Cons -
- Place was a bit tired, decor scruffy.
- Bathroom really cramped, soft mattress and pillows.
- It was noisy. The room is above the bar area so it's not quiet until 11 then the church bell rings every hour so expect that when you stay.

Bedroom 1 could hear the noise from bar/restaurant downstairs.Bathroom too hot and no way to turn radiator down.Heating noisy.
Lovely breakfast. Lovely staff. Rooms nice and good tea/coffee selection
Some areas looking tired in bedroom/bathroom. Very close rooms but to be expected and not a lot of noise heard.

Friendly staff, nice bar area, and great breakfast.
No dedicated car parking for guests so had to drive around for 15mins looking for street parking in local area. All rooms have to be accessed via very step, narrow staircase.

High Price for Breakfast
Very welcoming. Excellent staff and ideal location. Breakfasts were delicious.
Poor WiFi and shower pressure very poor.
Breakfast was excellent on both mornings.
We weren’t aware the bar area wouldn’t be available for coffee etc after we checked out at 1030. This meant we could have been in limbo before our pickup arrived at 1140. However, it was resolved as there was a free table for four near to the entrance where we were allowed to sit until being met.
Staff friendly
Room small very hot noisy access poor.Having to pre ordered breakfast & a time
Superb breakfast and location Great staff
Wifi
The welcome was good, quirky rooms and one of the best breakfasts I've had
There wasn't dedicated parking. The billing was a bit of a faff and took quite a bit of communication to resolve
The staff are fairly pleasant, although nobody from the hotel side was around in the morning to speak to about the issues we’d had. The meals we had in the restaurant were quite good too, although the burgers were very salty.
The bed felt like a small double, and the bathroom was not clean - mould in the shower grout, paint peeling on the walls, and a distinct unpleasant smell. The room was also too hot for us, even after turning the radiators off and opening the windows. Some other guests who either didn’t listen to the check-in instructions, or hadn’t been given the check-in instructions about the alarm system, attempted to use the front door at 1AM and set off the intruder alarm. This lasting for long enough that we both got up and dressed, thinking it was the fire alarm. It was incredibly loud and stress-inducing, and after that we had a fitful night’s sleep, only to be woken again in the early morning by the ludicrously loud plumbing system in the building - a sort of rhythmic thudding that vibrates through the room. This was not a boutique stay - not even a good stay - and we will not be returning.
Perfect stay. Excellent service, staff, food/drink and location
The staff were pleasant and the village itself was lovely. The location on the green was good. Our main courses in the restaurant were greatBreakfast plentiful if you like a cooked one.Liked the tunnocks.
Our room was covered in a layer of dust that made us sneeze, there was also a dirty toilet brush.Breakfast needed to have more variation, there was no fresh fruit, yoghurt options etc.
Breakfast was pleasant and the staff were very accommodating and friendly. Room was dusty and cramped but the bed was very comfortable.
I expected more from the bedroom after paying £130. Carpets weren’t clean throughout and the bathroom was extremely cramped. No food available on the evening and we were directed to a neighbouring pub. A little disappointed
Staff were friendly and helpful
Bathroom very cramped toilet tight up against wall
Friendly staff
Small cramped room, small double bed, more like queen size. Slightly tatty decor (paint pealing in bathroom) Breakfast was cold.
