    Pros +

    • It wasn't expensive
    • We were happy you had parking. The flowers in the parking lot were nice. The room was clean and bed was comfortable.
    • Basic rooms but clean. Host was very friendly and gave good advice about places to eat near by. Able to get rooms for all the family. Central location and great Thai restuarant downstairs for evening meal. Kettle and mugs in room to make tea or coffee.

    Cons -

    • The hotel name wasn't visible & neither was it signposted from Montrose High Street.
    • Window in our room had hinge problems. Bird poop on windows. Crazy seagulls squawking at all hours. The stone walkway and the front door area of hotel could use some scrubbing and maybe a few flowers or color to make the entrance feel more welcoming.
    • Room was a bit cold in the evening at first but it was Winter and it did warm up eventually with radiators on full.

Nice friendly staff with large rooms and in a very clean condition. There is private parking to the rear of the hotel which was useful. The associated Thai restaurant was very good and worth a visit. The location is perfect in the centre of town and close to all amenities.

    All good.

Central location. Clean and comfortable rooms. Booked 5 rooms for extended family. All rooms were good . Staff were very friendly and met our special requests with a smile. Restaurant below served delicious Thai food for all of us at one big table in the evening.

No complaints, good place to stay. Would go back again

no disabled access for my parents who also booked with you but had to cancel due to 93 stairs to 3rd floor where they put us.all windows old and full off condensation.shower head not fitting so unable to use shower facilities.room door so tight had to push hard to get in room 8.all linen and beds where spotless though.

Clean room/bathroom and comfortable bed. Pleasant staff on reception.

I was sorry the thai restaurant wasn't open when I stayed!

Price was good and location was ideal.

Bed wasn't the most comfortable. Toilet and shower were cramped. Being honest through fir the price I would consider staying again.

I didn't realise reception was on 1st floor been disabled causes few issues then anther flight of stairs to your room no lift at all staff were amazing and helpful hotel is dated but very comfortable Thai restaurant on 1st floor food beautiful .. no breakfast or near to one either had to drive to find one

Too many stairs and no lifts fine if able bodied but not for me

No breakfast, there is a Greggs nearby so no worries. Large room with a nice street view. Good shower.

Street name still goes under the Charlton rooms small sign pointing towards Juniper rooms, plus unable to open room window.

A very large spacious room. Comfortable bed with a swing out TV.

    All good.

    9LylePosted on: 8-23-2024

Really comfortable, newly decorated room. Really friendly host and staff. Also quite handy having an excellent Thai restaurant just downstairs. The hotel outside is in the process of renovation but don't let that put you off. Inside is perfect and great value for money. Just wish I'd come across it sooner!

The room was large and very comfortable. Staff so lovely and helpful. Attached restaurant was excellent ⁰

Beautiful – and very large – room (I was offered an upgrade on arrival, for an extra £10 a night). Nicely decorated, comfy bed and chairs, nice furniture, deep carpet, and all very clean.

It didn't bother me, but it would be no good for anyone unable to manage a couple of flights of winding stairs. And it was room only: no breakfast available (again, I had my own provisions anyway). (It is above a Thai restaurant, but that was shut the days I was there).

    7MariaPosted on: 8-1-2024

    Friendly staff ,very helpful

Noise from the street.Silicone in the bathroom has mould. No toiletries in the shower,I had to use the hand soap in order to have a shower.

    7StephenPosted on: 7-14-2024

The room that my friend and I stayed in was perfect

The room my daughter and her friend stayed in was very hot as they could not open the window as it was broken. They couldn't sleep as it was so hot
