    Cons -

    • No water pressure on my night of arrival so couldn't have a shower, however pressure returned the following morning so all good in the end.
    • Room 5 the floor creaks a lot just as you get into the bathroom, bath tub water stopper is faulty not working as it should be let water out
    • My booking details were printed out and on public view at the bar as you walk in (my personal details not kept securely or privately). I didn't like the need to check in digitally in advance of arrival (which is why my details were on display at the bar). I would have preferred to check in on arrival and my booking held on their computer until I arrived. There was a large cobweb from the lampshade to the wall/mirror in my twin room suggesting the room had not been fully serviced or not for some time.

    Breafast wa excellent.

All night there was a constant noise that prevented a good sleep. Water pipes? Boiler? Refridgeration? Water tank filling? Washing machine in spin?

Lovely welcome & very comfy room with all facilities. Had a great evening meal in the pub downstairs followed by a good breakfast in the morning Plenty of parking & nice garden & terrace. The only ‘gripe’ was being next to the after hours entrance which was noisy after 11pm

Lovely quintessential english pub with a modern take

Iron in room didn’t steam, but thats all so really no real issues

    Shoddy attention to important things

Shower didn’t work! And as I was due in an early meeting there was no time to complain and get it sorted. Had to have a bath!!! Topped off by no coffee in the room…… bad bad experience

The building was very nice, well maintained and decorated. Staff were polite and helpful. The restaurant was too expensive. There were some issues with the shower/ hot water.

Very comfortable room and great breakfast . Didn’t need to eat all day!

Quite steep stairs up to rooms, someone with mobility problems would have struggled

    Pleasant room, friendly staff.

The handle fell off the shower and the shower was cold. Not a bit cool, I mean cold. No hot water pressure in the basin either.

Fantastic stay all round. Lovely room, friendly staff. Had evening meal there as well and was great. Breakfast very good

Perfect for me but location maybe a little remote for some

Nice food and comfy bed. Breakfast was good.

I emailed the company this the day after I left because I only like to give good reviews but no response. The hotel is good and the food was ok but the shower in room 8 didn’t work and when I told the guy on reception about it he really didn’t say anything other than it was my fault for not moving the shower nozzle to the basin. Quite patronising given I’m an engineer (he was wrong) and you should really just fix this old shower if you charge £100 a night. Also, trying to charge nearly five pounds to serve me one drink and two courses is ridiculous. I review regularly on Booking.com/Trip Advisor but ONLY give 5 stars to top quality venues.

Bed was comfortable but be nice to have comfy chairs to sit on.. Bathroom good size, nice towels, toiletries excellent. Showerhead needed deepclean, toilet roll holder fell off wall when trying to use toilet paper, sealing around one part of bath was missing. Chrome fitments were water stained.

7 of us had an evening meal in restaurant but when menus given to us weren't told that marmalade ham option was no longer available which 2 people wanted plus after ordering 3 pork belly meals were told 5 minutes later only enough fondant potatoes for 2 so l person had to choose different meal. On the 4 portions of Sticky Toffee pudding they were different sizes with a lack of Toffee syrup on 2 of the portions. Only 2 flavours of Ice cream available although menu said you could choose from 3 different flavours & we had nearly finished our puddings when the ice cream was brought out. Had to wait for pint of Guiness as no clean glass.

Excellent size room and large bathroom with underfloor heating. Bed was exceptionally comfortable. Espresso machine and lots of choice for tea, coffee, hot chocolate. We chose to eat the breakfast and there was a super choice. Overall, it's the ambience and decor which make this place so appealing. Restful interior matching any boutique hotel. They even provide a bed and a bowl for your dog!

It's only downside is that it isn't in the heart of a village and the scenery around isn't that amazing. But a short drive from here are good towns and villages

Main room was well rpesented and the bedrooms were modern, clear and a pleasure.

Breakfast didnt match up to the rest of the stay in terms of service, quality, or ambience.

    4McadamPosted on: 12-20-2024

Breakfast it self was OK, however no one had taken the butter out of the deep freeze soon enough before breakfast for it to be of any use whatsoever and when this was pointed out very little interest was shown. This establishment was far better when it was run by the previous owner. It has not benefited from being now owned by a large chain. Overall I won't bother again.

See above for not like, the parking was good.

Very clean, great rooms and the pub is lovely

    Nice room and pub

Doors slamming until late , need slow closing mechanisms Rubbish shower

    9GabrielPosted on: 11-16-2024

Fantastic location, dog friendly and rooms were really large and clean. INCREDIBLE breakfast

Dated and small bathroom, but our friends was very modern so investigate the different rooms.

Very good pub with rooms, off main road so fairly quiet. Big room with proper coffee machine and good walk-in shower. Dinner and breakfast good but more like decent pub food than gourmet, as expected.

Our room was under the office, with heavy footsteps above. Not a problem overnight but a bit of a nuisance at other times. A little pricey perhaps but we knew that when we chose a superior room.
