    Pros +

    • The deluxe rooms are in a separate building next to the inn. They are spacious and have the benefit of a small area of outside space and patio doors. Pure Spa is on site and there is a pool. The breakfast was lovely.
    • Very friendly staff , the beds were super comfy! The spa was lovely, we had some fabulous food during our stay, the breakfast was stunning! We were a party of 6 and we all enjoyed our stay & wouldn’t hesitate to book again!
    • The best thing about the property was the leisure center (pool & hot tub), which was open from 7 am to 9 pm, was well-maintained and fortunately not very busy when we used it.

    Cons -

    • The Inn is tailored more for a restaurant than a bar. The bar area is tight and small.
    • If I had to be picky, the carpets could do with a clean, the spa is lovely & clean & cosy but the loungers are a little old & tired & the wood in the sauna is crumbling on the top set of seating, so just a small amount of tlc would benefit an absolutely fabulous gem in the dales.
    • The listing for this property makes it seem like it is a quaint and lovely Dales country pub when in reality, it is a busy pub in a caravan park. Our tiny room (Wild Boar) had no temperature control and worst of all, no window that opened— just a sealed skylight with rust stains. There was no fan or ventilation in the bathroom. As a result, the room was hot and damp (and smelled of damp, which they tried to cover up with an extremely pungent air freshener). Our room was over the main room of the pub, so it was also loud. The breakfast was very underwhelming— inedible bacon and hash browns so deeply fried that they were like bricks. We got this room last minute with a deep discount, and the pool access was the only thing that made it tolerable. I can’t believe that they wanted almost £200 for this room full price— you could get much better for less at an actual country pub nearby.

Best service ever...Danny was amazing, as was some of his staff. Food excellent well prepared.

Restaurant front end, need to be trained...no need for detail...slow, inattentive.

We stayed in one of the woodland pods. This was larger than other pods we have stayed in, was very clean and was generally well equipped. The pods are located together but placed in a way that allows privacy. The on-site facilities are first class - the gym, swimming pool and pub and the park is in a good location.

Only a small point, but the number of cups and glasses could be increased as there was only one per person which meant constant washing up.

Little bit of luxury on night 1 of our Way of the Roses cycle ride lovely to be able to use the pool and steam room. Enjoyed evening meal at the hotel and great breakfast.

Very friendly staff, who were welcoming and helpful. Breakfast and meals were good.

Pictures when booking did not show that the Gamekeepers inn was basically the clubhouse to several hundred static homes which surround it on every side. The beds were very uncomfortable and we did not sleep well.

Everything. Clean, comfortable bed & sofa. Well equipped kitchen.

    Nothing to report.

Good facilities and location. The pub was very welcoming on site.

    Nothing worthy of note.

Great all round - clean, great breakfast (and Sunday lunch!), nice friendly staff. Nice pool and gym. Very quiet. 40ish min walk to Grassington or just a short drive. Lovely spot

10am check out just a tad early if using gym etc in the morning

Relaxing stay with great facilities. Good location and friendly welcome. We loved having easy and unlimited access to the leisure centre, and staying in the cosy pod.

    8SamanthaPosted on: 4-25-2025

We stayed in the woodland pod and it was well equipped and had everything you need for a short stay. The pod was clean.

The shower was hard work and was not really fit for purpose. The water pressure was low and the getting the right temperature was difficult.

The location and setting is wonderful. Food was amazing. Staff are super friendly and warm.

Room was small but immaculate and cosy, so we didn't mind so much.

We stayed in a pod, spotlessly clean, very well equipped. Bed was so comfortable. The staff were so professional and helpful. We had breakfast in the Inn and my vegan daughter was totally included which is very rare. It was also delicious! We didn't use the gym but the pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room were a real bonus after a long day cycling the canal paths. We thought it was excellent value for money and loved our stay. The location was ideal for visits to Skipton, Gargrave and Grassmere. Thankyou to all at the Gamekeepers Inn. Just a tip if anyone is thinking of staying in a pod, bedding, washing up liquid and cloths etc are all included. Also towels, loo rolls, tea, coffee, shampoo, soap, hairdryer, iron and ironing board. In fact, everything you could need for a fab stay. Highly recommended.

There was nothing we didn't like!

The location is lovely. The park is very well maintained. We stayed in a woodland pod. It was clean and had everything we needed. The WiFi is really good. The TV reception was also really good. We didn't use the spa facilities as we were very lucky with the weather.

The only issue was the shower. It was a trickle and took a little while to get the temperature right, it was either scolding hot or cold. Don't understand how the pressure from the bathroom and kitchen tap was really good but the shower was so poor. I didn't dare wash my hair ?

Great breakfast. Confortable stay. Great family room. Good staff.

    7ThomasPosted on: 4-13-2025

Food in the pub was nice and so was breakfast. Leisure facilities were also nice, good steam, sauna and pool. The staff were friendly but never enquired if everything was ok, presumably in fear of the answer.

Not sure if we just had a bad room, however not once were we asked if everything was ok. The pictures in the website looked nothing like the room we had. We ended up in the accessible room. The incredibly high toilet randomly flushed and kept running water, after every use some fiddling of the flusher was required. The shower went so hot without warning it nearly scalded me and my wife on separate occasions. However most annoying was the bed, it was knackered and squeaked at the slightest of movements, which kept us both awake most of the night.
