Location fabulous. It’s on the square, and being above a pub, obviously noisy. However be aware the pub is open to 2am (we were there on a Friday night). It was cheap and you get what you pay for, room is super small, bathroom even smaller, with a very weak electric shower. Bed was comfy though and great to have tea and coffee.

Small thin towels and weak shower

Simple yet effective, located in the heart of Caernarfon right next to the castle, room was spacious and clean, bed was really comfortable, and facilities downstairs are as you would expect a pub, a word of warning this was a stay during the week, I do suspect if staying here over the weekend it could be rather loud, but at the time we stayed it was perfectly fine, staff were super helpful and friendly, Diolch yn Fawr! ?

Some parts of the bathroom felt dated and worn, but it is not something I found any issue with, as it had limited to no impact on our stay and it was clean no matter what

Friendly staff and brilliant location. For the price, me and my wife were very happy with what the hotel offered. Shame they don't do breakfast but there is a wetherspoons a short walk away and a subway across the road.

Breakfast would have been a bonus.

Room was clean & tidy with a comfortable bed. Nice "brewing up" pack.

No floor bath mat. The shower had very little strength of water flow. Hangers in wardrobe were few in number. On arrival we were informed that the pub was open until 2am the following morning. We were not aware of that at time of booking. Therefore it was very noisy late evening at the time we were trying to get to sleep.

    Central to everywhere

Someone tried to get into our room early hours of the morning, may I suggest a lock be installed on the door at the top of the stairs for resident entry only, it was a Friday night so late closing for the bar, can’t stop people having fun

    1RichardsPosted on: 3-24-2025

Nothing, the room was dirty , there was music blasting until 2 o'clock in the morning and then glass bottles being chucked away after that ... unbelievable, did not sleep all night, doors slamming pillows were rock hard . Had to drive 4 hours home in the morning after no sleep

Everything was awful even the coffee had a disgusting taste on it

    2AndrewPosted on: 2-28-2025

    Bad experience and left early.

Y Castell hotel turns into a nightclub with loud music until 2am. There was a fight that started inside but spilt outside our room window in the main square around 1am on the Saturday that went on for about an hour with shouting up and down the road. This was the 3rd fight we had witnessed in the towns nightlife in the 2 nights we was in Caernarfon. The “power shower” was awful with little to no water pressure and was like standing under a watering can.

    The room was OK

The room was above a noisy pub that remained open until 2am. The receptionist told me this as I checked in but, as I'd already paid there wasn't much I could do.

Great location, great view of the castle and harbour from the room, and good value for money

We stayed on a Saturday night so there was loud music until 2am. Personally we didn't mind but this may bother some people

    2ClairPosted on: 2-15-2025

    The location.

Uncaring staff, nice pub turns into horrific nightclub until 2am. Telly didn't work so we had to be moved to a lower room so the noise was even worse. Cold and drafty room, toilet wouldn't stop running water. Barely slept.Pictures look lovely but are not a true reflection of this place. Seriously reconsider if you would like to actually get some sleep and be comfortable. We wish there had been room at travelodge- that's how bad it was.

    noisy pub with rooms

The room was over a really busy pub. There was a disco on until 2am. The man behind the bar explained this to me but had paid so just had to deal with it. I had to open the shampoo and shower gel with the key.

    9ThomasPosted on: 12-5-2024

Clean and quiet seeing it was above a very popular drink establishment. And lovely views of the harbour.
