    Pros +

    • The food was amazing! Definitely book a table when you stay here. The room was comfortable, quiet, and clean. The staff were attentive and quick to help out.
    • A place with a character, something missing these days. Very affordable prices plus a hearty breakfast. Excellent customer service, a family atmosphere, a wonderful, romantic garden, and a great bar. I would recommend this place to anyone.
    • Excellent staff, very welcoming & lovely food. Busy with locals which is always a good sign.

    Cons -

    • No. Everything was great.
    • The windows in the bedroom have privacy film on them due to the room being next to the carpark, so no view. I can see why it's been done, but blinds might be better?
    • Very busy village pub and our booking for a meal had not been recognised. We were fitted in but sat by an open door and lots of comings and goings.

Ideal stopping off point en route from Cornwall to London.

Very busy village pub and our booking for a meal had not been recognised. We were fitted in but sat by an open door and lots of comings and goings.

Sarah and all the staff were very welcoming and our meal in the evening was delicious. The room was warm enough with good facilities. It had a lovely atmosphere in the bar and there wasn't any noise reaching upstairs. Parking was easy and the roads were quiet.. Communication was great prior to arrival. We will happily stay again next time we are in the area. Thank you all for a relaxing stay.

Everything else absolutely fine. One minor thing waa when we had just arrived and were waiting to go down for dinner we could hear some loud knocking and tapping coming from the next room, but this had stopped when we got back and the night was peaceful.

The hostess was very attentive, warm and kind. The facilities were good, as was the food and the beer. I would definitely stay here again, and will invariably do so as the event I attended local to this place is an annual event.

This is being super critical and by no means tarnished my view that this was an excellent stay however the large overhead shower head was too big for the shower cubicle. I do like a large overhead shower head but I found it difficult to lather up with shampoo whilst trying to not have the suds immediately rinse off.

Staff was very welcoming and responsive and the breakfast was fantastic! Rooms are recently re-done and were quiet and comfortable.

I think Sarah & Paul could not have been anymore helpful and The Very Experienced Chefs turned out very good food.

    Very clean room, nice shower.

Breakfast was lovely and evening was really good proper pub food and not badly priced

The landing area outside the rooms smelt musty and damp

    9NicolaPosted on: 8-5-2024

Clean rooms, welcoming bar. Popular restaurant

The weather had been humid causing our upstairs room to be hot, perhaps a fan in the room when the weather is hot.

Great location for our needs, comfortable and clean room, good food and drink selection, friendly staff and a lovely breakfast.

    9WilliamPosted on: 7-22-2024

Easy check in. Nice comfy room. Pretty hanging baskets. Very nice cooked breakfast.

White curtain. No blackout. Light streaming in at sunrise so difficult to sleep after that. Also would have liked cold buffet breakfast options eg museum yoghurt and berries. Only cooked available.

The rooms and pub were really lovely! Spacious, clean and well equipped :). The food in the pub was excellent!

    Nothing! It was FAB!

Breakfast very good Room small but clean and tidy.Nice staff made a pleasant stay and lovely garden area.

Shower quite slippery we had to get a bath mat .

    10KarinPosted on: 4-22-2024

Room was fresh and clean with a comfy bed and a great bathroom including a roll top bath. Lovely fluffy towels. Plenty of tea and coffee in the room. The meals were nicely presented and delicious. Host was very friendly and helpful.

    7DebraPosted on: 2-21-2024

The breakfast was well cooked and delicious. Good quality sausages and lovely crusty bread. Well presented. The evening meal was outstanding. Best pub food we've ever had. Great service too.

The bed was uncomfortable. Awful scratchy duvet cover and lumpy pillows. The towels were like rags and need upgrading. No sign of the free shortbread as advertised!
