Pros +
- The room was spacious, furnished to a high standard and the bed was very comfortable. The staff we pleasant, polite and helpful at all times and everywhere was very clean. Free access to TV streaming sites was good to have.
- Utterly depressing.
- Room good , clean , and reasonably priced.
Cons -
- Having a microwave in the room was excellent but a small fridge would also have been handy. There is no lift. Light sleepers be warned this hotel is next to the train station!
- The TV was out of focus. The bathroom was cold and the towel rail didn't work. The shower screen didn't pivot, it was glued to the bath so you couldn't reach into the bath to switch on the shower. The central knob which operated the shower was broken, the shower was a feeble trickle. There was no plug for the sink. The extractor fan was burnt out. The breakfast was in a white windowless depressing basement, the stairs were dirty. The continental breakfast was horrible.
- Wanted a full English breakfast , only did continental .

The beds was comfy and the room was very clean. Great place to stay for good price and the location was across from the station.
Noting not to like
Friendly welcoming staff, they also ordered a taxi for us.
The room was very tired, also dirty on some furniture, we also found a leather whip hanging on the ironing board.
Very clean room easy acces to hotel after hours saff very attentive staff receptionist was always checking we had enough coffee, tea sugar etc
We had a really good night's sleep ,breakfast was as expected. Staff very kind and helpful, Just over the road from the station, perfect. Recommend to anyone.
Clean and nice size room
I wish someone had told me this property was in Strood not Rochester
The room was clean and comfortable and Ali at reception was great. The receptionist who came later was great too
No microwave the tea cups in the room is too small.
Location was close by.
The carpet is a light grey and can see dirty marks
Most things
Creaky floor in room, small shower, cramped bathroom - could brush my teeth on the toilet and spit after.
Shower was nice and hot.Blackout curtains were very effective. Kettle and coffee station was a thoughtful touch.
Shower had hair in the tray from previous user.Sink drain trap was non-existent so the pipe was fully open, don't drop things down it as it would be gone forever!Staff were rude at check in and during the stay.Weird smell in the room, could have done with an air freshener. The whole place needed a face lift inside and out.
Our money was stolen, because the cancelled our reservation without notification. We had already paid in full
Worst ever accommodation
it's a basement location for breakfast which for us did not present a problem, good selection on offer for a continental breakfast with the option for fried eggs which were good. not a coffee machine but the same as in the room (sachets) again this was not a problem.
If you don't do stairs well this could be a problem for you although they do have ground floor rooms available
Very clean room, comfortable bed and accommodating staff. Great for a one night stay to visit Rochester just a short walk away.
A real minor thing, but I found the front door to the property a bit intimidating. I felt like I was entering a hostel

Absolutely disgraceful experience — avoid this hotel at all costsMy stay at Trivelles Rochester was one of the most stressful and unprofessional hotel experiences I have ever had.We booked this hotel specifically because we were attending a wedding at 2pm and needed an early check-in. We called in advance, confirmed early check-in was possible, and prepaid based on that assurance. On the day, when we phoned ahead, we were met with appalling behaviour. The man who answered refused to give his name, claimed early check-in “was not an option,” and then screamed at us for nearly 20 minutes. He couldn’t confirm our booking details, leaving us panicked and stressed just hours before the wedding. When we arrived, he briefly became apologetic, but then used derogatory and offensive language, repeatedly calling me “sister” in a way that was completely unprofessional and offensive. To make matters worse, the room we were finally given had a door that could not be locked, a basic safety requirement. This caused further delays and meant we were late for the wedding we had booked the hotel for.We attempted to speak to the manager about this shocking treatment. He refused to allow us to speak, offered no apology, justified the staff member’s disgusting behaviour, and implied that such behaviour was normal. He also offered no compensation for the distress, danger, and inconvenience we experienced. From start to finish, this stay was chaotic, disrespectful, and completely unprofessional. Trivelles Rochester failed on every level — safety, professionalism, and basic decency. I cannot recommend this hotel to anyone.
Cheerful helpful staff. Rooms clean and comfortable and close to station and Rochester
Nothing really. All the reviews we read were spot on so we knew what to expect.
Nearest to train station… reception are helpful and nice
No lift… (or we could not find it)but not a problem to us because we didn’t have large luggages.
Location
Staff noisy at reception at night until after 10pmShower not hot enoughBed uncomfortable
Most things I liked all but 1 mentioned in the next question
That there was no lift and we were on the top floor and when you have asthma and luggage I got very breathless
