Comfortable bed and the cleanliness of the hotel.

The beds were so comfortable. The breakfast was excellent and very reasonable priced. The staff were wonderful. The room was spacious and comfortable. I the property was very charming.

Dragging bags up stairs was a bit difficult.

Great location and amazing house

Room was small and we hit our head on wooden beams all the time. Bathroom was shared. Spiral staircase was very inconvenient

The building is nice, there is ample parking. The room is huge and the bathroom was several steps down into a large room with a tub. There is a large armoire and a bureau, a canopy bed and several chairs. All the furniture is oversized - but the room is very large. The staff we encountered were very nice and helpful. There are several large rooms downstairs for guests to use for relaxing or reading. There is an honor bar as well.

The bathroom is large with a wooden floor and a rug by the tub that never dried out, so everything smelled rather musty. The tub had a wand shower and a wrap-around curtain, and no matter how you tried to use it, water escaped behind the tub, in front of the tub, etc. The water pressure was terrible - especially in the sink. The hot water also seemed to be limited several times. One day, our towels were not changed and I had to go in search of new ones (we had used the towels to mop up the water after a bath/shower, so I didn't want to reuse them.) No one was at the hotel, except someone in the kitchen cleaning up after a local event and she was helpful. I did not enjoy breakfast - my omelet was slightly burned and the butter tasted off, but my husband said his was fine. The windows did not open very far, but there was a fan provided.

Meifod House surely has seen better days. You can see that from the property and the way it was set up. But it surely is not at its best. There was single person handling front office to kitchen to restaurant. She was incredibly good but that staff limitation surely impacts service levels, ability to ask for something missing etc., The breakfast spread was good but nothing to be excited about. We were happy to stay in a heritage house but unlikely to stay there again.

Room heating was not good and the controls were not functioning properly. Need power sockets in the bedroom for phone charging. The bathroom was inconvenient. Would certainly have loved an overhead shower instead of merely the hand shower which you use sitting in the small tub. I understand that this is an old home done up and looking for the next buyer. I am merely calling out from the needs of a traveller on the road.

Really old style Manor House, interior decor is kept in style with how it would have been which is wonderful to experience. Lovely staff, bedroom was exceptional and only a short distance from local town.

We stayed in one of the shared bathroom suits.It appeared clean.

I was not aware that our rooms were “in back of house” and up a narrow spiral staircase. That was not in the description. We could not have carried our large suitcases up those stairs.The property looks like it is in a state of steady declined care. The grounds were obviously once someone’s pride and joy. But today, the glass needs mowing, the gardens need tending, the ponds fountains need repairs, and the grounds just look tired and forgotten.

The hotel was beautifully maintained and furnished in boutique style with exceptional attention to detail with interesting and generous living areas. The proprietor was friendly, warm and helpful and we were able to relax in the beautiful surroundings undisturbed, which as a couple we appreciated. The property was lovely and warm. The breakfast room was light and airy and breakfast was delicious.

There was nothing that we didn't like.

The decor is very country manor chic; lots of object d'art but stylish in an old-world kind of way. Quirky, very quintessentially British. Very Comfortable. The room was super spacious and the bed was enormous and comfortable. the duvet was incredibly heavy and felt very high quality althou the room was very hot and with the duvet it was s a little difficult to sleep, but that's because we didn't open the windows until late on. Oveerall it was excellent. The breakfast in the morning was superb too. And the lady who greeted us/ served us and checked us out was super friendly and seemed to be running the pace single handedly. It won;t be any good if you don't drive though as it seemed pretty rural.

Bathroom wa s a touch small, nearly gave myself a black eye on the coat hooks and the shower curtain didn't seem to be a shower curtain at all, but an actual curtain!

The room was comfortably furnished with an enormous bed.

Gorgeous house with such amazing furnishings. Staff were absolutely lovely and so helpful. The bedroom was so well furnished and bed was amazing.Would definitely recommend the breakfast it was fab. Will definitely be back!!

Fantastic house in a quiet and convenient location, within easy reach of the Caernarfon by car and by foot. Their was a spacious car park and a nice, covered, outside area. The room we were allocated was extremely well appointed with some really nice, decorative features.....my Wife loved the, very tasteful and classic, decorations and furnishings throughout the house. We would definitely recommend ! The host was very friendly and welcoming, as were the staff we met.

Easy to find

Mixed review for my stay. I planned for a one night stay but sadly got food poisoning (from elsewhere) and had to stay another night. My room on the first night was small and the toilet didn’t flush which was awful considering the food poisoning. Also the phone in the room didn’t work so I had no way of contacting any staff overnight for assistance. There was no guest book so I couldn’t check for numbers for assistance without going downstairs which wasn’t possible being so unwell and hardly able to get out of bed. The room on the second night was much better with a toilet that flushed properly, guest book and working phone and the staff were very helpful cleaning the room quickly so I could switch with minimal effort. They also brought me a jug of water and on my request orange juice and some dry toast. I was quite surprised and how much I had to pay for the second room the following morning. I had paid £85 for the first night. I was charged £120 for the second night. I paid as I was keen to leave and in no fit state to query it as I was still unwell. I suspect I was charged in full for breakfast despite only having some dry toast and tea and I presume paid full price for the room despite having very little choice but to stay another night in a room that I imagine would have been left unoccupied otherwise. I understand this is within the right of the property, but it would have been nice to have been offered some discount in good faith given my circumstances and the problems with the room on the first night. The lady who helped me on the second day was lovely, but I think some consideration as to my circumstances would have gone a long way considering how unwell I was and so far from home.

The bed mattress wa snit comfortable and had bumps in it The radiator was boiling hot and took effort to turn low In the morning we couldn’t use the shower as no water came out of shower head due to faulty bendy pipe that had reached end of its life and needed replacing

Beautiful country house with gorgeous interiors and individually styled bedrooms

The house was fabulous. There were 3 beautiful sitting rooms and a lovely fire burning in one. It made the place so welcoming. The last who owned the place was so friendly and the lady who served breakfast advised us on where to go for the day out.
