Pros +
- It was immediately adjacent to where we were visiting. The hosts were extremely accommodating and nice. The hotel is dressed so much in period accents that it was really part of the attraction.
- The only thing remotely likable about this property was its location.
- The feel of the Inn is cozy, welcoming and in the spirit of the town. Very friendly staff and of course the location was great!
Cons -
- Squeaky floors, only stairs to get up to the rooms.
- From the moment we made the booking, there was no communication from any of the staff, unlike at other hotels. We had no communication that the car park would be unusable as the main street was closed off for two days for an event. From the moment we walked in the doors of the hotel, the staff were not very friendly. After we got the attention of someone and were shown to our room, we noticed the carpets were grubby with large, dark stains both in the hallway leading to the room and then in the room itself. We were then informed that the hotel would be having live music until 11:30pm. Initially we did not think it would be a problem as we have stayed in pubs and were never bothered before as the hotels usually do a good job of making sure the rooms are quiet. That was not the case at The Black Bull. We went out for a couple hours after checking in, but when we returned, the pub was even more crowded and the musician was setting up for the live music. When we got up to our room, that was when we noticed that the noise from below had gotten significantly louder in our room. We could hear entire conversations and even people shrieking below. We knew that once the music started, that there would be no possibility to sleep until after the pub closed at midnight. That was when we decided to leave and drive the 3hrs home. When I went downstairs to find a member of staff to give the room key back to, I once again had a hard time getting anyones attention. Once I did, I asked for the person in charge. I first spoke a man. After I explained the situation about how loud the hotel was and how it was going to be impossible to get sleep, the man just shrugged as he did not care. I asked if there was any possibility of getting a partial refund as we were never informed that the hotel would be so loud of have music playing until 11:30 at night. He told me that this was a pub snd there was nothing he could do.

We didn't stay longer.
The Black Bull is perfectly located for the Bronte Museum. Walk out the door, turn left and you are at the church where the father served. Walk another 100 feet and you are at the house where the sisters grew up. The staff is cheerful and helpful. Food is excellent.
Great location, lovely staff, breakfast plentiful
Amanda and her team made us feel very welcome. They went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and even arranged for flowers and chocolates to be in the room on our arrival, as it was a surprise night away for my wife's birthday. Breakfast was great and the view over the cobbles was fantastic. Perfect room for a short getaway – small but perfectly formed. Free parking right off the main street was also another bonus!
Excellent location in the heart of Howarth. The Black Bull in has lots of history and is a good place to stay for a trip to the area. Tasty breakfast cooked to perfection!
Nothing it’s a lovely place
Beautiful location lovely drink and food , staff very nice too
Having to fill a breakfast form in the day before stating what you want and what time you will want only to go down to breakfast we put 8.30 and being complete darkness someone turned up at 8.45 no apology said we can’t have coffee for about 20 mins till coffee machine warms up got breakfast at 9.15 it was very nice though , luckily we wasent in a rush but think someone should be there in the morning when you come down for breakfast . Was told music finished at 11pm it went on well into midnight really loud techno music, lady in the morning said it was the staff cleaning and closing up , that’s not good really
We had a great two nights , food was ,couldn't fault it , atmosphere in the pub at night was great and very peaceful when we slept
Can't think of anything
Right in the centre of Haworth with good parking behind the hotel. Nice bar, good restaurant, excellent breakfast. Welcoming, friendly staff.
Not a lot. Carpets and paintwork getting tired but manager well aware of the issue.
Wonderful friendly staff with great communication. Felt very welcomed. Great breakfast.
Parking space, Breakfast in the morning, politeness of the staff, smiled when you approached them, helped with all queries, all good from start to finish.
Everything was good,
Location was great, staff was very friendly and went out of their way to make the stay good, breakfast was in the price and the breakfast was exceptional would stay there again
The setting, the room, the breakfast
Not having a mirror in the bedroom area
The location was excellent as was the the breakfast. It was very quiet. The car park was right outside the entrance and there was a private door for guests.
Disappointed to arrive and be told the bar and restaurant was closed on the Tuesday. But I was directed to The Fleece at the bottom of the hill for alternative food and drink.
Free Car park and right in middle of howarth. Lovely room with a brilliant showerFood superbThe manager was a lovely woman and cudnt do enough for us. Fantastic breakfast
Not enough staff on behind barNo handpulled ale on but I think the lines were being replaced
The staff were lovely , helpful and cheerful. The pub was lively and fun and characterful. The breakfast was great, really tasty bacon and sausages and it was included in price. The shower was great with good water pressure.
The room was tired and seriously in need of updating. The mattress is saggy with springs at the surface.Draughty old window that's rotting at the corners and terrible condensation - you can't leave it open because it's reachable if someone wanted to climb in - would be good to have a cable so it can be left open an inch. The carpet is stained and grubby. No mirror in bedroom, only in the bathroom so you can't dry/do hair in front of mirror as no sockets near bathroom. The lighting is old and poor with a lot of dust on ceiling shadeWe were really disappointed unfortunately.Breakfast was included but I'd rather have a lovely room and pay extra for breakfast.
Great location and helpful, friendly staff
Couldn’t get the tv to work in our room
Location perfect breakfast ok apart from bacon overcooked view from Room perfect you can see the main Street and watch life going by
Shame the pub is not open in the evening
Lovely room and great location.
Staff very slow to deal with checking in. We were left waiting 30mins before even being asked whether we were checking in or wanted a drink. Stated we were checking in, staff struggled to check us in needed to make a call. No offer of a drink. We then were told to come back in 30mins. So we went and had lunch. We were then told the pub was closing at 4pm and there was no food for the evening. Disappointing as I thought we could eat there We then struggled find somewhere to eat that evening. Should have been told this information when we booked the room.
