Pros +
- Cannot fault the staff. Everyone in the hotel was extremely friendly and helpful.
- Staff were so attentive, nothing was a problem. Bedroom was warm and a good size. Bed was super comfy, lovely bouncy duvet and pillows.Evening meal was beautiful. Great swimming pool and jacuzzi. Can't comment on the sauna or steam room. Spacious dressing room.Overall decor of the hotel was very elegant.
- Friendly, helpful staff. Very clean, great atmosphere in every aspect from the bar to the spa. Great food, great drinks, fantastic views as well.
Cons -
- Almost £500 for a two night stay was completely let down by the tired looking Spa facilities and a plastic p-shaped bath with handheld shower in our room. I requested a room with a bath and was so disappointed to find the cheapest, plastic bath that belongs nowhere near a five star hotel. It really cheapened the experience. The Leisure suite(pool, sauna/steam room) are so tired and antiquated - it felt like using a local council facility. For the price we paid we probably wouldn't return.
- Only one size of dressing gowns available, I had my 8 year old daughter with me and it would have been nice if she could have had dressing gown and slippers too.My evening meal was charged to the room, I signed the reciept and added 15% gratuity, but at check out i realised they had already applied a service charge.
- Nothing, all good.

Nothing, all good.
When we arrived, we were met by very friendly and helpful staff on recption and in the waiting areas. It was exceptional service and good food in the Seal. There were decent facilities in the spa and having a robe and slippers in room is great.Location is fantastic.Troon itself is a lovely get away, check Ferry times to Arran.
We booked this very last minute as a spontaneous decision to get away. Hotel had great reviews. However, our room was very small, tripping over each other. Pillows not comfortable for me, too soft.Bathroom old although everything worked. No proper mirror to get ready by..
The interiors were beautifully designed and there was a cosy atmosphere just before Christmas. Right next to the long beach which was a lovely walk into town. The spa was nice and we had a great massage. The pool area was lovely with view out yo the coast.
Due to the time of year there were a lot of new younger staff being trained in the bar and restaurant. Unfortunately we had a few occasions where there was some confusion and the service was not 5 star. However this could due to the time of year. The room we had was very small for a king room. There was not enough room for a side table on either side of the bed and the room felt dark and claustrophobic. This was exacerbated by the internal view that overlooked the roof of the kitchen. All in all it did not feel like a 5 star king room so would suggest opting for a suite or sea view room to ensure you don't end up in this one.
Excellent gym facilities. Liked Seal friendly and service was fine
Bathroom was way too small for a couple although I understand the building outs constraints on this
Lovely hotel, very clean. Food was exceptional.
Very relaxing , staff were very helpful and friendly.
Room and Restaurant very nice
Leisure facilities need more investment
A friendly and welcoming hotel with helpful staff
The drinks menu
Swimming pool and cocktails in bar
Breakfast was good apart from bacon not cooked enough and fatty
Facilities and the staffBreakfast and bar meals
Lack of decent hot water, in the basin and shower. Had to run the bath to then warm the shower that never got up to temperature.. reported to staff who explained to run the bath first
A great Seaview from the room we had. The entire hotel is just fantastic, great décor throughout and the best staff I have ever come across, they were friendly and very efficient. The breakfast was simply superb.
Although the bathroom was really nice, it was just a little small.
Went therel last year for the wife’s retirement and birthday everything was great this time I felt the hotel had lost its appeal the upgrade for the room I felt was poor we missed the sea view wasn’t keen looking out window pigeons looked like they were nesting in roof panels the view was very poor .
Reception were ment to book restaurant for Saturday 7pm when I checked with the restaurant they had not received notification when I explained it was my wife’s birthday they fitted us in . The food choice in the main restaurant was limited to choice not the same as last year . I felt the young staff were not very confident in their service and when I asked for mushrooms no one came back to notify us they weren’t available . We also had to ask to get a drink service which I felt they should have asked us when we sat down
Everything, from cleanliness to food and friendly staff.
The jacuzzi pool was the size of a child’s paddling pool, fitting three people! Not good enough for the size of the hotel and other facilities.
Staff working in the hotel are outstanding, extremely friendly and helpful. My neice has autism and the lovely lady running the restaurant accommodated her dietary requirements and befriended her, other staff members were eager to help us enjoy our stay reception staff, hotel porter and bar staff were all amazing. Hotel is decorated beautifully and maintained well. The two restaurants serve delicious meals and cocktails and the breakfast experience was excellent, lots of variety. The wellness centre has a lovely swimming pool/ jacuzzi . Pool toys for kids which was good for my neice. The bedroom was decorated beautifully, I enjoyed the condiments and espresso machine. I did not notice any noise from outside or other rooms.
That we cant afford to stay every week .
Great breakfast and walk on the beach in morning.
Slightly isolated location.
We had a brilliant stay at Marine Troon, the staff were amazing, especially the woman that check us in she went above and beyond and absolutely made our stay, we can’t wait to come back!
Nice breakfast, exceptionally friendly staff good facilities
Prices a little bit steep
Fantastic staff throughout the hotel. Excellent food with choice of two good eating places. Many coastal walks and spoilt for choice with golf courses in the area.
Location was spot on for trip
Even though it’s off season staff and facilities are on point,
