- No thing
- Location and gardens Good breakfast Nice terrace Pool and spa ( although too crowded)
Cons -
- Wasn't a great choice of evening menu but covered basics, had to complain about my over cooked tough sliver of fish hidden inside my huge piece of air filled batter, but it happens, item struck from bill and free deserts so effectively compensated for.
- Very old building, bad smell old carpet and furniture
- Run down Tired decor Old worn carpets Tired bathroom Sink plug stuck No bottled water in rooms Cheap biscuits in rooms Very expensive

The staff were lovely. They were the best thing about the stay. Welcoming, helpful, friendly and not precious about anything. It was good having lots of play space for kids when having a drink/food.
Same as the other reviews. Sadly, very tired. In desperate need of refurb. The restaurant wasn’t good either. Waited an hour and 10 minutes for some very poor food in a restaurant which wasn’t very busy. The worst food I’ve had for some time sadly. They really need to do something about it as I can see it’s a theme in reviews. Wish we’d read them before booking!
Garden I like
No shampoo in bath no fridge
The staff, breakfast, bar area was lovely.
The wing and room were very dated and walking to the rooms was unwelcoming.
The location, parking & grounds. The bar food and drink choice
The noise. The bathroom fan when you turn on the light was so noisy, the tap dripped all night and made for a terrible sleep. I was woken at 5am with trades leaving for work banging doors ( no soft close) and talking loudly. ( The cosy rooms seem to be on the top floor and occupied by trades) The room also overlooked the delivery area when at 6am a noisy refrigerated lorry delivered and kept the engine running and the member of staff woke me again with his shouting. I have stayed before on the middle floor and had none of these problems so was very disappointed. I also witnessed the bar manager talking to the male bar staff and felt it was a conversation he should have had more discretion about and maybe in private.
Pleasant surroundings, friendly staff, adequate accommodation.
Restaurant was poor. I have coeliac disease so menu was limited. Ordered a curry which was extremely poor and I had to return it. (On check out the duty manager offered a free meal on our next stay).
Good bed and gym. Entrance area and bar area. Great condiments and toiletries in bathroom and bedroom
Leisure facilities were not overly clean and lights were off. One evening the steam room was not working. Fire alarm went off in the middle of the night but no one came to say it was a false alarm. Room was dusty. Quite a walk to the bedroom from the reception
The breakfast was good
Miserable rude staff. Faulty fire alarm that went off 3x in the early hours. Dirty carpets and slack cleaners. All in all a very unpleasant experience. For a hotel with such beautiful grounds the staff don't care about their guests or making sure the rooms are clean. TV didn't work.
Peaceful and great location staff were very helpful.
Cocktail and evening bar staff not great. Would get hot in summer
Great hotel in a fabulous location! Reception staff, especially Nadine were really friendly and helpful. Lovely breakfast and I really enjoyed use of the swimming pool and steam room!
Nothing!
Amazing staff, Mark and Scarlet on reception and servers and bar anticipated our every need.Everything you could want is catered for.Breakfast exceptional!Comfy beds.Played table tennis and giant connect four in the grounds.Lovely pool and gym facilities. Very old building which is completely charming but a little tired which is expected.
Cleaning in the bathroom could have been better.
breakfast
Being woken up 3 times by a faulty fire alarm and and then the hoover at 9am
Good location Nice bar area
Room was tired
Room, breakfast, decor, facilities, location, Boy Band Tribute Event
Tea & Coffee in room.
The breakfast was very good the building was adequate quite good for the cost but getting a little tired.
Paid £137 for one night stay does not include breakfast room was dark dire and gloomy over looking the fire escape and clearly near staff living quarters as could hear them talking all night and cars pulling up every five minutes the decor was awful the room seriously needed updating and decorating plugs in sockets looked dangerous and when you arrive hostile reception just a number checking in “no good afternoon enjoy your stay “ same when you check out hostile response whole hotel is shabby and dire and will never stay here again rather of gone to the premier inn in a room three times bigger all you can eat breakfast and half the price
All of it
Staff was very friendly and nice
The bath room was clean dry skin and toe nails on the bathroom floor. Also crisp crumbs found near the shower
breakfast was exceptionally good
heating was turned off due to customer complaints of being oo hot the previous week - however blankets were provided
