    Pros +

    • Love the concept of this being a community owned and run hotel. Community member that met us to check us in was a great reflection of the lovely people of Wales
    • Sustainable practices, cooperatively owned, good follow up with us on check in, spotlessly clean, decor was nicely done, location was stellar! There are a lot of stairs, so specify a lower floor if you need that.
    • The fact that this hotel is community owned gives it so much character! You can see it in the decoration choices, or the mismatched cutlery in the shared kitchen. The hotel itself is placed in what I would say is the busiest, most interesting street, right by the castle. We talked to a couple of volunteers when checking in and they were extremely helpful at recommending places to eat and visit. No one knows more than the locals! It's a great opportunity to support the local community and not some random hotel chain.

    Cons -

    • Bed a tiny bit too firm for me and pillows a bit too flat, but that is just a preference.
    • Not their fault (especially since they are protected), but the seagulls are quite noisy since early in the morning. The hotel provides ear plugs though :)The beds in the twin room were quite narrow, but that's just single beds for you.
    • Noisy at night. Ear plugs a necessity.

The location and the communal kitchen. All mod cons, friendly community atmosphere. Very relaxed and friendly. Great atmosphere.

Noisy at night. Ear plugs a necessity.

I greatly admire the passion and idea behind the Llety Arral but small, fixable things made it the worst nights sleep I’ve had in a hotel and so I cannot recommend it to anybody. The windows are very old single glaze and on a Saturday night there was extremely loud music and partying right outside until 1am in the morning, I was offered a room change close to midnight to a first floor room but did not have confidence this would fix the issue and also did not want to move so late at night. In addition, right above the bed there is a very bright large green light which is part of the emergency light system. This is the first time I’ve ever seen this in a hotel and it really kept me awake long after the loud music stopped. Two very simple fixes would have made this a pleasant stay in a nice room with an ideal location and friendly and warm staff, but unfortunately since I didn’t sleep due to those two issues I can’t give it a higher rating.

    Nothing was provided

The heating wasn't on and there was a thin summer quilt on the bed, my partner refused to stay for the second night, plus there was no TV

Central, really clean and well presented. Lovely bathroom

Loud at night but the noise did stop at a reasonable hour. Checking unclear on the website

Clean with excellent location. Staff very friendly keeping informed. Allowed earlier check-in without any additional cost.

    Nothing to dislike

Great location, comfortable rooms and perfect base for exploring north wales.

Comfortable accessible room with walk-in shower. Central location but quiet even on a Saturday night. Interesting community run business.

The only window was a sky light, which might be problematic in summer

    Modern and clean

No TV too noisy at the front of the property.

    8HelenPosted on: 1-20-2025

The property was in an ideal location on a street opposite the castle. The building was well decorated and there was a communal kitchen with a small seating area. The bedrooms were clean with smart deco.

I would’ve liked a tv in the room.

Nice and central. Lovely greeting by owners

No Tv, windows thin and disturbed through the night by outside noise

    Clean and quiet

No Tele , could do with a mini fridge or some snacks in the rooms , could also do with a few packets of mini biscuits to eat with the tea and coffee provided.

This was a superb location for exploring the city and meeting family and friends. I had a lovely welcome with everything explained about the Llety Arall project. I felt quite safe walking around alone, even in the dark. There are superb places to visit very close by for breakfasts and evening meals. I had a friendly welcome wherever I went.My bedroom was spotless and bed lovely and comfortable...

I know the property is a 'work in progress' as funds come in, but the bathroom, although clean and adequate felt quite old.. I stayed over a weekend, and if you need an early night, be aware that it is lively on this main street until quite late, especially on the Saturday!

    7SarahPosted on: 9-19-2024

The bed was very comfy and perfect location in terms of being on a busy street with lots going on.

Felt as though we were partying with the rest outside the windows are paper thin. Wouldn’t recommend this room or a front room if you have children. But other than this our stay was lovely.

    6CarolinePosted on: 9-16-2024

    Pleasant

There was no long mirror in our room. I was unable to style my hair the way I had planned, to attend the wedding we were invited to. It's not the end of the world but I would expect a hotel room to have a mirror by an electric point.
