- 3rd year of staying at the Crown Inn and the rooms and staff have never failed to disappoint. Very friendly, very accommodating and rooms are very comfy for a real relaxed stay. Food is incredible and the drinks and atmosphere bring a great comfort feel to the place
- Charming staff and atmosphere.Spotlessly clean but attention to detail imaginative and outstanding. All small extras provided ie tea, coffee, fresh milk (in mini crate) sherry in decanter! Excellent buffet breakfast, locally sourced and home cooked ham, tasty Cornish cheddar etc Crisp white cotton sheets on comfy bed.
- Lovely rooms, the bed was so comfy. We ate in the pub and the food was very good and plenty of good beer selection. All the staff were really friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was really good too with so much choice.
Cons -
- Ceiling height is a little low in the pub when walking around but other then that no complaints!
- A couple of niggly bits in both rooms prevented a 9/10 - 10/10 rating

Very comfortable hotel room set away from the main pub. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Great beers on tap. Even let us order a takeaway in when they had stopped serving food. Would definitely go back
Very Friendly and accommodating Host, Great Character/Historic buildings, Warm/Cosy, Lovely Pub, Good Communication from host.Would stay again and definitely recommend

Used the Crown to catch up with local relatives before Christmas. Great location, friendly staff, great service and will use again in future trips.

We loved the old buildings which were decorated for Christmas. Our room was stylish and cosy. The sherry and homemade biscuits were much appreciated.
Continental Breakfast was included. There was a good range of food available and you could have something cooked at a reduced price. Lovely to see so much local produce available. Owner and staff were very friendly and helpful. Loved the fact that fresh milk was delivered to my room every morning. Bed was very comfortable , room was warm and cosy. Lovely view of the garden.
My bedroom was a garden room, in an outbuilding dating back to the 12th Century and it was lovely. Only a slight problem was the entrance door to my room tended to stick and it took a bit of pulling and shoving to open and close. Not a major issues. Shower pressure could be a bit low, but there was a plenty of hot water.
Breakfast, dinner & room all good. Particularly liked the small bottle of fresh milk left every morning, outside the room. Decanter of sherry & Cornish cream shortbread biscuits in the room were a nice touch.
Nothing to not like or criticise.
It was nice a quite placePerfect location for what we needed visiting local villages a short drive away Owner Tim and staff were amazing couldn't do enough for you It felt more like staying with family to be honest Food menu was excellent with great quality its a very professional place we had sherry in the decanter in our room waiting and fresh milk delivered to the milk basket outside the door every morning and was also available if required on a nighttime Breakfast is recommend We'll definitely be going again soonTo have the winter experience of the open fire
Lovely inn with lots of character. Exceptionally pleasant staff throughout. Nice food (£40-£55 for 3 courses) & great Guinness (£6.40 a pint). We will definitely be back ❤️
Only one MINOR dislike. Room 3 really needs a mirror for titivating purposes, perhaps on the side of the wardrobe or on the inside of the wardrobe door? There’s one in the bathroom but it’s no use for the aforementioned purpose. As I said, very minor point.
Nice old pub, good location. Quiet
Food portions not great. The food itself was average and expensive (fish and chips were poor)
Dinner was fantastic, excellent homemade food. Very friendly staff, comfortable and large bed with comfortable pillows!!
Lovely traditional country pub in a quiet village setting.Enjoyed three courses for evening dinner and a perfect Full English for breakfast .
Warm welcome, friendly staff. The room was comfortable and welcoming, shortbread biscuits and tea making facilities were welcome. Fresh milk available and delivered to your door in the morning. Beds were comfortable. Breakfast was good with the option to add cooked breakfast. Good evening food
Hard to find faults worth commenting on
Lovely room .very helpful staff and landlord close to all things we wanted to do .lovely breakfast selection .lovely to be able to eat in pub evenings
Great room, lovely staff and good food and beer!
Having to leave!
I liked my scrambled eggs, but they weren’t part of that breakfast offer. The sherry on arrival was very much appreciated. A nice touch!
Could have had a more flexible shower head, as it was fixed more or less to one angle. The soap dispenser needed changing.
Good service and welcome. Comfortable bed. Well equipped room tea etc. Good restaurant. Great breakfast.
