Pros +
- The food was excellent. Breakfast was included in the room charge . Full English Breakfast. Every time I asked for anything it was provided immediately. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The room was cleaned every day and tea and biscuits were always refilled
- Staff friendly and helpful. Rooms clean and a decent size, all onsuite. I had four rooms booked and we were all next to each other. Full English for breakfast, which was huge. Toast, fruit, cereal and yogurts on offer too. Unlimited tea, coffee and juices. Highly recommend.
- After a difficult train journey, I cannot fault the evening staff who were incredibly helpful to ensure that despite a later arrival, there was a meal and glass of cold wine for me.
Cons -
- The room was a little small and so was the bathroom.
- Bedroom was tired and seen better days. The hot water tap in the bathroom is dangerous. Fire alarm went off at 0150 and 0400, with no follow up that it was a false alarm. In the morning, no apology made, in fact breakfast staff were rude and dismissing of it. I don't accept that this was value for money at £130 for one person for one night.
- we had to wait for more than 40 minutes for our sandwiches at the bar. in the end we left. They gave us a takeaway bag but we threw it away.

perfectly decent for a night stay
we had to wait for more than 40 minutes for our sandwiches at the bar. in the end we left. They gave us a takeaway bag but we threw it away.
Central location and lovely pub with good food but we were in an apartment down the road.
Apartment 14 - kitchen floor so sticky my socks got stuck! Cobwebs and about 6 bulbs out including no bulb at all in my bedside light. Small bed and bath that you couldn’t have a bath in!!!
Location
Paint falling off ceiling, wallpaper rolling off. Shower needs urgent descale as only a few holes worked and you needed to turn shower on 10 minutes to allow for hot water to eventually come which was warm. Hot and cold taps on sink are Wrong way round. Bar area and reception floor extremely sticky. This is a very tired place and needs an overhaul. Was definatkry not worth the rate I paid for sure
I had a comfortable stay with all my needs catered for room clean and comfy, food was plenty.
Bedroom comfortable but far too hot. Couldn’t open windows because of noise.
Room was slightly on the small size but in fairness we were there for only one night.Breakfast was excellent as was the chap who served it.Facilities were good and well placed in the town. The ballroom where we were dinning was within 10 yards of our room.
We had a dinner for 35 people. The room was on the chilly side. The staff put the thermostat on but the boiler was not on. They put this right before the dinner. The room was not cold for the meal.
Friendly attentive staff. Great cooked English breakfast. Comfortable room. We will certainly return
Room and bathroom were a little tired but very comfortable with lovely bed
Central, car park, pleasant staff, nice breakfast and a good place to stay for the night. I met a friend for lunch and enjoyed the wine and wrap for lunch before going onto a birthday party later in the day. My single room was bigger than anticipated which was a nice surprise and although rather dated it was clean and warm with a comfy bed.
The only complaint I have is the room was below (or above) what sounded like a water tank being filled all night.
they made breakfast to go as we had to leave early
there was not much parking - and we had to park in the parking of the town - and staff did not warn us that it’s going to be a market and we cannot park there - it was lucky we needed something from the car and had gone out and a farmer was setting up and let us know we need to move our car - otherwise we would have been stuck for the day when we had to leave early for work - I asked the staff where to park and they should have warn us.
Good value for money. A good quality breakfast was included in the price.
Car park on site was quite tight and busy but there was off site parking.
Breakfast was good , staff efficient in knowing what was on offer , also my wife was able to order her breakfast which wasn’t on the menu , also quick with the food to the table.
The television didn’t work very well , kept cutting out saying no signal , and the indoor aerial no good either. Also had trouble connecting to the WiFi.
Great location. Parking good. Lovely bar/pub. Really friendly staff. Huge breakfast.
Good location. Great potential. Attentive staff.
Areas are shabby. It was noisy due to a wedding, we didn’t mind but some would ( pour profits from weddings into better widows) . During our visit I kept thinking who’s responsible for the building? Effort has clearly been made with the decor, though not everywhere, carpet on the stairs shabby, curtains look stylish but don’t draw properly and let in morning light with no blackout blind to assist. Old redundant fixtures remain in the bathroom, these look dirty ( fairly as so old)….so who is responsible for the building? It left the impression that the staff are doing their very best as bedding, bathroom etc were very clean where possible , but someone above their pay scale is making their efforts diminished due to a lack of care ( leaks, peeling paintwork etc) whoever you are please give your deserving team something a little bit better than you’ve left them to polish x
Very nice staff. Location was useful. Room was clean. Check out time - though stated as 10am - seemed pretty relaxed. Breakfast was prompt and generous.
The room was way short of what I expected for this price point. The room was very small. The towels were old, the room was shabby: with holes in the ceiling where something had been removed and a new item added that left a void. The bathroom was clean but very old, with a shower unit that had been removed but remnants left in situ. The room was in dire need of a refresh. The music until 12 was fine, but again at this price point I don't expect a disco.
The room was a little outdated & could have done with a lick of paint to freshen it up, but the bed was comfortable & clean & the location of the room meant I wasn’t disturbed with events being held at the hotel during the time of my stay.I had the breakfast which was very good & plentiful & set me up for the day.
The room had had some repairs carried out which weren’t to the highest of standards, things like the mastic in the bathroom looked like it had been applied with a trowel which if done properly would help in making the room look cleaner & sharper. The staff were really helpful & friendly & accommodated my early departure on check out day which I really appreciated.
Room was comfy and very clean with everything we needed for our stay x Breakfast was delicious we added another family member which was no trouble at all.
Nothing it was lovely
Plenty of space in the apartment for all of us. Breakfast was very nice and staff friendly.
The apartment was a little cold over night.
