- Great location good food and friendly staff
Cons -
- My only criticism would be the mattress was not very comfortable.
- Difficulty parking, as there is another pub and there were lots of cars for river activities, which is apparently a regular occurrence in good weather!

Beautiful location, welcoming friendly staffGreat foodSea bass was perfect, sticky toffee pudding..wow !Breakfast fantastic!Good selection of spirits and drinks, but a bit pricey..They had Hawkstone, Clarkson's Lager on draught, very nice, but £7.50 a pint !

Friendly staff, parking, beautiful location by the river, very clean, excellent food and drinks
Location: warm and friendly atmosphere: peaceful Village.....easy to travel around to other villages, and into Norwich itself;
Nothing I did not like.....
Very clean, great food at the pub, pretty location next to the Broads.
Some noise from the pub / road to be expected
Good bedding. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Location great.
Pillows were very hard. Green light on ceiling was VERY irritating.
The room was ideal for me. Clean and comfortable with all the expected amenities such as tea, coffee, milk and hot chocolate within. The bed was comfortable and the room was fresh and welcoming. Staff attentive and helpful as always.
Excellent breakfast. They provided exactly what I wanted...
Sharing a bathroom and not in room. But was ok.I o k ew it had a shared bathroom but that was all they had left.
Evening meal ,Breakfast great,location great.
Bit pricey on drinks.
lovely, nice and big room, lovely and clean, and staff are nice and kind, however it had a shared bathroom.
The staff were so welcoming, the food was delicious, the cooked breakfast in the morning was fabulous with all quality ingredients. The staff were so accommodating. It was a lovely comfortable triple room, with everything you needed.
Everything was perfect. The tiniest suggestion is a plug socket and little bedside table or shelf next to the single bed, but this is not an issue at all.
Really nice cozy pub vibes right by the water, accessible parking and not too far away from civilisation.
Not a dislike but the inn had a shared bathroom so if it’s busy with guests might have to wait or share
In a great spot by the river. The room was cozy with everything you need for a short stay. The sunday lunch was excellent as was the cooked breakfast.
Nothing to dislike
The room was lovely and the food was really good, definitely recommend having dinner here too. It was clean and comfy and had everything needed for a short stay.
The windows are very thin so at certain times we were woken in a start because it was almost like sleeping in the road.
Looking for a room just for the night within easy access of the Norfolk Mead Spa but without the budget to stay at the spa itself, I couldn't find any hotels or private rentals within a close enough walking distance but I did spot this location with an option to rend the room with private en suite bathroom for a bit more than the standard room. I was expecting it to be a relatively small space, but it ended up being quite spacious - especially the bathroom! I was greeted by a lovely member of staff when I arrived and - despite checking in early by almost an hour - she let me know my room was ready and allowed me to check my stuff in so I could drop bags and head off. The room had a TV, a comfortable bed with 4 pillows (more than you get at a premier inn!), and a coffee/tea/hot cocoa making area.My friend stayed at the pub next door because there wasn't any availability at this one on the same night, and I can see the advantage of staying at the King's Head was that there were some dedicated parking spaces for King's Head customers only. The shared car park is also shared by ramblers and dog walkers as well as those visiting both of the pubs, so it was quite packed when we arrived around noon, but I had no issue because of the dedicated spaces while my friend had a bit more frustration initially and couldn't check in early. We did have a beer and some food at the pub, which I have to say was EXCELLENT. The chips alone were perfect! They were just the right amount of crispy and slaty and I could have easily just had a plate of loaded chips if it were on offer. We had shared some sandwiches and beef in sauce atop a crumpet, all were exceptional and the beer was also great (you can tell they are serving fresh ales at the right serving temperature).Overall fantastic experience and great value for money.
The only things I can think to say that were drawbacks were that the water pressure for the toilet was on the lower side (I didn't take a shower as this was literally only a room for a night with an early departure, so can't comment there but water pressure in sync was fine). If there were two of you needing to use the bathroom in more rapid succession, it might have been more of a problem, but for 1 person for 1 night it wasn't an issue (and is just part of what comes with being in an older building). Definitely not enough to deter me from staying again or recommending to others, but more highlighting in case you are someone with IBS and/or need to use the toilet more frequently just so you are aware. Didn't try to use the bathroom in the downstairs pub area nor the shared bathroom so might also be a non-issue if you use those and equally might've just been a one-off as I didn't use it that much.Other than that, the only thing I can think to mention is that it was rather lively in the evening.....but it is a pub, so you should probably be expecting some level of noise going into it. If you're a light sleeper and/or somebody that likes to go to bed early, it might be more of an issue. I had no problem other than it giving me FOMO as it made me feel like I was going to bed too early while others were still up having a good time! Again, I think because it's a older building, it's harder to keep the noise pollution out of the room as easily but I found that even when other in my friends room at another pub, we had the same experience and she wasn't even directly above the pub so I personally feel it's par with the course of staying at a pub - which provides a unique experience in itself - so probably best to spend more money and stay somewhere private/further afield if this might be an issue for you as I don't think this is a problem with this location in particular.
Lovely location and well equipped room with plenty of tea and coffee. We ate in the pub restaurant on both evenings and breakfast and the food was excellent on all occasions
Nothing to dislike had a little issue with the room radiator not working on the second night so room a bit cool but bathroom was toasty
