Breakfast was big and tasty

The view from our window looked out onto a roof

Nice clean room and the breakfast was amazing.

There wasn’t much staff presence when we arrived so didn’t have much assistance finding the room or being made aware of the facilities. The hair drier was also dated and broken.

had to park outwith due to car park being full which wasn`t ideal due to having company van.

We were in Scotland attending a funeral and the wake was held at the hotel and the high tea was lovely and the staff were really accommodating.

Both myself and my sister in law are arthritic and really struggled to flush the toilets in the rooms because the push buttons are really really stiff.

Food was lovely. Room was comfortable and very welcoming staff.

Good decent size rooms and bathrooms. The hotel is not the most modern ( which is of no concern to me ) but spotlessly clean. We dined there and dinner was well cooked and good value. The breakfast was excellent. Staff were helpful and polite.

Breakfast not great bacon like leather potato scone deep fried that is a sacrilege we booked evening meal it was passable have had better have booked again for next year but will forgo dinner and breakfast

Location fine. Breafast menu limited but what was produced was good

No one at reception when i arrived.No ventilation in the room or shower roomIt was necessary to ask for information : eg What is the code needed to get the car out of the car park? What is the password for internet connetion?It was necessary to vacate the room by 10.00 am. Most places make it 11.00 am.

Room 109Carpet stained, walls marked, bathroom dark, shower dial loose, flushing toilet makes cistern lid pop up. Oldest hairdryer I have seen. Breakfast:Cereal or off orange juice. Cooked breakfast potato scones like cardboard.

Central, nice hotel, & friendly staff. Stayed here a few times over the years.

Some staff were pleasant and customer focused.

Apart from 4 cost hangers on a pole there was nowhere to hang clothes, no wardrobe, no dressing table or chest of drawers. Only an 18” round table to place anything on. There was no toilet brush or shower mat in the bathroom. No way to open either the bedroom or bathroom windows, and although closed neither window was capable of silencing the road noise from the Main Street below. Our room was directly above the main bar which was extremely noisy until closing time.We stayed for two nights, our evening meal on the first night was spoiled because the vegetables were stone cold.For our first morning breakfast the waitress was courteous and friendly asking if everything was OK and could she get any else for us. On our second morning breakfast a young man took our order any served us, my wife ordered a cooked breakfast, I only wanted cerial and toast but the only options were rice crispies, co-co pops or cornflakes, I had a small box of cornflakes, NOT good value for money. The waiter did not come back to us to see if we needed anything else, such as more toast or tea, I left feeling quite hungry.

Good location and food

Given a room with no lift access when requested. Not shown buffet breakfast area on first morning. Problems sorted when pointed out but very short staffed.

Food in the restaurant was excellent. Staff were excellent

Bed was very hard. Bathroom was big but decor and finish was rough. Toilet not flushing well. Hand soap was cheap watered down and in an off the shelf cheap bottle dispenser. We should have booked the deluxe room obviously

Location is ideal. Very quiet

Shame the carpark is across the road with a very steep entrance/exit as had a disabled person and walking is an issue.

Good Rooms with easy access with friendly helpful staff

Ellon itself is lovely & the food at Buchan Hotel was fine.

Don’t stay at Buchan if you want to sleep! Loud music & shouting till the early hours both nights.

Hotel was clean and nicely decorated. Cooked breakfast was very good, including the haggis. Friendly staff. Conveniently located for visiting family and chilling at the beach. We didnt get to visit the Chocolate shop but definitely will next time!

The room (120) was lovely but Im certain I booked an extra large bed, as specified at £99 per night but our room had a basic sized double bed and having driven 8 hours, we were too tired to question it...Also there was a cooling generator outside the window so we had to keep the window closed. - not great in August.Sundays breakfast was a bit dried out and they could only offer white toast....
