- Staff were very welcoming and helpful. My dog was welcomed too. I booked a single room and was really pleased with the comfort and facilities. It was clean and smelt good. I already knew there would be a live band playing that evening and I lay in bed listening to a really good Blues band. Bonus.Lovely outdoor seating area with room for kids to play. Easy walk to the town centre with its variety of shops.Would definitely book there again.
- cute room for the price
- Nice clean room, nice shower.
Cons -
- Everything was lovely . Would have been nice to have its own car park though. Free car parking at Tesco behind Live and Let Live for 3 hours and then I managed to find an unrestricted space in town for the night.
- I was prepared for the pub noise and it was fine, it is a shame that the door to the apartment slams so loudly though. I appreciate that it was keeping me secure but if there's any way it could close less loudly I think that would be worth looking into
- Tiny fridge that didn’t keep food cool. Noisy fan in bathroom, very noisy until after 11pm, noise from other rooms and pub below.

Nice clean room, nice shower.
Tiny fridge that didn’t keep food cool. Noisy fan in bathroom, very noisy until after 11pm, noise from other rooms and pub below.
The locations was perfect. Clean and just the right size and value for money. The little extra's like biscuits and water were a great addition.
Excellently located and really happy with the fresh smelling, clean linen and towels.
The shower wash was half used and hadn't been changed. I'd also like a mat for the shower. Let guests know WiFi details?
Clean and comfortable. I would stay there again.
A few trivial problems (the tiny amount of shower gel they provided wasn't enough for a 3 night stay), but minor compared to the overall good value. There is no parking provided. Late on Saturday night I could notice some noise from the pub below, but I got to sleep easily, so not a problem for me; quieter on the other days.
It was warm, very comfy bed! Really good location and the staff were lovely.
Nothing! It was great. The parking is a 10 minute walk but there’s plenty of spaces and it’s easy!
The room was a good size and was clean with great facilities no issues with the room at all
It you have issues with stairs this is not the place for you as have to climb an outside metal stair case. Knew there would be some noise as the is about a pub however the music was so loud this was going on until gone 1am in the morning the only reason this went off then as because we complained the rooms are on top of the outside area and people are so loud as was still screaming at 2am in the morning knew to expect some noise but pub suppose to shut at 11pm!!!
it was clean and comfortable with all you needed for short stay.shower, toilet,TV,heater, kettle, plenty storage, warm and cosy
Very clean and spacious accommodation, electric heaters so was able to control the temperature in the room. Nice and clean bathroom with shower.Warm and friendly atmosphere in the pub downstairs, friendly and sociable locals.Central location with various restaurants within a short walk. Although the accommodation is above the pub the noise is negligible and didn’t affect me either of the two nights I stayed
We always stay here when visiting family in Downham Market. It’s just been refurbished room 1 is spacious and lovely.
Spacious, comfy bed, refurbished. Would recommend if visiting Downham Market.
Close to shops , bus station, supermarket a stone throw away . Few restaurant close by .
The outside stairs to going in to my room . Not bad though.
I work in travel and always rate properties on what they say they offer, what they actually offer and the price they charge for it. The Live & Let Live said there would be noise & music because my room was over a pub and there was. But because they told me about it I came with ear buds to watch a film & ear plugs for sleeping so it was no big deal. Outside of that the room was freshly decorated, spotlessly clean, with a comfy bed, great shower & lots of extra touches such as a bottle of water, toiletries & a mini fridge. That’s why I rated it 10/10 because for the price they charge it’s an exceptional place to stay. Great communication & v friendly helpful staff too.
Nothing. Anyone who complains has not read the description properly.
The staff were welcoming . Room was fresh and modern clean and well organised.
Stairs leading to the rooms.
Spotless and beautifully decorated. Everything is new and impecable with everything one needs. Staff really helpful and friendly. Affordable and very close to all amenities. NOTE THAT THEY CLEARLY MENTION THAT THERE IS KARAOKE AT THE WEEKEND SO DO TAKE EARPLUGS IF YOU WANT AN EARLY NIGHT OTHERWISE..IT IS SUPERB.
The accommodation was very clean and is accessed via an external staircase, so no need to go through the pub after check-in. The bathroom is quite compact, but clean and it appeared newly fitted. There is a kettle in the room and a mini fridge, but no breakfast option. As described, it is a budget room in a pub, but I couldn't fault it at the price. A good value option for a one-night stay in the area. The staff were very helpful.
No onside parking, but found free parking nearby. No hairdryer in the room.
The location was good and the room was very clean
There is no Wi-Fi and no hairdryer! Being female both are essential in my opinion. I've never know a place to not provide these two items. They've only got 4 rooms, wouldn't cost a fortune to provide a hairdryer in each. Couldn't wash my hair during my 3 day stay. Also nowhere to hang wet towels, not even a hook on the back of the bathroom door, and the bathroom mirror was tiny and too high! (Hand for scale)REPLY - Yes I did speak to bar staff about both issues. I was told that the Wi-Fi was for the sky tv in the bar only and not for guests and there were no hairdryers. I said 'not even one!' and the barmaid replied no! There was no effort made to rectify either issue.
Location is good but unfortunately no parking at the hotel. No food but plenty of walkable cafes which serve breakfast.
Anyone with problems climbing stairs the entrance to the rooms is on the outside of the building but it does say in their booking site so make sure it will be suitable
Fantastic value for money! I needed simple, basic accommodation for one night and based my selection largely on the very low price. The Live and Let Live exceeded my expectations - very clean, fresh en-suite room with tea and coffee making facilities, packet of biscuits, bottle of water and mini fridge. Comfy bed and no noise issues from the pub downstairs. Plenty of car parking within a few minutes walk and restaurants, Tesco and Greggs all nearby. And the pub itself is fine as well.
Nothing of note.
Location was central
Noise from the Saturday night karaoke was very loud making sleep impossible. I was expecting a 11.30 finish as declared by hotel, but the music didn’t quiet down until well after this time - the early hours!!
