Really lovely staff, we had a nice stay here.

The room we had was pretty small so it felt a bit cramped, it was also quite susceptible to noises outside the room.

Cleanliness

The shower head was broken and the tiny bathroom as well as the room we stayed in

Staff were extremely helpful and friendly, blonde lady on reception was so kind to make our stay easy and comfortable. Nothing was too much trouble!

Our mattress on the second night felt like a water bed, luckily we can make light of things and found the fun side (fine for 1 night) as they did everything they could to help us at short notice for needing accommodation and squeezed us in for a second night even when they were pretty full for a wedding anniversary. They managed to accommodate to everyone's needs and environments so the quieter stays wouldn't even notice the celebrations (which looked superb!). The room on the first night was perfect; as was everything I else. Very great staff

Beds were comfortable

Windows were noisy they rattled and one of the rooms smelt musty

Room was spacious, quiet and comfortable, very warm and good views from the window. Beds were excellent and we had a good nights sleep. Breakfast was good, lots of tea and decor in breakfast room was of the period. We liked the paintings.

There could have been more light in the tea/coffee area and there was only one chair to sit on in a room that was for 3.

I have been here previously and cannot fault the hotel. A wonderful clean hotel which everything one needs and with excellent staff. A+++

Comfy Bed, great breakfast, sea view. A very pleasant stay.

Hotel was lovely for older people but seaside location was perfect for that stay

Toilet was broken and dripped all night also heating wasn’t on and radiator wouldn’t come on it was freezing zero sleep was had unfortunately so stay at night was not enjoyable but if it was fixed it would have been lovely we did report to the man walking about

I have stayed many many times at this hotel. It is very convenient on my frequent visits to family in the area. It’s clean comfortable and subjects to the room or floor you are allocated your stay varies. For some reason you can’t always ( more often than not) hear chairs/ furniture/ windows being moved in evenings well after 2200 hrs. Somehow I only notice this when staying on floor #1 Again this time in evening at bedtime the noise starts which isn’t great. However I will stay here again I future as the location and cost is good for my needs. Usually always cheaper than premier inn

Some strange floor scraping noises and sash window banging often suffered in my r3cent few stays.

We were very happy with our stay. Staff were really helpful and accommodating, nothing was too much trouble. We had also booked the hotel for our family funeral and it was all done beautifully. We spent time with our family in the bar which was all very relaxed and never rushed. We appreciated the friendly atmosphere and great food.Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable.

The downstairs toilets, near the bar, could use a spruce up! Glasses provided in the bedroom would have been appreciated for water, to take medication or in the bathroom for rinses after brushing teeth. I am sure that had we asked these would have been readily provided.

The room initially chilly, but a potable electric heater was provided swiftly to counteract that situation. (Thank you).

Very friendly staff at reception,bar, restaurant, and housekeeping.Small problem was remedied promptly by maintenance.

Room very basic,furniture tired poor lighting throughout the room,especially bathroom. Linen is very good quality, but the mattress is extremely uncomfortable and right side sloped. I understand this is an older building,but windows rattled very loudly and let a lot of cold drafts in the room when curtains were open.

The staff were friendly and there when you needed them. The location near where we needed to be was excellent. Ease of booking, registering and leaving was good.

Access to the shower was limited as the door opened onto the toilet. The water in the shower did not maintain a constant temperature making it unusable. Every sound from the room above was audible including the use of their toilet.

Total stay was lovely. As it was a family funeral it was a sad occasion but all the staff were extremely kind and helpful. It was like being at home and everything we needed or asked was immediately provided. Thank you it was a great family get together. Food was good and staff unobtrusive but very helpful.

The weather!

Rooms were clean and good value.

We went there to stay near a relative who uses a wheelchair who was celebrating her 80th birthday and booked a lunch for her the day after our stay. But it emerged that there is no disabled access to the hotel. They have installed 4 huge steps. No one disabled would be able to work at or stay in this hotel (or attend weddings or functions). No ramp available. The manager was rude and unapologetic, refused to speak to us about it; in fact we heard him answer aggressively from the kitchen “no access; end of”. The hotel is in contravention of the Equality Act. They used to have a ramp but recently replaced it with stairs.

The pub has a nice atmosphere and the staff were friendly. It’s in a lovely old building, close to the sea front.
