Pros +
- The Hotel is lovely inside and out, nice spacious rooms, large walk in shower, staff very kind and polite. We were attending the races so the location right on the race course was brilliant. And the breakfast was fresh and delicious. It was a very cold day and the room was lovely and warm.
- Great location, hotel, room, facilities, food and staff
- Very pleasant room. breakfast was good and evening meals were excellent
Cons -
- We were unfortunate that it was very wet and windy for our stay so moving from our room to the main building was a bit of a pain
- Creaking floor board just outside room and the corridor fire door ,at said floorboard , needs a little wd40… ?…food n drink menu in hotel used to be very reasonably priced , now it’s went a bit more upmarket the prices have increased significantly in a very short space of time … eg . Bottle of wine now up to £25.50 , last year £22. Year before £19.50 … fish n chips £14,,, now £17 …as hotel prices go ,it’s still reasonable but , we’d probably eat elsewhere.. also won’t stop us from returning time n time again
- The staff had an air of arrogance which was off-putting. You could easily hear less than sober guests making a lot of noise in the hallways when returning to their rooms. Lots of unpleasant older golfing men as guests who were loud and rather misogynistic, making shared spaces (like breakfast) less enjoyable.

Stay here regularly throughout the year when racing is on , staff are amazing , can’t do enough for you .

The night manager on duty the night of July 23 was phenomenally friendly and welcoming. He knew his local info as well. It was the nicest warm welcome I have ever received. Walking the race track was interesting as well.
Very large room (we were in a building separate to the main reception building). Vast onsite parking for guests. Clean and well appointment room.

Spacious room with desk, two lounge chairs and sideboard. Modern bathroom with an excellent shower. Extensive breakfast options. Staff was very helpful throughout, and they even offered us a parking spot for our motorcycles that was out of sight from the street. Price was good value for the quality of the service and facilities.
The rooms are in a different building than the restaurant which requires a walk, uphill for those that might care, and, obviously, outside which means a jacket and umbrella in inclement weather.
We always stay here when we’re at the racing . Always faultless , spotless and the staff are so friendly and helpful , food is exemplary ??
Nothing much , maybe squeaky floorboards in the annexe building room .
The room was outstanding. The bed was very comfortable. Excellent shower. Breakfast was very good. Enjoyed our stay.
The main part of the hotel was very clean and the grounds spectacular. Our room needed more attention.
Room was excellent , it was spacious , clean , toiletries, bath robes overall excellent. Staff were polite and friendly . Prices of drinks excellent value with plenty of choice. We had breakfast from the buffet and there was plenty of selection eggs, sausages, bacon , black pudding , haggis, tatties scones , mushrooms as well as cereals fruit and yoghurt. Location was perfect as we were attending and event at the racecourse.
Could not fault this hotel at all service was excellent and the price we paid was so much value for money.
The main hotel was pleasantly more than we expected. All staff were very friendly and smartly dressed. Great value for money, and we would definitely stay again, just not in the courtyard rooms
We were in the courtyard rooms, which are presently being refurbished, which in itself didn't cause us any concerns., as our room had been modernised to a good level. But the walls are paper thin, we could hear the rooms around, above and down the hall. I would suggest trying to put in more soundproofing .
Our room was ready early so we were able to make the most of our stay, our room was huge, beautiful and clean, We stayed for dinner which was amazing, service was really quick and professional. The staff were really friendly and we will definitely be back.
Very friendly staff. Late arrival but still someone there to check us in which was lovely.Extremely clean
No late food.
Menu had a good selection. Venue is close to the town centre and not too expensive.
the check-in process, the service in the restaurant was good until i had a long wait for my 3rd course and had to chase up the waitress. the double bed was actually two beds joined together which weren't quite the same height and the room got quite cold during the night so i didn't sleep all that well.
Upon arrival, a warm friendly welcome at the entrance is the start of a great stay. Attention to detail is obvious from the beautifully kept gardens to the lovely clean rooms and great food. Above all, the staff are excellent from check in through to check out, thankyou!
Breakfast was excellent.
Service in the lounge....glasses not cleared away. Cutlery not brought before food so food got cold waiting for the cutlery. Had to ask for salt, sauce etc and food got colder...
A good spacious room with a cot. Good parking. You can eat in the lounge which is very convenient.for having children with you.Nice gardens to walk and sit in.
No breakfast buffet bar so breakfast is slow and cumbersome although a good breakfast when served.
Clean modern hot
Our breakfast took a long time to arrive and when it did it was not cooked properly. We did not have time to complain as my daughter was playing in a golf competition and we had to leave.
Convenient, easy to find, good parking
The hotel picture features the lovely old art and crafts building … the ‘courtyard’ rooms are actually in a rubbish looking modern block
We liked the helpful staff, comfortable room and perfectly maintained grounds.
It is quite expensive.
