- Originally booked 2 nights and ended up booking a 3rd night to stay the staff were very welcoming and accommodating we had a nice spacious room with a sea view and having a restaurant for myself and my partner was a bonus the food was great and generally we found the sands hotel a nice place to stay.
- Food & staff were exceptionally good.
- Everything was great couldnt fault a thing The room was lovely clean ans comfyThe food was very good we had both evening meal and breakfast both where delishThe staff where friendly and very attentive x
Cons -
- Nothing to dislike.
- The room was extremely small with two single beds. Very little storage, not a huge concern as we only stayed one night. Any more would have been an issue. The room heater was on a timer and the room Very cold. I ended up going downstairs where a member of staff changed the setting to remove the timer which solved the problem. Poor signal from TV... flickered on almost every channel. Otherwise, a satisfactory stay. We would return if only fir one night in a double not twin room

Not a thing
Design of room : it looks cosy and homely
I got cold at night but I forgot to earn hotel that I need extra heater cause naturally I get cold and freeze all the time
I loved my room with a seaview. It had all the amenities I needed and felt very comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was delicious. I was visiting family and will definitely stay here next time. Thank you!
Nothing stood out as needing improvement
Very friendly staff. Once you had your room key, you could enter the building any time of night you wanted, as long as you respected the other guests & neighbours. Room I had was en-suite, so didn't need to worry about shared facilities. They accommodated my advanced request for an early arrival (1230pm) so I could attend a family event that started at 2pm nearby.
No obvious reception area for guests staying the night; I had to go into the restaurant area to find a member of staff (who was very helpful though). Not realising how old the building was from the photos. This is only an issue if you're over 6ft tall, as a number of the doors aren't much taller than this. This made the shower a 'cozy' experience.Something not every guest might appreciate is the trainline being about 150m away; wasn't a problem for myself.
Comfortable room, good restaurant, helpful staff

Great views. Friendly staff. Excellent breakfast.
Shower in room 2 barely worked.
Comfortable bed and nice breakfast. Friendly and efficient staff.
Had to flag up a couple of issues on arrival but, to be fair, both the duty manager and the owner were apologetic and took steps to resolve the situation. Also the walls are really thin, you can hear literally everything from the next room. Not ideal if you're a light sleeper.
Location was perfect for close access to beach. Staff were friendly and attentive. The rooms were well sized, clean, comfortable and we had a lovely sea view. Food was excellent and a varied menu with plenty of choices. Parking on site was very welcome.
Nothing!
Hotel and rooms are clean. Breakfast was very good, with a full vegetarian option. Younger staff members very friendly. Fully stocked bar at the pub downstairs. Nice bed linen and a good wee en suite bathroom with an electric shower. Although the other 3 rooms were occupied, it was very quiet on my mid week stay.
The room is IMHO, very overpriced. The Mattress should be changed : it is a saggy coil spring, not comfortable. The 'sea view' , well, first the flat roof, then the car park, then the railway line and then the sea. Disappointing but I believe there is one room where it is very good. I was in room 1, at the top of the stairs. Pub meal was very basic although perfectly enjoyable, a bit overpriced I thought.
The staff, the food, the room view and comfort. Proximity to the beach and shops.
Located in good distance of the beautiful sea shore promenade. Nice to be midway between Edinburgh and St. Andrews with easy access to the train station.
Beds were a bit hard for us.
Very close to the beach but also to the town.Staff were very friendly and helpful. Especially when my son hurt himself on the rocks the staff were very helpful and provided great first aid.
