Everything from check-in to check-out was exceptional! Staff were amazing as usual, helpful, friendly and professional. Can't wait to stay here again! Great choice of menu options too!

Totally fantastic - I WILL be back! The Golden Lion exceeded my expectations - my room was gorgeous and the staff was terrific! Also, the location was 100% central, AND the pub/restaurant was like a meeting hub for the town - so there was plenty of action but not a lot of noise, and NO NOISE in my room - it was totally quiet!

It was ALL terrific!

We were looking for a typical Yorkshire hospitality as a starting point for hiking the peaks and typical Yorkshire breakfast, dinner, and ales. We got everything we were looking for.

We hoped to escape the crowds by not going to the Lake District, but this is not possible anymore in the weekends.

Bedrooms were lovely. Lots of refreshments and fresh milk. Lovely toiletries from the The White Company. Powerful shower and comfy pillows and duvet. Nice little touches with the fudge and the sleep packs.

Room was hot as windows didn't open.Didn't realise there was a fan as thought it was a heater.hotwk.disnt seem keen on younger family members - some board games or things to do around Settle would have been a lovely extra

Liked the room although a bit small with us having two dogs ?, the hotel was very nice , the staff were very friendly and accommodating.

A bit pricey for a room that is during the week and also on the main Rd . They did provide ear plugs but a price reduction would be more appreciated.

Location is good, right on the main street.The general ambience downstairs was great, lively but not too busy.The breakfasts were brilliant.Shower was great, bed was comfortable.Provision of bottled water in rooms was appreciated.

My room was nice but on the small side as was the en-suite.The hotel was hard to contact by phone.The hotel could have suggested where to park as there was a convenient car park off Chapel Street round the corner.Room was slightly pricey but it was good quality.

Staff were not very professional, although friendly.

Our Character Double was super comfy and clean. We asked for a quiet room and we got it. The staff were all lovely and friendly and efficient. I do wish that I had got the name of the lady with long streaked hair who seemed to do everything. She never stopped, and was the star of the show. The food was gorgeous, congratulations to the chefs who worked on Sunday 18th May.

Best inn room I’ve stayed in. Provided ear plugs, local fudge and the room size, level of comfort and quality of the entire room was top draw.

The staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was cosy and had everything for a 1 night stay. Very dog friendly. In the town centre great location to get to amenities and walks in the area. Food was lovely.

A little too noisy. Our room was on the main road and with it being a Saturday night there were a lot of people out late and quiet loud walking up and down. I know this is not the pubs fault but did keep us awake after a day out walking.

The hotel is very central and is well located for access to the Dales. The room was lovely and comfortable, breakfast was excellent, and the staff were very helpful. A massive positive for us is that the hotel is dog-friendly, with dogs being welcomed in the rooms and throughout the hotel. Overall, I thought the price we paid was very reasonable.

The only problem we encountered was that we visited on a Sunday of a Bank Holiday weekend, so we were unable to get an evening meal as the restaurant was fully booked. My fault, I guess, as I should have foreseen this may be a problem, and booked a table when I booked the room.

I recently stayed at The Golden Lion Pub in Settle and had a thoroughly enjoyable experience! The pub has a warm, welcoming atmosphere with a lovely blend of traditional charm and comfort. The staff were friendly and attentive, making us feel right at home from the moment we arrived.The room was cosy, clean, and well-equipped—perfect for a relaxing stay in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales.We also had the chance to enjoy a meal at the pub, and the food did not disappoint. The fish and chips were classic and delicious—crispy batter, flaky fish, and chunky chips cooked just right. We also tried the soup and bread, which was hearty, full of flavour, and perfect for a comforting start to the meal.Overall, The Golden Lion is a fantastic place to stay, eat, and unwind. Whether you're exploring Settle or just passing through, it’s well worth a visit!
