Pros +
- Heating was not working. We left in the hope it would be warmed up when we came back but it was still stone cold in there. We tried also turning the electric heater on but gave ourself an electric shock as we didn¿t realise the wires were exposed.
- Fantastic
- Nicely decorated room, lovely cosy bar with restaurant. Staff very friendly. Good base for walking. Pet friendly.
Cons -
- Got an electric shock from exposed wires and condensation. Tried to tell reception but they would jot open the door to us although we could see them inside. We then decided not to stay so posted keys in letterbox and left.
- Our room was very hot even with the radiators turned off so it was quite a hit night's sleep. The beam in the shower is a little awkward for tall people.
- Choice of food a bit limited. Rooms a little small and noisy from upstairs. Breakfast not available during the week.

Lovely 17th century pub in a quaint rural village only a short drive to Deddington for cafe and great deli.... 30 mins drive to Farmers dog which is mainly why we were there. The food at the white Horse was very good and the weekend breakfast was lovely.
Great pub atmosphere with an open fire and good beer.

As it's an inn, I will separate it in two groups: the pub and the room:1. The pub: a typical english pub-style environment of which you unfortunately do not find many anymore. It's clearly a meeting place for locals, yet without the noise you'd find in London pubs. A nice selection of drinks & food, dogs are welcome, in a very cosy, even romantic setting, with the low ceiling, woodworks and open fires. Unlike large cities, people here do connect and chat with eachother, even if they don't know you. Sophie, one of the waitresses, did a fantastic job - not to say the others didn't, but she took care of serving us from start to finish, always with a smile. The food is great, and portions are perfect.2. While the room we stayed in is may semm a little small to some, it was more than enough for us. After all, it's only to sleep and to enjoy a weekend away - not to work. Heating is sufficiently strong and blinds are doing exactly what they should: keep the light and frost out. One disadvantage is that they work so well, you don't believe it's daytime until you open them :-D. The mattress was really great and there was a choice of pillows.
The water pressure could be slightly higher.
The quiet location was great and the cleaners were excellent, didn’t expect a whole room clean the next day.
The guests next door smoked cannabis from the time we arrived to the time we left, all night it stank out our room and made me feel very sick in the morning. We could hear next door in the morning being actually sick, vomiting for over 20 minutes. It was very unpleasant.
Loved the pub, decorated for Christmas it was lovely. Staff were friendly and seemed to be working really hard. The food was great and the pub has a lovely atmosphere. The location was good for exploring other parts of the Cotswolds with a car.
Rooms are small and basic but adequate, maybe a tad overpriced for what you get in terms of comfort. Noise from other apartments, everything from taps running to beds squeaking. Private party in the pub meant loud booming music and drunk conversations outside our apartment until 3.30am - the pub was still post party when we went in to have our breakfast the next morning, litter on the floor, DJ decks still up. It was Christmas so you deal with it mentally so as not to ruin your weekend, however, we would have preferred to know in advance exactly how the party would affect our stay, and then made a choice whether to continue with the booking.
The pub is beautiful with a good restaurant. It looks like the newer rooms are lovely
The room above the pub is dated and room 11 has an illuminated pub sign outside the window and no black out blind so not great for sleeping.
The evening meal was delicious and the staff were attentive and friendly. The room was very comfortable and good value for money.
A flat or rooms above created some noise but that is unavoidable in a converted building.
Room, food and ambience good
Lack of hot water, no net curtains at front so curtains had to be closed in daylight, no blind at bathroom window with properties behind.
This is a lovely pub in it's own right, but the accommodation was really good too. The bed was incredibly comfortable, the room was lovely and cosy with good quality coffee and water, the breakfast was excellent too!
There is a car park but there is limited space, just have a plan b if you can't get in the car park
It was lovely to find a beautiful country pub, with open fires and dog friendly. No slot machines, no darts or pool tables absolutely wonderful. The food was excellent as were the staff.
If I was to have one minor beef it would be the bathroom. The baths need to be removed & a proper shower installed
The White Horse Pub is an authentic cotswolds pub with great unpretentious food and welcoming reception. I requested a pet free room and was upgraded to a larger room with several pet free weeks before me to make sure my allergies were kept in check which was really appreciated. Also my rescue after leaving my phone in the room on the morning of my departure was really fantastic. The staff went out of their way to look after me and as a solo traveller I cannot express my thanks enough.
I would have had breakfast if it had been available at the pub but dinner on both nights of my stay was excellent.
Great service, lovely local Inn with a fab pub in it - amazing location in the Cotswolds for our onward journey
Mattress was a but springy and someone was staying above us so was a bit noisy
Lovely village location, beautiful old building with charming interior.Excellent food and a good wine list.
The selection of beer on tap was a bit short. The staff, whilst very friendly and helpful, were a bit inattentive, and we sat waiting for service several times. The room was fine, except for the lights - the main bedroom light (a garish wall fixture with very white light) and the bedside lights (quaint spots with a warm yellow light) were all controlled off one common set of switches, so not possible to have the main light off and the bedside lights on
Very quiet and comfortable. Quaint and traditional decor inside and staff were great. Very attentive and friendly.
The room I had the radiator was gurgling and banging away most of the night. I'll put that down to a non modern heating system
Food is excellent. I mean really good. The staff are super friendly and accommodating. The location is beautiful. And the whole weekend felt like a really good value for money
The pub has great atmosphere. There was a roaring fire in the bar which we didn't want to move away from. The staff were very friendly and efficient and the food was excellent.
The only drawback was the very small window in the bathroom. When we used the shower, the bathroom was very steamy. The bedroom had no windows so imagine it would be very hot in the summer, unless fans are provided.
The pub was rustic and cosy. Our room was small but perfectly adequate for our stay. Staff were extremely friendly. Food was of a high standard. We would be happy to stay again. A number of attractions and things to visit in a suitable driving distance.
Could hear noise from other rooms next door and above I.e toilet flush footsteps above etc. Nothing else in the village such as alternate dining or a local shop.
