Cons -
- Our room faced fairly busy road & there was a party at pub below. It was warm in room & we wanted to open the windows. Too loud to sleep. Room cooled off quick enough with the provided fan. Pub noise dropped by 12am. Rooms available on courtyard side.

- Strange smell of "Raid" (against insect) inside of the corridor and room. Not sure what it was

Strange smell of "Raid" (against insect) inside of the corridor and room. Not sure what it was
I liked the room decor. The tea and coffee good selection.
Didn't leave us enough towels only one set.
Staff, location ,breakfast ,comfort ,nice place for a drink
Check in was good, very helpful receptionist. The breakfast options were plentiful and I appreciate the cooked breakfast, made to order, options. Service was friendly, attentive and swift. All staff I encountered were friendly. The hotel is really old! I like the period features and the quirkiness of it. Though lugging up a really heavy suitcase op a flight a stairs is a challenge on its own.
When arriving late for breakfast certain option were not available (pastries, croissants) also no cheese or cold meats - I understand there isn't a cooler/fridge, but I did miss it. The room (#2) was right above the HVAC extractor, and I it woke me up several times during my stay, every time it switched off I really noticed the quietness. Usually I went to bed quite tired, but it did affect my sleep quite a bit. Also the floor in room 2 is a little slanted, well it is an old building. but it took me by surprise when I noticed it. I was explained that it isn't supposed to run at night.
Spacious room. Clean and comfortable
Quite a lot of noise from yhe bar downstairs at night
Large room with comfy bed. Good breaky and a pub.
Everything was really good.
Very comfortable room. Breakfast was excellent. Great staff
Amazing building you really feel the history. Dinner menu is all delicious!
They don't have a continental option for breakfast. Which is fine if you are hurry as you can eat as much as you like. But if you only want a small breakfast then it's a very expensive breakfast better off getting a light breakfast for less elsewhere.
Staff were very friendly, relaxed and helpful. Food, including breakfast was good and not over priced.
The room was lovely, the hotel itself is lovely very easy to find and great parking checking in was very easy and very pleasant.
The pub is nice, good beer, the staff all seemed like they were brand new to the job. My wife and I had two breakfasts in there and they managed to get one of the orders completely wrong, we had one dinner in there, and we were served our main course before our starters. Which were taken back, and obviously just left under heat lamps while we got and ate our starters. Also we had a meal deal two mains and two drinks for a set price .Although we had two rounds of drinks and were charged for both rounds, so overall not the best service ever
Good value for what we paid especially with breakfast included.Large, comfortable room.Good on site parking. Friendly staff in hotel and restaurant. Good location for town centre- walking distance for plenty of bars and restaurants.Great breakfast included- a good choice.Ate in the restaurant as a varied menu with good prices.
Noisy outside fans/extractor cut in throughout the night. Didn't disturb my husband but kept waking me up.Nothing else.
Good value and staff were exceptional. Rooms clean though with wear and tear but perfectly acceptable.

The pumped air freshener, even middle of the night from the corridor you were eating it, far too heavy.Room very hot, turned everything we could off and opened window. Very uncomfortable nightBreakfast, we arrived before 9am and nothing was being replaced, butter, coffee..had to ask to refill, white bread. Luckily the hot breakfast was good.
