The Horse & Jockey

Location was good and the room was nice. The bar area was comfortable and staff were friendly and helpful in the bar. Breakfast was not great - the eggs were beautifully cooked but the presentation was awful. Eating bacon and egg on toast out of a bowl was unusual and not easy.

The room was very clean large and cosy. It had a large walk in shower and a large double bed which was very comfortableThe choices for breakfast was very good with cereals fruit and different cooked breakfast which were well presented and very tasty.

The hotel is comfy. Wifi works well, and the rooms are well-isolated

The first thing that i think is UNACCEPTABLE is the fact that i requested for an invoice 3 times, and I still haven't received one. It feels just "dodgy". Then, i had to pay for coffee at breakfast (breakfast was included in my reservation) because... i don't know.So, all in all, the hotel is not "bad", but i doubt I will stay there again.

Plenty of space. Comfortable bed. Nice furniture.

Stayed before always normally happy with everything

Had an air conditioning unit that was faulty and loud. Kept us both awake most of the night. Told the staff next day and even played time stamped recording. Had no further response. Disappointed.

Nice and bright pub. Mix grill was amazing, just what I needed after a long hike. Big rooms, beds, TV, bathroom with both bath and shower. Kettle. Breakfast was really nice to. Great location for hiking locations such as Crich, Lea bridge, Cromford canal, Cromford and Matlock bath, and the start of the Peak district.

Must remember to book 1st floor I was on second this time quiet a climb for an oldie. No lift.

The food was disappointing for a pub that sells itself on food. At breakfast the tea was bag not pot and the coffee was instant which seemed surprising.

What a beautiful place. I was amazed to find a sofa for relaxing in my room. The staff were all really friendly and my emails were answered quickly and efficiently. As a bonus (which didn't have a benefit to me) they let the village cars park there when dropping off their kids at the local school, which is a lovely touch.

Nothing to see here folks, keep moving.

As soon as we arrived it looked good even outside then we checked in at the bar, got to our Deluxe room it was all spotless modern fab lay out comfy bed large room, "perfectWe then went for a drink or two in the small snug again friendly staff spotless again sadly didn't go back to room stayed watched football in bar booked evening meal in restaurant down stairs again all spotless food was exellent we had a great evening with locals making us welcome sad part is we only booked for 1 night so would highly recommend the horse and jockey for an overnight stay nearly forgot breakfast was to the same standard just wish it wasn't 2hrs away but could see us coming back for another stay well done to all staff for making it a great stay!!

Good room renovations. The number for room service as per the book is not correct. There was no one in reception to take any order. I had to go down to the bar to order and they confirmed there is never anyone there to pick up.

The mattress s need changing .. the springs are all gone such a shame bedroom was nice otherwise . It really let the room down.The breakfast delivery was poor. The waitress had a poor attitude but the orders took forever because the kitchen couldn’t cope with the two large parties and everyone down at the same time. Poor planning as the numbers would have been known in advance.

Great value for money. Food and service was excellent . Breakfast was gorgeous. Didn’t wait long for food in the evening or at breakfast. Staff were very polite and room very clean. Bed very comfortable. Would definitely recommend.

Checking in at the bar with drunken people wasn’t too pleasant

Rooms were furnished to a high standard. Comfortable and spacious with all you would need for a short stay.Breakfast and evening menu were excellent as were the staff, all very accommodating.
