Solway Lodge Hotel

Friendly staff, parking. The lodge part we stayed in was excellent. Lovely place to base yourself for Gretna Green and the surrounding area.

All was excellent,nothing to dislike.

Nice but not worth the...

Bathroom radiator was hotter than hell and burnt my child. This was because the bathroom was so small as soon as you stand up your touching it. She’s 5 and burnt her hands. I’m pretty sure it’s hotter than a legal level in hotel rooms. View looked into someone’s driveway and the bins. Breakfast was nice though.

The property itself was fantastic as was the food & staff. We certainly will be returning.

There was a 40th birthday party on in the function suit but they spent their time in the lounge which made it very noisy and we couldn’t have a conversation. Our friends and us had to go to bed after dinner as we couldn’t have a conversation. This is not a reflection on the hotel itself, just the party.

The bed wasn’t that good but the room was clean and warm

Clean, comfortable accommodation where our dog is welcome.

Low shower pressure.

Liked everything about the hotel .Have stayed there a number of times and never been disappointed. The food is excellent. The upgrade of bedrooms outside is great.

The only thing I could complain about is no non slip mat in the shower and no welcome info in the room.

Nice location good food

Lacking a chair in the room ,tap loose in shower room also even though the radiator was hot the toilet was freezing and a little hit and miss when ordering food but it was New Year’s Eve and they were very busy at breakfast in the morning we ordered toast and it arrived after we’d finished the meal

Lovely welcoming staff, room was fabulous and bar and dining was brilliant too! We had the bridal suite as got married in gretna and everything was just amazing.

The friendly atmosphere, very dog friendly too.Staff are welcoming, nothing too much to do for you.Food is good, good size portions. Breakfast the fog gets a sausage too.Reasonable priced on food.

Modern room. Great food. Nice people. Good christmassy atmosphere in hotel

In annex across carpark rather than in hotel. Not great look from outside but nice and modern inside if a bit "compact". We were comfortable for an overnight and loved food but disappointed not to be in hotel like previous stay. Ironing being done in bar area was a bit quirky....

Easy parking. Quick checking food was first class.Have stayed here before

Loverly place stayed a few times now, friendly staff great location

This time food not good burgers we ordered were still pink, ended up with food poisoning (not good when having to travel home)

The room was clean but quite small

The breakfast was great and choice for dinner was excellent the position for bus into Carlisle was terrific we drive down every year and leave the car until going back home

Other than no Internet in room can't fault anything and would not stop us coming back

Booking .com messed up booking as we asked for a family room and ended up with a double room .we wer charged for a family room .
