    Pros +

    • Very friendly staff, helpful. Excellent local ale from Bowland brewery Choice of breakfast - light or full option and decision can be made on the morning
    • it was quiet and efficient, charming staff and a comfortable room.
    • Very pleasant dining room, excellent food , and lovely outdoor seating . Just had continual breakfast which was very nice. Rooms bright and spacious with great tv.

    Cons -

    • my only quibble was that when staying in ground floor room it usually has a reduced opening system, to prevent anyone getting in ... I realise that the ground there is not accessible, but still find it odd not to have that safety system.
    • Noise from the road was too much. I’m used to a very quiet location at home and the change was dramatic.

I arrived late for dinner, but they were able to accommodate me, despite the lateness and the fact that they had a busy evening.

    Excellent food.

Lots of traffic noise. Very hard mattress.

    8ColinPosted on: 9-19-2025

A good light breakfast with optional cooked breakfast provided everything we needed to start the day.

Room felt a little cramped around the bed.Bathroom window will collected water during shower.

    Nice restaurant within hotel

The price of £120 per night should really include breakfast. I can stay in London for that price with b/f included. The shower had absolutely no pressure at all, and on checkout there was no one to talk to, only restaurant staff covering front desk as well so was busy

    8BrendaPosted on: 9-2-2025

    Staff excellent. Good evening meal.

Would be better for visitor rating if just added price of breakfast on night stay. £14 feels a lot but wouldn’t be noticeable if in an inclusive price. Fun filling kettle in the small sink

    Good

The site states it within walking distance of train station - It is too far to walk I had a station person give me a lift as no taxis available . Not your problem but I would recommend people book a taxi for pick up .

Nice friendly staff. Purpose built hotel rooms. We like that the hotel is dog-friendly and has a good car park.

Extra charge for breakfast. We asked to change rooms and our second room was better than the first - main problem was the pillows which smelt of sweat. I suppose it would have been very hot over the summer but this is something the cleaning staff should surely check.

Downstairs bedroom was a bonus. Food was very good.

Staff aren't particularly friendly.Bed was very hard.

The staff were amazing! The location is quiet and peaceful with a lovely sunset. The facilities are also lovely. The only thing we found is that the rooms weren't very soundproof. Some guests arrived late at night next door to us and though they weren't overly loud, it did keep us up a bit longer. That said, we would definitely go for an overnight weekend trip again.

All meals were excellent. Brilliant chef. The staff were very helpful, as although I had wanted a walk in shower this was not available and the staff provided me with a rubber bath mat so I could use the shower over bath. I was also allocated a ground floor room which actually suited me being over 80.

There was quite a bit of noise from the occupants of the room above mine. I was on the ground floor. Mostly the noise seemed like very creaky floorboards but that is a guess. I think the occupants changed during my stay and at one stage it was very noisy and then for a couple of nights not so much.
