The Gordon House Hotel

Our room and ensuite were both large. Both were also gorgeously warm and cosy. Everything was clean and the towels were changed every day. Our room looked over the beautiful cobbled high street with the cathedral just opposite. A private safe car park for our car at the rear of the hotel - PERFECT

Great location on the High Street and near the railway station.

The hotel definitely has an air of faded grandeur. It was a bit down at heel but we had a very warm welcome, the room was clean and the bed was very comfortable.

We stayed here before and the staff are very helpful and friendly.

Needs updating, hotel is showing its age with some plug sockets in the room not working, paintwork in need of a fresh coat etc

Location was great.

Too hot in the room, radiator thermostat was broken, light fittings need a good clean. Pillows were compacted and solid.

This is a charming and elegant hotel with lots of character. The rooms are huge with lovely big windows. Perfectly comfortable. The staff are lovely. It was very very nice not staying in a corporate chain hotel. We enjoyed having a drink in the cosy bar. Excellent location.

Yes it’s a bit dated but I would call it faded elegance. The back entrance from the car park looks scruffy. We stayed on a Saturday night and our room faced the street which was noisy from people having fun on a night out.

Great room! Beautiful old building right in the middle of the wonderful Rochester High Street. So nice to find a hotel with character and not some soulless modern horror.

The hotel could do with some refurbishment. Especially the carpets!

Beautiful room, spacious, and nicely decorated. Loved the decor throughout the hotel. Friendly staff. Location is great for sight seeing.

A bit noisy being on the high street, if that would bother you ask about a room at the back of the hotel.

Really old fashioned and worn out. Also can't access front of building from 11pm to 7 am but staff do let you know that you have to enter from back lane. I wonder is it used as a homeless hostel mostly with one or two rooms to booking .com etc. Very dated mould in bathroom. No lift and about 3 floors up some really old stairs. Kind of grubby too dust everywhere and floors not hoovered. In fairness not like that in room rather just communal areas. We paid for deluxe double not sure what was deluxe about it. Very hard to get staff at reception. Had emailed for early check in but impossible to find anyone there, when 3pm arrived we had to wait for quite a while. I'd say its a homelessness accommodation generally. Just something didn't seem right tbh. Cld see kitchens on cameras at reception but wo knows where in building they were. Wouldn't stay again tbh

Immaculately clean, beautifully appointed ultra comfy bed, great staff.

I really couldn’t fault anything.

Very nice big room, very clean and comfortable bed.

Heating did not work, but we recrived immediately a little electric one.It would be nice if there would be a small cupboard to put cosmetic items on and .more towel hooks.

Did not supply any meals but a fish and chip shop next door was excellent and just across the road a cheese shop that supplied a fantastic breakfast.

Perfect position opposite the Cathedral. Kettle and coffee maker in the room. Very comfortable bed.

Street noise until late..... but the double glazing helps.
