1885 the Venue - Pub, Restaurant, Rooms & Function House

Spotless bedroom. Great shower. Great to have a restaurant on site.

Coffee and fruit juice should be included with the 'included' breakfast at present it's extra. Shelf needed in shower to put your shampoo when talking a shower. Apart from this the 1885 is a great place to stay.

Lovely clean hotel.Very comfortable room with a nice en suite.

Breakfast was mediocre, bacon overcooked and no service.

We felt very welcomed when we arrived. The evening and breakfast meal we had was excellent! Our stay was really nice as the room was clean, confortable and had a good nights sleep. We highly recommend and will be staying 1885 again. Special thank you to Nathan.

Staff (especially the lady manager) were very attentive and did everything the could to make us feel welcome, helped us with our bags (heavy as they were!)... just wonderful! Food at the pub was excellent!

The room was very clean, tidy and comfortable and I had a good night's sleep.The dinner I had in the evening was really nice and just what I needed after travelling all day. Location is good with a park next to the hotel and easy access to the countryside.Overall a good stay and comfortable nights sleep.

Nothing in particular, unfortunately the restaurant wasn't open in the morning when I went down for breakfast despite me requesting it for 7.30. However I spoke to Vicky who was very helpful and apologetic and refunded me the cost of breakfast.If the evening meal is anything to go by I would expect the breakfast to have been lovely and a good start to the day.I wouldn't let this small issue stop me from staying again when I'm next in the area as I am sure it was just a blip in the otherwise positive experience.

I was visiting a company nearby so location for this visit was great. Theres not much to do in this small village so if your using this as a base to travel around you will need to be prepared for being slightly isolated. Its a nice place and there another small pub closely that I visited and that was friendly and they provided food. But the quality of meals at 1885 was very good. Freee WIFI was strong, car parking at side and rear. Playing filed also at the rear. Good seating area at the side for when weather is nice. Staff were very good and friendly.

No complaints it was quite expensive just small amount of main meal was £22. But quality was very good.

Everyone was so helpful and lovely. The bed is the most comfortable bed ever, had the best night sleep. Breakfast was yummy.

The shower needed fixing.., the mechanism that holds the shower head in position was loose and it kept “drooping “ down ( probably just needs a screw tightening up), but o’wise the shower was great.

The morning traffic on the adjacent road was quite loud and busy but not much you can do about that.
