About
Rose & Crown Hotel Tonbridge By Uno is an old English coaching Inn, set in the heart of Tonbridge. Located in the middle of Tonbridge High Street, and opposite the Ancient Castle and Tonbridge Public School. Rose & Crown Hotel Tonbridge By Uno is an impressive Tudor building, once a busy posting and coaching house. Refurbished to modern standards, with many parts of the hotel retaining its original character, with oak beams and Jacobean paneling. Easy access to the M25 Motorway, Gatwick Airport and the Channel Tunnel. Hever Castle, Chartwell, Churchill's home, and Penshurst Place are only a short drive away.

Pros +
- Location. Car park. Staff . Comfy large bed and breakfast. Mail building full of character.
- Friendly and welcoming staff. It’s an old, quirky building and no two rooms are alike.Location was great for access to bars and restaurants.Good safe parking.
- Staff seemed fine for the small interactions i had checking in and out
Cons -
- Lamps not working in bed room. Shower head holder loose.
- Floor was stupidly uneven and creaky, meaning that an already uncomfortable bed was on a slant so really hard to sleep in.Shower pressure also poor
- There were twin beds in the room and it was difficult to choose the more comfortable one of the two very low beds. The supposedly non-smoking room reeked so much of cigarette smoke that I had to leave the windows wide open on a rather chilly 5 degrees night. Even my coat and clothes in my overnight bag smelt of smoke the next morning. I have been staying at the Rose & Crown for quite a few years now but this much classify as my worst stay ever.

The only good thing is the location.

It had parking facilities and the local was perfect for accessing café, shops etc. the rooms were warm, tidy and fairly clean. The staff were very pleasant and provided a good hot breakfast.
There were several repairs needed in the room that could had been done cheaply. For example The shower head would not keep uptight and someone had tried to rectify this with come cable ties but this didn't work so it was dripping all night. The lights above the bed didn't work so they added a lamp but this was across the room. (no sockets by the bedside).Under the bottom sheet of the bed the mattress cover, although it was clean it was badly stained
Its location and the staff
Lovely building but in need of serious renovation
Central location, huge property, decent room size and linen and beds were okay
The bathrooms need a major refurbishment
The location is great in the High street, it is cosy place and the staff is helpful
The waste bin the toilet wasn't available. I was waiting for the breakfast and to check out a bit longer than expected, but it was not that much inconvenience.
Great location lovely staff comfortable...
The location is very good and with free parking. Breakfast was standard buffet but you could also get cooked, we just didn’t have time.
Very dated and creaky but on the whole you get what you pay for here, basic but good enough for the night.
Location was great. The price was ridiculously cheap. It was clean and comfortable. The room was a decent size.Good parking.
It is quite old and run down. The taps were a bit temperamental and it was easier to have a bath than a shower. Not expecting much for the price so this wasn’t a problem. No lunch or evening food offering on site but very close to lots of good restaurants.
The location is perfect, close to public transport and amenities.
This was one of the less comfortable rooms I have stayed in at the R&C. It is in need of refurbishment.
The breakfast was fine except for the cold coffee.
The bed and bedding were clean. The room was dusty on some of the furniture. The carpet clearly had not been vacuumed. The bath had dust around the bath tub. I am not sure if the toilet had been cleaned. There was a stool in the toilet. The radiator is set to the highest possible setting with no ability to turning it down. The knob was broken. Opening the window was no help against that heat and you had to contend with the traffic noise.
Very central location, friendly helpful staff, characterful old building
A bit run down, but still adequate for my nds
My room was comfortable and clean. I asked for a quiet room and it was. The reception is very helpful and friendly. It's a very old characterful building. Location very central and convenient.
Just carrying my suitcase up and down the stairs!
Location
Bar hardly stocked no hot food and no water offered
Good staff
There was a huge spider in the ceiling. The room was very dark and no ceiling lights - just side lamps. The bathroom didn’t feel very clean and had black mould and dirty shower curtain. The bed wasn’t made properly. The view from the window was messy, they havent cleared the grass is a long time.
It was a good location
It was dirty, one room too hot was offered another that was too cold, bathroom condition was poor.
Good location and price was good.
They advertise high speed internet, and it is far from it. Fastest I got was 40mbps. But in the evenings it kept dropping. As I was there for a week on business this was not ideal.
We booked this hotel as a extremely last minute because of all the weather that was occurring in the midlands so was charged £61 with breakfast included .......so to keep our plans that we were so looking forward too we booked this
Checked in late at 21.30pm the lady on reception was lovely The room was tired , holes in the carpet but bed comfy and clean.Breakfast..£14.95 ....A piece of back bacon , sausage , egg , hash brown , mushrooms covered in pepper , baked beans not available ....Juices well there was an inch of orange juice left in the dispenser at the bottom of the container if that Apple juice well no ...Coffee Luke warm.Toast if you weren't there you didn't get any ..No service to see if everything was OK.No breakfast sauces. No top ups of coffee or tea or anything .Once your breakfast was given to you that was it.We walked down the high street a day after when we actually saw the top floor of the hotel at the front of the hotel, with windows wide open with pigeons looking at us when we were walking along the street....Do not go here we really believe it's for now immigration people Look elsewhere....
