central location; clean modern bedrooms; excellent breakfast.
No parking at hotel although plenty parking a short walk away.
The best shower of my whole trip! Fabulous staff, helped re-range our stay when flights were cancelled. The room was lovely and spacious but the shower was amazing, hot and strong after walking around on a snowy day. Heavenly!
A really modern hotel in a location 'Orkney' where we did not expect such quality accommodation.

Breafasrv.bacon to crispy, egg not hot enough. Tost machine old fashioned .sausage to well done. Coffee ok.Fruit first class .
Staff reception very good.Foyer lay out just right .lift to floor's very good Room service could be more generous with tea, coffee and biscuits
The location is excellentGreat breakfast and very friendly staff
Location is very close to the town centre. Good WiFi. The room was clean and cleaned daily throughout the stay. On site restaurant with some excellent meals and all of the staff were incredibly helpful.
TV didn't pick up terrestrial channels and it was unclear how to cast from my device to it (if it was even possible). Would recommend taking a laptop/tablet just in case.
Convenient
The food was appalling and overcooked. No proper receptionist and cleaning staff wanting to clean your room by 8.30 am
Location and easy access
Difficult drop off. High tub made shower inaccessible. No optout of pricy breakfast.
Cooked breakfast was very good, fruit, cold meats etc also available. Friendly serving staff. Comfortable King size bed. Bedroom included a kitchenette area. Very convenient location for the town and cathedral, as well as the harbour.
Parking available nearby, though not immediately outside the hotel.
Lovely room and very central location.
Only one staff member in the dining room at breakfast (and she was new and doing her best). This resulted in us having a long wait for breakfast.
We arrived late and the young man at the front desk was waiting for us and ready to check us in. The rooms were comfortable and the whole hotel had a purple theme that is very intentional. The breakfast was not as good as we experienced in our other accomodations but was serviceable and had all of the necessary items to make sure that we were full when on our way. Orkney was a neat place and we wish we would have had more time there. We will definitely be back! Make sure you visit The Magnus Cathedral with the Earl's Castle and the Bishops Palace and then stop at the Italian Chapel and Scara Brae. They are all very interesting and worth the stop.
Room was comfortable, breakfast offering good.
Extra loud music from live music venue downstairs. The hotel should have added a warning about hosting live music until midnight, for the Annual Orkney Rock Festival on booking site for the dates selected. We had booked before we left Australia & would have chosen elsewhere if we had known. It appeared that the hotel was the only place with a late check in from the Shetland ferry. A salutary warning to check " What's on" in destination before booking.
Nice room in new part of the hotel.
Paid parking in public car park limited to 3 hours during the day.
Spanking new room and bathroom, sparkling clean and (even though not quite on the waterfront) the best location in town. Geeat cooked breakfast to order, though remaining buffet items could certainly be expanded a bit. Plenty of outlets for charging devices (including USB A and C) all around the room - especially plentiful by the bedside.
Shower water pressure. Reception mostly unmanned, though staff apparently was available in the attached pub. Online check in a complete waste of effort and time, as you need to fill out all the information again on a paper form upon arrival.
Location was excellent. Staff were really friendly.
Some extra staff at breakfast time. Only one member of staff to to clear tables , take orders and keep the buffet stocked.
The room was spacious and clean with comfortable beds, excellent en suite, and good temperature. The dining facilities were good, with plenty of choice for someone with dietary requirements, and decent portion sizes.
Check in was problematic, as there was nobody at reception, this was at approx 7.30pm. There was a sign at reception with instructions to go to the bar. Unfortunately the entrance to the bar is next to the toilets, with the distinctive odour of urine, and the one member of bar staff was really busy serving customers with food, and wrapping cutlery for them. He then took us back to reception, and checked us in, but could not take payment which would be the responsibility of the other member of staff on duty (in the restaurant). That member of staff confirmed he'd be through in a second, but after waiting for a few minutes hanging about at reception we just went into the restaurant, where we found the member of staff chatting to a customer at a table. As we also wished to have a meal (and orders stop at 8pm), and there is a notice saying 'please wait to be seated', we waited to be seated. After standing at the sign, and having not been noticed, we decided to sit at a table which would require us to walk past the member of staff, who would then clearly notice us. After sitting down, our food order was taken in a reasonable time, drinks were delivered, and the meal was enjoyed. On finishing the meal, and trying to catch the attention of the member of staff to ask for the bill, it was again difficult to gain his attention as he was dealing with other customers at the bar, delivering meals etc. I ended up going to stand at the bar, payment was made, and I then asked about payment for the room which we had to go back to reception to do. The only negative comment about the room is that the curtains have suffered from lifting condensation from the windowsill and are stained from the bottom up. Otherwise the room was lovely, just not sure it was worth £234 for 2 people for one night.
Very comfortable and well-furnished rooms. Good breakfast. Great location.
