Stayed here often always had a lovely room and a really good breakfast and the staff are lovely
Friendly staff and warm cosy rooms. Very good shower. Good options at breakfast time. Would recommend the porridge.
All good
Staff are friendly, good food also. Great location next to the beach. Our 2nd time here and will definitely be back.
Great location right by the beach and the staff at the front desk and restaurant was very friendly. Convenient free parking right across the street. Family rooms in the attic were spacious and had nice skylights that could be opened.
Rooms are a little old with creaky floors.
Very friendly staff Good location
The beds were very uncomfortable ? Sagged I the middle leading to a very uncomfortable sleep and a sore back in the morning
Central spotless and very welcoming. Food superb
Excellent dinner & Breakfast.
The cistern in the toilet took ages to refill, quite noisy!
Good location. Pity the car park is a public one but it was fine.
The room was small but clean. The breakfast finished quite early...9 :30. Another half hour would have been nice.
The restaurant was appealing and had a good menu. The location was good for a promenade walk and sea views. The hotel requests guests to respect others and be quiet after 10.00pm which seemed to work.Nice duvet and pillows. Well stocked hospitality tray. Very effective radiators.
Unfortuneately we had a new young waitress who hadn't been told to correct mistakes she has made i.e. provide the full serving of ice cream dessert not just what she remembered. I was not impressed that she just walked away when I said I couldn't understand why she wouldn't put her mistake right. I had to go to the manageress and explain that we want ed what we had ordered and this was provided.I had requested a quiet room but also mentioned my husband had poor mobility. We were given a ground floor disabled access room which would have been fine but it meant everyone passed us. The hotel floors are very noisy and all the doors bang shut. The room soundproofing is minimal. We didn't have any hot water, I reported this in the morning.
Hotel is in a great location, very clean hotel, staff very friendly, food was excellent and very good value for money, will definately be back.
Good location Good parking Comfortable roomFriendly helpful staff Comfortable bedsGreat WiFiFab bar and tasty breakfast
Slightly dated roomNeeded a bit of TLC particularly bathroom
The food at dinner and breakfast was lovely and good value for money. Loved the big full basket of hot toast. The staff were attentive and friendly and the choices on the dinner menu were very good.
When booking, it said that rooms had panoramic views of the seafront. Our room was downstairs and we couldn’t even see out a window. It was all frosted glass, so it wasn’t nice at all. The room was basic, needed a new carpet and the pillows were very thin and not enough of them. It was great having a bath, as many hotels now only have showers. We tried to stream the Disney channel and the film kept buffering, so we had to turn it off which was disappointing.
Location,staff,and ivould take the dog
The room as attic style we kept banging our heads lol.maybe for smaller people
We arrived for Ayr races for the day and booked this hotel just for location. We arrived at midday and went to reception and said we are here to check in. Didn’t even take our name or check we had a booking and just said come back at 3pm. We stored our bags in a random room that wasn’t locked or secure and got changed in the disabled toilet. When we arrived back after the races the room cleanliness and standard was very very poor.I won’t be back.
Location and Breakfast were great
Management was not professional or apologetic for the inconvenience we experienced, due to a broken boiler. Dreadful shower pressure..
Dinner was lovely,
Before our stay, I phoned to book restaurant, I was told there were 2 options - one for 2 courses and one for 2 courses and a cocktail. However, when seated at the restaurant, I was advised that Saturday was only 2 courses and a cocktail and we had to take that which was more expense and cocktails not all that good. This was the only thing that I could fault during our stay.
This was our 4th time at the horizon I had trouble managing the stairs to my room Zoe the girl on reception got me a ground floor room nothing was a bother I always tell people it’s a 3star hotel but with 5star food and staff
