Pros +
- Its location ie the surroundings
- Everything it was a great stay , rooms are cosy with very nice decor , staff are so friendly and attentive, food was unreal the Beef Wellington is a must
- Still the traditional Burns hotel with a homely modern style
Cons -
- When we arrived there was a wedding on and I takes over the fill place so you are mingled into someone else’s wedding. Staff weren’t helpful also I paid nearly £400 for a room and wasn’t allowed a table for lunch the next day as they were full but there was like 4 people down having lunch. It was a total joke and won’t be returning. Waste of money.

Room with Balcony, looking on to stunning gardens
Hotel was lovely. The room we had been allocated had a very noisy radiator, so the staff moved us to a lovely room over looking the river. The room was super, fab shower and fab outlook to the river and bridge.Evening meal was delicious and the Resurant was stunning, breakfast was also very good.Staff very nice and hotel was very clean.Only draw back was very limited parking.
Lack of parking
Lovely room with balcony with the river running by
A gorgeous traditional hotel in a beautiful setting. The accommodation and the food were excellent. The staff were welcoming and helpful. Loved it.
The lack of parking. Had to park on the street.
A fantastic location with lots of history. The building is beautiful, rooms fantastic and staff friendly. Stayed two nights, wish it could have been longer
I found it difficult to find availability, glad I persisted. Parking is a bit of an issue, pull up on the main road to unload bags and the staff will point you in the right direction for parking.
Great cooked breakfast to order. Lovely setting for a hotel by the river & bridge
Newly renovated room, great balcony, quiet, clean, friendly
Beautiful hotel and gardens, meals in restaurant excellent, comfortable bar area and very friendly staff
Toast being served with the breakfast not help yourself
Great Hotel with friendly staff. Good location and good breakfast.
No parking anywhere
Such a lovely property. From the views to the grounds. We stayed in one of the newer rooms which were tastefully appointed with gorgeous views of the garden and the stream. The common areas have clearly been thoughtfully curated to provide a niche vibe for a variety of sizes of groups. Though I have no reason to go back to the area anytime soon, I would reroute just to stay there again.
Beautiful setting, venue, decor, rooms, and furnishings, and outdoor spaces. Excellent and attentive staff - absolutely brilliant and we will definitely come back.

Our room was located looking into the bridge it was stunning ,,,our stay was lovely staff couldn’t do enough for us ,food was exceptional look forward to staying again hopefully .
break fast was excellent good service & food eggs benedict very nice also coffee perfect
i like the staff, pleasant & helpful, rooms where excellent condition the new ones we where in view over looking the river doon tops
Very clean, comfortable, friendly & helpful staff, lovely grounds & views from bedroom. Lovely comfortable bed. Very good evening menu & wide selection for breakfast.
Lack of car parking facilities but able to park FOC close by. Although the bedroom & bathroom facilities were excellent, the bathroom lacked a shelf & the soap & hair shampoo dispensers were in the bedroom!! This was mentioned at reception & suspect it will be rectified ASAP.
Balcony room was so lovely and plenty of afternoon sun to be able to sit out and enjoy in comfort. Fantastic decor of the room and bathroom and very comfortable.
No fridge in room and no water bottles. Shower gel, shampoo and conditioner were really small and only one bottle of each. Really could have used more for 2 adults in the room
We booked the suite which was very well appointed. The quality of food in the restaurant was first class.
The suite had a large bath, which we were aware of however no bath robes were provided and the bed was not as comfortable as we would have liked. There was also only street parking.
Stunning hotel. Staff were friendly, welcoming and very aproachable. Our room was spotless, very well decorated, and the view from our balcony was beautiful. The bed was incredibly comfortable. Highly recommended.
Lovely warm greeting from Claire on reception, who kindly showed us to our room whilst giving an overview to the hotel surroundings, to Garrie in the restaurant, whose service was first class to Neve on reception, who very kindly upgraded our room. Super friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere, great restaurant & amazing grounds. Main courses & desserts on our first nights stay were delicious.
Starters in the restaurant did not impress, frozen prawns, completely tasteless Marie Rose sauce. Dessert on the first night stay was superb & beautifully presented, had the same dessert on our second night stay which was served completely differently to our previous night, sponge was stone cold with none of the flare on the plate as previously served. It was, however, removed from the final bill. Did not enjoy the burger from the menu, stated with cheddar cheese, but served with melted mozzarella (flavourless) unpleasant tasting burger meat too.
