Pros +
- Our room was spacious and dining areas were well laid out. Meals were excellent
- Clean, beautiful grounds. Pleasant staff. Great breakfast.
- Perfect location. Beautiful hotel. Good size room. Great shower and body wash/handwash smelt lovely. Bed was comfortable.Appreciated having a free fruit (apples) available at the reception and bar area.
Cons -
- Windows in the room were open on arrival so the room was cold for several hours. Bathroom needed a deep clean to remove mould from around the shower area on the bath. There was no fridge in the room which is expected for a 'luxury' room.
- No view from twin room. My friend and I were sharing, a view would have been nice - especially for the money. Had a car issue in the morning. The receptionist took no notice. Nothing serious but she could have shown some concern to two OAPS sitting in reception trying to get the RAC. Perhaps she didn’t notice?!
- Wasn’t too impressed with the food. Had salad for dinner and sourdough bread with a poached eggs and smoked salmon for breakfast (see photos). Also I’ve had better pillows and bathroom lighting wasn’t great for putting on the makeup.

Always a wonderful, such pleasant staff
I don’t like the loud noises from the chairs in the restaurant..And sometimes the music in the restaurant in the morning is not appropriate ( rap music sometimes) but the food is always lovely
The staff ! From reception , wait staff and cleaners passing in the corridor everyone extremely friendly. Happy to assist with anything very attentive . They made our stay extra special . The property is beautiful but the staff made out while stay complete .
Beautiful surroundings, lovely airy rooms
We stayed for a family celebration and the whole stay was wonderful! The staff were friendly and efficient and accommodated our need for 2 ground floor rooms next to each other. The rooms were clean with comfortable beds and the facilities at the hotel were excellent. We enjoyed fabulous breakfasts and the family celebration went well. The hotel has lovely grounds and seating areas to enjoy.
We enjoyed everything!
Stunning place in a great location, spacious room with an amazing view of the grounds.
The food was average, did not live up to expectations.
Exceptional staff service at reception, especially from Fasih, and, during dining from Dale, which made our stay most memorable; thank you all.
Beautiful hotel and lovely gardens. Very comfortable and quiet and a great location. We ate at the restaurant both evenings and was very impressed by the staff and quality of the food. You should be extremely proud of one particular gent - apologies I didn’t get his name ?( had a beard) his hospitality skills were second to none, in fact nothing was too much for any of the staff and they are worthy of high praise.
The receptionist was very helpful and obliging. He found my partner's lost scarf!
Very expensive meal.No porridge at breakfast.Nowhere in the hotel could one watch the climax to the Master's Golf.
The architecture, the setting and the decor.
The room had a couple of issues - toilet roll holder was broken, soap holder was also broken and one bottle of soap was missing. I also had packaging for the bed runner left in the room. Nothing that would overly spoil the stay, but with such an initial impression, it’s not what one would expect. The biggest disappointment was the bar closing so early - I’ve not stayed in many large hotels that closes a bar when paying customers are still in the area.
Hotel was in a beautiful setting. Room was very nice.
No soda water or diet coke first night, bar staff informed us that the machine was not working, it would be fixed next day, which it was. Breakfast was a let down as no yogurts, no strawberries or raspberries with fruit salad, no bananas, no coffee pot despite tea pots available.
We had a breakfast, salad for lunch and dinner in the hotel. The food was very good and nicely served. Hotel restaurant had a nice terrace and view into the garden.
For some reason every British hotel I went had a problem with bathroom installations. This time it was leaking seal between tap and shower, bath front panel damaged by water running along a shower screen, uneven laid tiles. Missing decent light above the bathroom mirror was just a negative bonus.
Always a beautiful stay , friendly staff and delicious breakfast
Amazing old building that has unfortunately had its soul ripped out.
rooms are a rip off. upgraded and ended up in a tiny box room with small bed. dark and noisy. premier inn better and cleaner. much up the walls, bits on the carpet, toilet dirty. dirt, food and crumbs all over the carpets around the hotel. staff inattentive. evening food terrible. booked 5 rooms and the ‘Deluxe’ were worse than the standard ones. just such a shame it was so dirty everywhere and not at all ‘high end’ although pretends it will be. lovely building but interior decor horrific. save your money and go somewhere that still has a soul and where you and the property are treated with some care. big thumbs down from us.
Staff were very helpful and apologetic
Room was dirty and rundown with marks on the furniture. Room was very small and smelt of cigarettes!
very professional and friendly staff, great room, excellent breakfast and everywhere very clean
Friendliness of the staff. Clear signage. Decor.
It would have been good to have 2 chairs in the double room. Also more than 2 coat hangers in the big wardrobe!
Overall very nice. Good room and very clean.
No pool or Spa.
Comfortable bedQuiet and pleasant surroundings Lots of fresh air and facilities at the weddingwe attended were very good
There were no lifts in Hepburn House so carrying luggage up and down the stairs was a little difficult
