Pros +
- Exactly what I was looking for. The rooms were cozy and functional. No problem accessing the shared bathroom, which had a good size shower. Towel & complementary toiletries were provided. Free wifi and car park. Great location. Friendly staff & real ale.
- There was a leak from the ceiling into the bedroom in the room I was staying in it wasn't the landlady's fault it is an old building things happen, it was slightly cold for me but my son and partner said it was warm enough for them. It's clean and tidy, the landlady and cleaner are lovely. Couldn't hear any noise from the pub downstairs slept like babies
- Location was good. Nice distance between town and train station. Friendly staff and the room was clean.
Cons -
- No problem for my son and I, but people with limited mobility might struggle with the stairs. If you want an early night, you might not like the music from the function room at weekends, but our rooms on the top floor were nice and quiet.
- Other than the dripping rain onto the bed it was a good hotel can't fault it. It's an old building there's always going to be something. I didn't mind it, I just doubled up with my partner so I was fine. Nice quaint hotel and it was a post office so plenty of back story if you like that sort of thing.
- The bathroom wasn’t great. And the shower was tiny, the shower curtain just sticks to you and there’s no room to move. The floors are very creaky too so you can hear the people above you very loudly.

For the price i paid, a comfortable bed in a good location and late notice, im happy with the experience.
The room did smell like damp so i wouldn’t have stayed for multiple days. There was also a smell of smoke around the upper floors. It would have been nice to know there was event on, but it was quiet by midnight so not a big deal. Overall for the price it was a convenient stay.
Good location to the town and piece hall , free parking on site which is always a bonus , good shower and Netflix
Room felt a little tired , expected a little more for the money ,, bed looked liked it had just been straightened out and not made properly , little details , disco going on in the pub until midnight which we were not told about

I do not recommend this...
The shower had no hot water. It was raining outside and there was water dripping from the ceiling on my bed. This accomodation is cheap but it's not worth it.
Lovely Hotel, Jackie very friendly and made to feel very welcome
No food on site, would have been great if breakfast available
Disappointing
My room was a roof space. Hit my head 3 or 4 times the first evening. had to crawl on belly to use electric sockets. Pub not open.
Lovely greeting, friendly.
Empty bottles on entrance stairs. Dark corridors making it difficult to negotiate stairways.
Location and clean
Shared bathroom, but the shower was very goid
Location is perfect for the town centre or Peace Hall. Staff were very welcoming. Check in early which was great for us. Room was clean and spacious.
Bed a bit tight round edges. Basic room but perfectly adequate for the price.
Location
I like everything didn’t get to meet staff as bar was closed when we got back from dinner but the lady did say she would be closing early
Location, bed is comfortable clean,
Heating just issue, no care taker there in case of emergency
Stayed here many times now. Ideally placed for Halifax town centre, just across the road from the Piece Hall. Always friendly staff.
Need to be careful with the sloping ceilings in the top floor rooms as a six foot tall man.
Nice hotel with a good bar below. Clean, comfortable room and a great breakfast. Well located on the edge of the town, only a few minutes walk from the city centre.
Great to be able to store bikes in the room, however a bit awkward getting them up to our floor in the lift - but a relatively minor issue.
All very good, staff were extremely helpful ,went out of their way to sort parking out as parking space is quite tight. I wasn’t due to book in until 1500hrs. But the room was ready so the girl took me to the room.
It was what I expected,I got what I paid for,no issues.
Parking, nice owner/manager, close to train stationEasy train to manchester or hebden bridge.
Not much of interest in town.Lighting in room was a bit poor, no bedside light or over sink for shaving.
A small, basic but clean and well presented room.
The staff
Floor in room creaked bed squeaked the electric shower box is near enough under the shower head and the box is away from the wall. The chap in the opposite room to our likes watching the TV so do we , But we switch off at 10 to sleep, he preferred to watch all night!!!
