Pros +
- Breakfast was excellent. Room was clean. King size bed. Sea view.
- Staff , atmosphere and food were excellent.I had a meal from the Christmas menu and it was outstanding.
- The staff were all lovely, helpful and happy. It was super dog friendly. The food was lovely with large portions. The bed was really comfortable, the bathroom was roomy with lovely soft towels, and the room (4) was really spacious. We had a sea view and the location was perfect for exploring the area.
Cons -
- Room was cold. Bad Draught coming from the window.
- It's not a dislike more of a point of view. The decor throughout the hotel could do with an upgrade
- We understand that the hotel was taken over a week ago and you can tell that there are changes happening. The building looks tired, as if it has had a long hard summer season. The window in the bedroom rattled on the first night which to be fair was quite stormy. The fire alarm also went off on the first night which didn't make a great impression on us. We found the decor odd in the bar area. The hotel is in a stunning location and yet there are random celebs pics around, some of which don't even fit in the frame. Only a couple of small photos embracing the stunning scenery that surrounds the hotel.

The location was excellent. We had a lovely room overlooking the ocean from two windows.
Great location, and amazing breakfast. Staff friendly and helpful.
Nowt.
Quirky older hotel, with nice rooms.
No wifi and the smallest TV in the world.
Friendly staff in prime location. Booked dinner b/b deal, which was fantastic value. Lovely breakfast with good quality cold/ hot selection. Dinner was a 2 course set menu served in the conservatory overlooking the sea. The food was delicious and the setting perfect.
There are no negatives, for what we paid we had excellent value for money
Stayed for one night for dinner bed and breakfast. Excellent value. Comfortable room, great home cooked dinner and excellent cooked breakfast. Staff were friendly and efficient. Lovely outlook and great walks from the door.
Nice friendly place, staff , food all good
Someone's alarm at 06.00 going on and on ?
The atmosphere and location were excellent. Cosy bar area and very friendly and polite staff.Food was very well presented, tasty and good quality.
Our bed mattress had seen better days and could do with replacing.
Great Hotel in the beautiful village of Portpatrick & couldn’t be in a better location
Cooked breakfast wasn’t consistent & I couldn’t eat my scrambled eggs as totally overcooked & like rubber
Located centrally in Portpatrick
We stayed here on Easter Monday. Seasonally, business was slow for this great wee gem of a hotel and the bar closed around 9pm
Good value, dog-friendly hotel with an excellent restaurant. Took a room with a sea view which was great to watch the world go by as the sun was shining.
Beware of the low sloping ceilings in the room on the top floor. At over 6 foot tall, meant having to be careful moving around, but still worth it.
Excellent staff and great food
Too many dogs allowed in bar and on seats
This was our third stay at the Harbour House before catching a ferry from Cairnryan. The bed, breakfast and evening meal package represents exceptional value, and we had the bonus (again) of being upgraded to an apartment. Friendly staff and good food - looking forward to our next stay!
The room was delightful with beautiful views of the harbour. The shower was really good. Breakfast was exceptional value for money, everything was extremely fresh and hot and the service was prompt and friendly without being overly fussy. We had a full Scottish breakfast every day as well as cereal, toast, juice, yogurts and pastries.
The entertainment on the Saturday night was clearly audible in our family room. It didn't worry us but if you had young children you might find it a problem.
Staff excellent food excellent but not enough choice room good great sea view
No problems
Staff were so friendly and helpful - nice cosy bar and harbour front terrace. Would recommend for solo travellers or a trip with your canine bestie. Enjoy
View and shower room
Tired decor of main room
