Pros +
- The staff was lovely, especially the man who checked us in he was so kind and friendly Also loved the fact that there was a fan in the room!
- Fantastic breakfast, some hotels brag about their mediocre food but this was superb - the staff were so kind and polite. Our room was outstanding with a four-poster and lovely layout. The location was also fantastic.
- It is clean and a good location. Staff were helpful and friendly
Cons -
- There wasn't many disabled parking spots so when the car park filled up my disabled partner and I had to walk quite far to get to the lobby Disliked that the food hygiene rating was only a 4 I was shocked by how clean everything looked for you to only have a 4!
- The coffee pot at breakfast didn’t pour very well and flooded the table… all cleared and cleaned very swiftly and a new, working pot arrived without fuss. The bath panel in the room (24) was cracked/ broken but I’m convinced it’ll be replaced before I return again. The car park was a little difficult to find, not having been to Litchfield before but we made it and all was well eventually. I think it would be more appropriate to add the £10 parking fee to the overall stay rather than al, the embarrassment of asking for it at reception - I know it’s mentioned when booking but it does smack of a poverty mentality which for this beautiful hotel is very unnecessary
- We were firstly put in a damp room that smelled awful and of stale smoke couldn't have been used in years but we did get moved once i asked but these things should be checked or improved#42. However, the room we were then put in #75 although it didn't smell was very noisy as it is next to a fire door so heard it slam every time anyone went through it and the light from the hall shone through the door all night plus the double bed was tiny maybe a queen so not comfortable at all for 2 people. For the price it really wasn't worth and no breakfast was included plus you have to pay for parking so will definitely stay somewhere else when we come back to Lichfield.

Location. Stayed before many time for work
Bedroom door not sealed which let all light through from hallway. Noisy corridor during the night.Strong smell of cigarette smoke during the night, I was the second floor so not sure how this could have happened?! Iron terrible, kettle dirty so didn’t have a coffee in the morning.
The hotel location was excellent, easy to walk to everywhere in Lichfield including the railway station. We were pleasantly surprised when we entered the room to find that there was also a separate small sitting room with a second television, sofa, canned water and a bar of chocolate.Breakfast was fine and the coffee was good. The quality of bread used for the toast was high, actually better then in some 4 star hotels we have stayed in.The lounge area is a good size, with comfy seats and a cosy feel.
We found the bedroom to be extremely hot, but thankfully the windows opened so we could cool it down! Not all hotel windows actually open nowadays! The bar no longer served a few of the drinks listed on its menu, so was a bit disappointing - they really need to update the menu.
Lovely room, clean, good breakfast
The noise outside the hotel was horrendous. Lots of very drunken people very late at night. We paid a lot of money for the executive room. This room would be far better off situated at the back of the hotel for the money we spent. We will put our findings on social media as we don’t want this spoilt for others who pay the huge amount for the executive room.
Very clean and comfortable hotel, excellent breakfast, staff were friendly and we found our bed very comfortable. The building is very old so the floors make their own noises and the floorboards can be a little uneven but that is expected.
We was surprised that the food menu was quite simple, no homemade pies etc, but I believe they do a carvery on certain days plus when we stayed the restaurant was very quiet
hotel was easy to find. great that it had parking. some nice stairway inside and very pretty
slight bump/ uneven ness in the bed.
Very clean, superb breakfast, hotel located superbly.
Heater did not work so a new mobile one was brought in. Would have liked a street view and was told at reception I had got one, but I hadn't (very minor point), also reception guy was efficient at first but could have been a bit warmer; very good with the heater later on however (very minor point).
Huge breakfast! All staff were very attentive and polite. Close to town. Warm.
The room we were in was facing the courtyard. The noises outside our window (room 32) started shortly after 5am, mostly likely staff getting started. It was really loud and woke us up from that time. Possibly extractor fan and food/equipment being transferred in or out of hotel. No side lights or plugs either side of bed.
Very central but had to pay for parking at £10.00
£115 per night without breakfast is expensive
The George Hotel was very convenient for me. It was clean and tidy and the staff friendly and helpful.
My only negative comment was that the ensuite window is single glazed so, as it was very cold outside and the only heating on that room was a heated towel rail, the room was cool.
Location brilliant and lounge area very welcoming and comfortable.
Nothing I didn’t like. I’m sure there are nicer rooms at the hotel but room ok.
How clean it was and the location to the town
On arrival was greated by max at reception I thought he was very ignorant to be fair lacking communication tried to interact with him but was like talking to a brick wall dose need to look at his customer relations skills the room was fantastic but the noise of the night club across the road till 3 o'clock in the morning was very hard to sleep I will be staying there again but in a different part of the hotel
Great location
Staff dealt with you as though you were an inconvenience…rude. Being charged for parking
The hotel is very clean and staff extremely friendly and central to all facilities
That we had booked the room with evening meal and on a Sunday the restaurant isn't open so we were unable to have a Sunday lunch I think it's booking .com not not giving the correct information
Beautiful hotel Great location
Noise across the road (but we were made aware beforehand)
Location. Car park.
My room was tucked away at the top. Small, cold. Towels thin. Duvet too thin for this time of year.
Excellent location in the centre of Lichfield.
Room was on the front of Hotel which has a bar playing loud music till 2Am
Location. Breakfast. Comfy beds
I don't rate the food in the bar. Bland and dry
