This place is an absolute gem! We were a group of 7 people and 3 dogs who had some bad luck with a non dog friendly air bnb, and after some stress, we last minute found the Cott Inn on booking.com and saw they had some rooms available and accepted pets. Booked us all in for the night across 4 rooms, furry friends and all. We had the warmest welcome which was such a relief after the Airbnb situation, everyone was absolutely lovely and made us (and the dogs) feel at home. Rooms were perfect and cosy, with ridiculously comfortable beds. Dinner was amazing, so delicious and a great menu offering. The staff even made me a lovely surprise birthday cocktail! We wished we’d never even bothered with the Airbnb and now we know the perfect pub/inn to stay at in the future! Thank you so much Cott team, you’re the absolute best and we’ll definitely be back!

It was perfect for the sad occasion that took me to The Cott Inn as I was there to say goodbye to my dear friend Helen. The wholexteam at the Cott looked after all the guests superbly.

Extremely light sleeper so a room above a bar was not ideal. But that's my problem and choosing of accommodation. It was extremely warm in the room and wasn't able to open the windows they were so old and stiff.

There is nothing to dislike. The staff are friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable, our room was very comfortable, and the food was excellent and well-priced. The owners, Mark and Mel, are very hands-on and run a great team!

The bed was comfortable, the room was very clean and had all that I needed for a night stay. The staff were lovely and the food was impeccable!!

It was quite cold in my room. The heating was on but there was a draft coming from the window near the far corner. In winter months this is the only negative, otherwise it was a perfect stay.

What is there not to like!

Beautiful, very historical building, lovely room, great quality breakfast, friendly staff.

Bathroom was cold.

Great pub food, great staff and comfortable rooms.

Breakfast was fine, with generous servings and a good selection

No sound insulation between rooms or from the bar/restaurant downstairs.

The team were exceptionally attentive. A lovely room, with complimentary port in the room.Lovely and warm. Great food. Lovely fire.

The main asset of The Cott Inn is its staff, Anton and Poppy in particular but everyone whom we met went above an beyond to make our stay a very pleasant one. Breakfast and dinner both days were fab. Met the owner and his wife this morning and their enthusiasm shone through for their business and their employees. Lovely people committed to what they do and it shows.

It's a very old thatched building so quite steep narrow stairways but you have to expect this in old properties. The room was spacious but the bathroom quite cramped but once again it is a very old building.

The Cott Inn is a first rate establishment, full of character & charm. We stayed for one night & enjoyed an amazing evening meal. The staff were friendly & attentive, making our stay such good fun. Breakfast was delicious served in a charming room, nothing was too much trouble! Thank you to everyone.
