- A lovely stay here, great room and facilities. We had a drink in the bar and a lovely chat with Clare who worked there.
- the shower and the breakfast
- Everything is fantastic. The welcome, the room and the amazing breakfast. Have been before, will go again!
Cons -
- The fact the bar was not even open when i got there at 1830
- The fridge on the night makes a loud clicking noise and whirring sound when trying to maintain temp. It actually wakes you up. Jets weren’t all working on hot tub but it didn’t bother us as it’s probably an easy fix for the next people as we made the staff aware of it on leaving
- Disappointed we stayed when the restaurant wasn’t open. Hopefully we’ll get to try it next time

Room was lovely. Staff were great. Food was lovely and added lots of little touches for a birthday.

Fromw the moment I booked, Esther went above and beyond in ways I genuinely did not expect. I asked whether it might be possible to arrange balloons as a surprise in the room, and from that moment on everything was left in the safest, most thoughtful hands with no extra charge. What we walked into was far more than balloons: rose petals, additional birthday lighting, and beautiful touches that completely exceeded my expectations. We stayed in the large jacuzzi room, and honestly, for the price, it was absolutely outstanding, easily above anything else in that price range. Complimentary Prosecco, thoughtful extras throughout the room, and an atmosphere that was romantic, relaxing, and luxurious without feeling pretentious. We were welcomed by Clarke at reception, who made us feel like VIP guests from the very beginning. He was warm, attentive, and even offered to help us with a speaker for music, nothing felt like too much trouble. Clarke is truly an asset to the team, and his efforts did not go unnoticed. What a legend. The staff in the dining area were also exceptional, and the food was a 10/10 without question. Breakfast was included and worked beautifully, you simply text your order the night before, choose your preferred time, and it’s delivered fresh to your room. Having breakfast at 10am and checking out at 11am was such a treat, especially when so many places rush you out early. It allowed us to actually relax and enjoy the experience. I genuinely felt emotional during this stay. My partner works incredibly hard and deserved an extra-special birthday getaway, and what we received was far beyond what I expected for what I paid. Everything felt thoughtful, calm, and perfectly put together. We also went into Bishop in the evening for a few drinks, it’s not far at all and everyone we met was so friendly, which just added to the whole experience.
Exceptional property, rooms were very comfortable and clean. Breakfast was fantastic too
Disappointed we stayed when the restaurant wasn’t open. Hopefully we’ll get to try it next time
Lovely location and beautiful room
Bath absolutely tiny and room very small
The room was better than we expected and the staff so nice and helpful. We really enjoyed our food in the restaurant and the breakfast to the room was a nice touch. Thank you to the owner for making us feel so welcome and looked after.
The bed was a little soft for my back, but I tend to have that issue whenever I am not in my own very firm bed.
The staff were brilliant, we enjoyed an evening meal and we're blown away by the food. Then even more so at breakfast. Super comfy bed and fantastic water pressure.
The TV could do with being connected to the internet so that we'd have had access to BBC iPlayer ect and the buttons on the remote don't all work. Although these are just minor issues and wouldn't stop us returning
Gorgeous room, really spacious! They had put rose petals and balloons on the bed! The hot tub was lovely, they had Prosecco chilling in the fridge! The food was great! The breakfast delivered to the room was fab! We really enjoyed our stay!
Clean, friendly, great layout and delicious breakfast.
The staff at this hotel area genuinely friendly and eager to make their guests feel comfortable and welcome. And the dog-friendly aspect is of huge importance to us. We've stayed twice and will certainly be back.
The room was lovely and clean .The breakfast was lovely
Unfortunately we stayed on a Sunday and the last order for food was 5pm . So we travelled 6.5 miles to recommend restaurant from the staff .
The breakfast was very good , staff very pleasent,
Bed was a little to hard, dog barking in next bedroom never had this before . Stayed here a few times first time hardly slept.
The staff were amazing . Very helpful and friendly . Thomas Wright House is a wee gem of a place.

Cleanliness, staff, access ans parking
Room size and temperature. Unfortunately, the twin beds and single becouch room.up the entire room. The room was extremely hot even with window open and radiator off. Otherwise, everything else was fab.
Clean and very friendly staff. Breakfast was ok but not as hot as I would have liked.
The bed was very uncomfortable. Dips on both sides with a higher part in the middle, definitely needs changing.
Cosy, accessible, well presented
Only bug bare, felt uncontrollably warm when in the room
