here!
During the extreme heat only one desk fan was provided, which wasn’t sufficient and when we requested another we were advised they couldn’t provide another fan and that we would have to go and purchase one from Sainsbury down the road! Also minor communication issues, where we had late checkout at 1.00pm, I couldn’t use my code to get back in yesterday morning around 11.30am, but they do have a good intercom system so I was able to get in.The cleaner wasn’t aware we had late check out, knocked and opened our room door!
Nice choice of different items to choose from for breakfastSpotlessly cleanWonderful decorHost Maria could not have been more helpful
