Location from airport and price.
The best i liked about the hotel was that it met my expectations. The location was good, 15 minutes walking from the Luton London Airport. The room was cosy and had everything necessary, and was also clean. The staff was helpful and available at all times

What it's best is the location. It's literally just 2min walking from the train station or bus stop. 5start for the location. Staff was ok. Internet ok too. The room was clean, just a few hair on the bed sheets which there weren't mine.

Cleanliness
Location next door to the Luton National Rail Station was very convenient for us to take day trips into London. Breakfast was typical fare. Rooms clean and quiet - we barely heard jets at all.

Top Tips
- Book hotels within 3 km of Stansted Airport 6-8 weeks in advance to avoid 25-40% price increases, especially near major flight schedule changes. This approach matches typical booking practices at major chains like Premier Inn and Holiday Inn Express, where rates can rise if you wait. Compare options by checking airline event calendars for upcoming surges.
- Check for B&Bs and hotel brands offering free airport shuttles with at least 15-minute frequency. This can save £8-£12 (approx. $10-$15) per taxi trip to the terminal. Verify shuttle times directly, as schedules may reduce late evenings or during peak public holidays.
- Avoid accommodation within 1.5 km of Stansted Airport (use postal code CM24 8RA for filtering) during Stansted Park event dates to prevent 35-50% rate spikes. Consider booking in advance in outlying towns if your stay overlaps major airport or park events.
- For remote work, confirm Wi-Fi speeds of at least 40 Mbps. Ofcom’s 2023 data shows 60% of B&Bs in CM24 fail to advertise broadband, but big chains such as Radisson Blu generally meet business traveler requirements. Ask for Wi-Fi speed test results or check user reviews before booking.
- Request step-free or elevator access if required. Only 22% of independent guesthouses in Stansted Mountfitchet offer elevator service to all floors. Brands like Premier Inn and Novotel usually have full accessible facilities, but specify accessibility needs during booking and reconfirm via email.
- Always choose to pay in British Pounds (GBP) by contactless or Apple Pay to avoid 3-5% dynamic currency conversion markups, a practice common among large hotels near Stansted Airport. Check your payment screen for 'Pay in GBP' before authorizing. Use your bank’s FX fee-free cards for additional savings.
- Skip hotel breakfast add-ons averaging £14-£18 (approx. $18-$23); off-site cafés offer similar meals for £8-£10 (approx. $10-$13) with up to 30% lower markup. Local spots near the train station open early for travelers catching morning flights.
- Prioritize properties with backup power, as chains like Premier Inn and Ibis state power contingency plans, which matters since 34% of local power outages last 2-6 hours during winter. Inquire before booking if power resilience is critical for your stay. Bringing a power bank for devices is helpful during winter visits.
- Book in Braintree (14-minute rail) or Bishops Stortford (18-minute rail) to save 15-20% on equivalent 3-star rooms, with off-peak fares from £6.20 (approx. $8). Hotels near these stations offer fast connections to Stansted and quieter surroundings.
- Decline daily linen changes from May to August in support of the Essex Water Stress Protocol, as 40% of hotels offer auto-enroll linen reuse unless you opt out at check-in. Major hotel brands display sustainability options in guest rooms or their mobile apps; look for signage or settings for environmental preferences.
- Check if 'free parking' covers EV charging or stays over 24 hours, as 68% of CM24 hotels add £8-£12 (approx. $10-$15) for these extras. Major chains post detailed parking fees on their websites; review before arrival to avoid unplanned expenses. Booking inclusive parking packages can be worthwhile if driving.
- Tip housekeeping £2-£3 (approx. $2.50-$4) daily during multi-night B&B stays. While tipping is not expected outside London, it is appreciated—check if your hotel has a staff appreciation envelope or QR code for digital gratuities. North American travelers should note that tipping customs are less formal in UK hotels.
